the Omnic Siege Automaton

Bastion is the newest Ranged Assassin coming to Heroes of the Storm, who's determined to discover the Nexus and bring his veteran combat status there. He's an adc capable of dealing a lot of damage from a setup position, but unlike his direct counterpart Sgt. Hammer, he has a much higher rate of fire, easier way to hit unclickable targets and lane sustain at the expense of mobility and structural damage, aswell as AoE early on.

Because you can't move as a Sentry nor do you have a mount to rotate to objectives, you must be played around. However, your damage output and innate tankiness as a Sentry will be worth it. Later on, you can add AoE damage as a Tank or be even more durable.

(Piercing Shrapnels seemed too good to be taken over other talents, as it boosted up his late game potential more than other talents, so it's now here from lvl 1. Electric Aura felt too niche, and having infinite Unstoppable on a ranged assassin felt dangerous.)
[*] 4/01/21 - Buffed Armor-Piercing Rounds to 0.15% of each target's max Health per 0.1 seconds. (noticed it dealt less damage than similar talents like Giant Killer at this tier, so it deserves a buff)

Combat Trait

[D] Ironclad
While in Reconfiguration: Sentry or in Reconfiguration: Tank, Bastion gains 20 Armor.

If you have the Antivirus talent, you can activate this trait to cause your next Self-Repair to grant Unstoppable for the duration, but also double the cooldown increase and the max cooldown cap. (45 CD)

[D1] Reconfiguration: Recon
Reconfiguration: Recon is Bastion's starting configuration. His basic attacks have 5.5 range, have high attack speed, can be done while moving and can lock onto the target until he changes his target. He also restores 30 Overheat every second in this mode.

[D2] Reconfiguration: Sentry
Reconfiguration: Sentry is the other reconfiguration he can transform into at all stages of the game. He cannot use basic atacks or move by himself in that mode, but he gains access to Rattling Gun. Hard CC that force movement on Bastion (e.g. Stitches' Hook or Stukov's Massive Shove) will force him to switch to Reconfiguration: Recon.

Primary Abilities

[Q] Rattling Gun
Active: Bastion starts to fire his machine gun in target direction within 6.5 range, following your cursor. The gun deals damage every 0.1 seconds (reduced slighty with Attack Speed) equal to 12.5% of Bastion's Attack Damage to the first enemy and 24% (+2% per level) to other enemies, but it has a fixed turn rate. Deals 25% damage to Structures.

Bastion can continue to fire the machine gun until he Overheats. He has 300 Overheat instead of Mana, and he expends 30 of it for every second he fires this ability.

Active: Bastion switches between Reconfiguration: Recon and Reconfiguration: Sentry.

[E] Self-Repair
Active: Bastion channels, restoring 2% of his maximum Healt and 60 Overheat (reduced to 30 in Reconfiguration: Recon) every second for up to 5 seconds. You cannot attack or use abilities while channeling, but if you are channeling in Reconfiguration: Recon or Reconfiguration: Tank, you can still move.


(0.5 CD for every second of channeling, max 2.5)

Secondary Abilities

[Q] Rocket Shell
Active: While in Reconfiguration: Tank, Bastion can use this ability to fire a long rocket in target direction, dealing 189 (+4% per level) damage to the first enemy hit and 75% of that damage to nearby enemies. This ability replaces Rattling Gun in that configuration.

Active: Bastion sends down his companion Ganymede to reveal target area for 2 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

[R1] Configuration: Tank
Active: Bastion switches to Reconfiguration: Tank within a second for 8 seconds. While in that configuration, his [Q] ability becomes Rocket Shell, and he gains Rocket Jump. Then, he returns to Reconfiguration: Recon within a second.

[R2] Defensive Ingenuity
Active: Bastion emits a shield for 8 seconds that blocks 400 (+4% per level) damage from enemies who damage him from a 135 degree cone in front of Bastion. Both Bastion and his enemies can see the area where the damage block will occur; attacks outside the area will not damage the shield.

If the shield is emitted while in Reconfiguration: Sentry, the area will follow your cursor.

Special Mount

[Z] Rocket Jump
Active: While in Reconfiguration: Tank, Bastion can use this ability to jump over terrain. This ability shares cooldown with Rocket Shell.

Otherwise, Bastion cannot ride a mount nor does he gain passive movement speed.

Talents

Level 1


[Q] Continuous Fire
Quest: Every 100 seconds spent in casting Rattling Gun permanently increases Bastion's Attack Damage by 4%, up to 40%.

[Q] Cooling Software
Reduces the amount of Overheat used per second by 5.

[E] Mobile Repair Station
Reduces the penalty of Overheat regained in Reconfiguration: Recon to 45.

Level 4


[Passive] Emergency Servos
Increases the amount of Overheat used per second with Rattling Gun by 7.5, but increases the Armor gained through Ironclad by 50%.

[E] Fixing Hardware
Self-Repair can now be channeled indefinitely.

[1] Ganymede's Sight
Activate to reveal target area for 2 seconds. 30 CD.

Level 7


[Q] Cold Shower
Rattling Gun slows enemies by 15% for 0.75 seconds.

[D1] Quick Succession
Grants 20% Attack Speed to Bastion.

[Passive] Artillery Armament
Increases the attack range of Reconfiguration: Recon's basic attacks to 6.5 and of Rattling Gun to 7.5.

Level 13


[Q] Armor-Piercing Rounds
Causes Rattling Gun to deal damage equal to 0.15% of each target's maximum Health every 0.1 seconds.

[Q] Destruction Mode
Gradually increases the amount of Overheat spent on Rattling Gun based on missing Overheat, but also grants Attack Speed equal to missing Overheat.

[Passive] Regeneration Plates
Causes Bastion to heal for 15% of damage he deals.

Level 16


[E] Antivirus
Ironclad can now be activated to cause your next Self-Repair to grant Unstoppable for the duration, but also double the cooldown increase and the max cooldown cap. 45 CD.

[E] Fix It Felix
Increases the Health and Overheat restored by 250%, thus reducing the max cooldown to a second.

[E] Windup
Fully restoring Overheat with Self-Repair grants 12% Attack Speed for every 60 Overheat you restored for 4 seconds.

Level 20


[R1] Jump the Gun
Reduces the cooldown to 30 CD and causes Self-Repair to increase damage of your next Rocket Shell by 25%.

[R2] Safeguard
Expands the aura to 360 degrees and grants nearby ally heroes 50% of the base shield's value upon cast.

[D] Finest Installment
Grants Ironclad's Armor to all ally heroes within 1200 range. Now grants 20 Armor to you when in Reconfiguration: Recon.

[W] Hologramic Projection
Switching configurations creates a temporary copy of your hero for 3 seconds. The copy cannot be targeted and cannot block spells, and it will continue to use basic attacks or Rattling Gun on nearby enemies with 50% damage effectiveness. It will also follow nearby enemies and benefit from your talents.
