Al'Akir [Melee Support]

Lord of the Winds

Al'Akir the Windlord is one of the four Elemental Lords of Azeroth. Although he is often mocked for being the weakest of the Elemental Lords he served the Old Gods as a master strategist in past wars and was one of the most dangerous creatures to ever live on Azeroth.

While fighting Al'Akir unleashes chaotic winds that can help his allies charging into battle or shatter his enemies defenses.

Gameplay:
The Lord of Wind can focus on being either a healer that grants sustain or a heavy frontline supporter. Al'Akir can quickly switch between fighting in close range to poking and harassing the enemy team from a great distance.
He uses a different ressource that must be build up similiar to Rage on a warrior and can be spend with his abilities.

His main niche is the manipulation of movement speed of his allies, his enemies and of course himself in combination with - depending on his talents - offensive or defensive powers, as well as his huge presence on the map through his unique trait. He can easily turn the tides in a teamfight around an objective while his high healthpool keeps him alive.

Al'Akirs main weakness is his lack of true escapes, his few hard CCs and his weak burst heals. Also he requires great coordination with your teammates to truly shine.

Combat Trait

Blessing of the Air
Costs: 0 Storm Power
Cooldown: 20 seconds

Al'Akir creates winds that impact the battlefield. They blow from the direction of one base to the direction of the other base, increasing movement speed of heroes that walk with the wind by 15% and decreasing movement speed of heroes that walk against the wind by 10%.

Activating the ability will turn the wind to blow from the opposite side.

Storm Power
Al'Akir generates 1 Storm Power per second with a maximum of 100.

Abilities can generate additional Power, or spend it.

Primary Abilities

Skystrike
Costs: 0 Storm Power
Range: 5.5
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Strikes a target enemy with a lightning ball from the skies, dealing 120(+4%) damage in a small area around him after a 1 second delay, slowing heroes hit by 40% for 1 second.

Can also be cast on an ally for 200% of the damage as healing and a 20% movement speed increase for 2 seconds.

Generates 10 Storm Power.

Tornado Blows
Costs: 0 Storm Power
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Al'Akirs' next 3 Auto Attacks will summon a small tornado that travels quickly to a random nearby location, dealing 90(+4%) damage and reducing their movement speed by 10% for 1 seconds. Adds to other movement reductions.

Generates 10 Storm Power per Hero hit.

After 2 seconds the ability can be activated again for calling the tornados back to the Wind Lord, damaging enemies on their path again and protecting their master from the next basic spell cast on him within 4 seconds. If they aren't called back the tornados will disappear after 8 seconds.
The reactivation costs 20 Storm Power.

Eye of the Storm
Costs: 10 Storm Power per second
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Can be turned on and off

Al'Akir roots himself in place and summons a thunderstorm after 1.0 seconds, healing allies in a large radius for 1.0% of his health every 0.5 seconds. While activated his "Skystrike" becomes "Lightning Cage"
and his "Tornado Blows" becomes "Hurricane Shield"

"Lightning Cage" has doubled radius and damage and roots affected targets for 0.5 second instead of slowing them. It cannot be used to heal and costs 15 Storm Power.

"Hurricane Shield" reflects the next harmful Basic Spell cast on you and costs 30 Storm Power.

When "Eye of the Storm" is cancelled by Al'Akir, all remaining Storm Power is lost. It is not cancelled by stuns.

Heroic Abilities

Blade of Skywall
Costs: 40 Storm Power
Cooldown: 80 seconds


After 0.5 seconds Al'Akir creates a massive wave of icy wind, travelling forward in a large cone. It deals 370(+4%) damage to enemies hit and slows them by 90% for 1.5 seconds. The slow and the damage are reduced by 4% for every enemy hit. After hitting 20 targets the spell disappears.

(The spell can potentially travel forever getting larger all the time but every minion, merc or hero will reduce its strength until it vanishes. No one can be hit more than one time. The wave travels not very fast.)

Shattering Storm
Costs: 50 Storm Power
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Al'Akir shatters the ground below him in a huge area, making allies and enemies levitating. While inside the area they move with 70% increased movement speed. Enemy heroes also take 20(+4%) damage every 0.5 seconds. Removes all landscape objects like rocks, cliffs, trees, walls and grass, but no structures. Does not affect minions, catapults or mercs. Lasts for 12 seconds.

Special Mount

Al'Akir cannot use a Mount. He walks with 15% increased movement speed and is unaffected by "Blessing of the Air"

Talents

Talent Ideas:

Level 1:
- Gathering Storm: Every Globe of Regeneration increases your passive Storm Power generation by 0.05 SP per second.
- Wind Shield: Generates a Charge of Block (50% Physical Armor) every 3 seconds while walking against the wind, maximum 2 charges.
- Seeing Star: Creates a Seeing Star at the target location for 60 seconds. Can be replaced once to a global location. Can be destroyed with 2 hits. 80 seconds CD.
- Breaking the Sound Barrier: The summoned tornados from "Tornado Blows" move 100% faster.


Level 4:
- Four Winds: "Tornado Blows" now affect the next 4 attacks.
- Warm Rain: Increases the healing from "Eye of the Storm" by 40%.
- Blink of an Eye: The delay of "Skystrike's" Damage and healing gets reduced to 0.5 seconds.
- Frozen Feet: Increases the slow from "Skystrike" to 70% and the slow duration by 0.5 seconds.


Level 7:
- Efficiency: "Skystrike" now generates 15 SP.
- Heavy Blows: The Tornados' size is increased by 20% and their damage by 50%.
- Wind's Domain: Increases the radius of "Eye of the Storm" by 25%.
- Storm Ward: Places a Storm Ward for 10 seconds that will heal nearby allys for 2% of their health every second and generate 2 SP per second for Al'Akir. Can be destroyed with 4 hits. 70 seconds CD.


Level 10:
- See above.


Level 13:
- Forced Regeneration: If "Skystrike" is used to heal an ally, it will heal him for an additional 100% of the healed amount over 4 seconds.
- Drained Essence: "Tornado Blows'" Tornados will heal you for 50% of the damage they dealt if you call them back.
- Hand of the Wind: "Lightning cage" now also has a 50% higher casting range.


Level 16:
- Cutting through Paper: "Tornado Blows" now increases Attack Speed by 100% for its duration.
- Recalculation: When Al'Akir ends "Eye of the Storm" early the remaining Storm Power is no longer lost, but projected as a shield for Al'Akir with 1% of his health for every unused SP. Lasts 3 seconds.
- Counter Attack: If "Hurricane Shield" reflects a spell, your Ability Power is increased by 30% for 3 seconds.
- World Domination: Removes the cooldown of "Blessing of the Air". Allies are now only slowed by 5%, when walking against the wind.


Level 20:
- North Wind Empowerment: "Blade of Skywall" is now reduced by 3% per enemy hit and can hit 10 additional enemies before it disappears. Also increases its damage by 40%.
- Southern Stroms: Increases the radius of "Shattering Storms" by 20%. The damage done by the spell is now immediately returned as healing to the most injured allied hero in the area.
- Skywall Blades: 30% more AA damage and 20% more attack range.

Thank you both :) I thought it would be important for him to have a massive impact on the battlefield, since that is kind of his thing as a Windlord and master of the Air.
