Anub'arak

Traitor King

I love the idea of Anub'arak, but in execution he seems flawed. I think the basis of his seemingly shallow design are dated talents. My goal with these talent changes is to bring more variety to his build paths, and create a Hero that is viable in a number of situations.

Combat Trait

1
Scarab Host
Spawn beetles at your location whenever you use an ability. Beetles attack enemies for 20 damage and last 8 seconds or until killed.

Primary Abilities

Impale
Shoot a line of spikes that damages and stuns enemies

Harden Carapace
Anub'arak and his beetles gain a shield.

Burrow Charge
Burrow underground and charge in a direction

Heroic Abilities

Locust Swarm
Damage enemies and heal Anub'arak

Cocoon
Wraps an enemy in a cocoon

Level 1 Talents

Extended Spikes : Increase Impale range by 25%

Persistent Carapace : Burrow Charge grants Carapace

Assault Scarab : Beetles deal 20% more damage

Regeneration Master : Gather Regen Globes to increase health regen

Level 4 Talents

Underking : Burrow Charge has increased range and lower cooldown

Lord of Swarms : Take less damage from Non-boss mercenaries, and nearby mercenaries are stronger and deal AoE damage around them.

Locust Needles : Anub'arak and

Level 7 Talents

Shed Exoskeleton : When Carapace's duration expires, Anub'arak is healed for half the remaining value

Chitinous Explosion : When Beetles die, they explode dealing moderate damage in AoE

Bed of Barbs : Impale creates two shorter lines of spikes on either side of the primary impale

Leeching Scarabs : Beetles heal Anub'arak and themselves for every auto attack

Level 10 Talents

Locust Swarm : Damages enemies and heals Anub'arak

Cocoon : Wraps an Enemy in a web

Level 13 Talents

Swarming Rage : Deals damage to nearby enemies

Chitinous Plating : Carapace shields beetles and Anub'arak for 25% more

Symbiotic Armor : Nearby Allies receive the benefits of Carapace

Spell Shield : Reduces incoming ability damage

Level 16 Talents

Epicenter : Increase Burrow Charge range and damage. Additionally, a wide area around the Burrow Charge target is shaken and creates a slow field

Beetle, Juiced : Beetles gain increased health and have their duration extended by 50%

Imposing Presence : Attacks against Anub'arak or his beetles reduces attack speed

Blood for Blood : Activate to steal Health from your target

Level 20 Talents

Hero of the Swarm : Attacks by beetles extend the duration of Locust Swarm by 1 second, extending it to a maximum of 16 seconds.

Cryptweave : Heroes who deal damage to the Cocoon are slowed by 20% and deal 20% less damage

Hardened Shield : Activate to reduce damage received by 75% for 4 seconds

Rewind : Activate to reset all basic ability cooldowns

The change to Epicenter was unnecessary, it makes it like a small version of Thrall's earthquake, which would be too powerful. Epicenter was already one of anub'arak's best talents. I like all the other changes though, integrating the beetles more into other builds is pretty cool
