Cybernetic Tactician

Design Note: This is my first hero concept, and I am woefully inexperienced with balancing the numbers for HotS. Please feel free to suggest changes, large or small. I am very interested in making this concept the best and most balanced that it can be.

Adjutant 23-46 is designed to fill the specialist role in a manner reminiscent of real-time strategy games. In some ways, she shares a common philosophy with Abathur and The Lost Vikings, while also possessing a unique playstyle. Adjutant is a bridge from the RTS players of StarCraft to the Nexus, and is designed to capitalize on the strengths and interests of a player whose primary experience is with Strategy games.

Adjutant 23-46's physical form is a (relatively) small model of a Terran Command Center, about the size of Azmodan’s character model. She spawns and controls several types of minions, and is capable of creating bunkers to help fortify key map objectives. She can be built to operate at a distance, or in close proximity to the action.

Strengths:
Very high potential damage.
Excellent map awareness and control.
Global reach with Scanner builds.
Strong area control with Bunker builds.
High siege potential with Marine builds.

Weaknesses:
Relies heavily on units that respawn slowly.
Massed minions are extremely vulnerable to AoE damage.
Weak body with few mobility tools.
Global reach is limited by long cooldowns.
Team role is inflexible once talents are chosen.

Difficulty: Very Hard

Combat Trait

Marines
Adjutant 23-46 spawns 2 marines at her location whenever a wave of minions is spawned from the base, up to a maximum of 8. The marines are under her control, using the same drag-and-click interface used by The Lost Vikings. Marines that spawn while Adjutant 23-46 is flying are unloaded when she lands.

DMG: 15 +1 per lvl

Design Note: I’m open to ideas on balancing these numbers. The unit cap of 8 makes their numbers VERY important to balance, as their power is multiplicative up to that point. I think their high aggregate damage will be offset by their vulnerability to AoEs, and their slow respawn timer.

Primary Abilities

Stimpack
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Adjutant 23-46 activates the Stimpacks of her marines, inflicting damage equal to 25% of their total health and increasing their move speed and attack rate by 25% for 4 seconds.
Design Note: Because the Marines do not regenerate HP over time, I view this ability as a significant part of the skill-cap of this hero. Knowing when to use it will make a huge difference, since weakening your marines early will dramatically affect your usefulness when a teamfight breaks out.

Bunker
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Adjutant 23-46 spawns an SCV, which travels to a chosen location within range 8 and constructs a bunker over 8 seconds. If the SCV is destroyed during construction, the bunker is also destroyed. The bunker is impassable terrain to both teams. Right-clicking it with marines selected will cause them to load into it. Right-clicking terrain with the bunker selected will unload the marines from it. Constructing a new bunker past the limit will destroy the oldest existing bunker.

Scanner Sweep
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Adjutant 23-46 scans a large area anywhere on the map, revealing it and all enemies in it for 5 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Tactical Nuke
Global Range
Cooldown: 120 seconds
After 4 seconds, deal (300 + 30/lvl) damage to all enemies in the epicenter of the targeted area (radius 4), and half that much damage to a larger area (radius 8).

Factory
Adjutant 23-46 adds a Factory to her existing structure. The factory spawns 1 Vulture every time a minion wave spawns, max 3. Vultures are fast-moving, low-health minions with a powerful attack.

Special Mount

Lift Off
Adjutant 23-46’s ‘Z’ key toggles Lift Off, allowing her to fly to new positions. While flying, Adjutant 23-46 moves at the normal walking speed of heroes, but ignores terrain. While flying, all active abilities are disabled, but she retains control of her units.

Talents

Level 1

Reactor: With every minion wave, Adjutant 23-46 spawns an additional marine. The unit cap remains unchanged.

Demolitions Training: Quest - once an individual marine achieves 6 minion kills, it upgrades to a Marauder (HP: 300 + 10/lvl) whose attacks deal +10% damage to structures.

Mobile Surgery: Marines regenerate 10 health/sec while taking cover in your bunkers.

Protective Sweep: All allied heroes within the radius of your Scanner Sweep are given a small shield (100 + 10/lvl) for 6 seconds.

Calldown: MULE:

Improved Stimpack: Stimpack damage is reduced to 15% of marines
