Belial is a Ranged Specialist, a master of deceit
Difficulty: Very Hard
Idea design behind Belial is to be a a little of everything but not really great at one thing. In draft, hes a very wild card. Belial himself has decent abilities but is still very reliant on team composition. Unlike Abathur, Belial is 100% invested in his machinations, dying as a Deciever will also result in the death of Belial, so you dont want to just yolo it.
STATISTICS
1851 Health
1 Attacks per second
111 Damage
For comparison Nazeebo is
1704 Health
1.11 Attacks per second
92 damage
Additional Notes -Belial uses mounts normally like Azmodan and Zagara
-Belial will always appear to be in his more docile form outside of deciever, but whenever casting an ability his "true" form will be quickly shown.
Combat Trait
1
D- Deciever
25 Second Cooldown, starts upon exiting this form
Last 15 seconds
Ranged targeted
Instantly mimic a nearby ally hero and their likeness. Gain access to their stats, abilities and traits. If the Deciever form dies Belial also dies.
-Does not gain talents or heroics.
-Unlike abathur, there is no indication on who is real and who is fake to the enemy team
-Also unlike Abathur, dying as a deceiver will still result in your own death.
Primary Abilities

-Illusions act like pinged AI tethered to the hero casted upon. They can use crowd control and utility spells at full effect but will not do any healing or damage. Can be quickly aoed down
Storm Talent-?
2
R2- Effigy

Storm Talent-The effigy gains an additional 20% health and damage and you gain 25 armor while its alive
I've seen your 3 other Diablo concepts, and I think you'll find a way around this one. Those other concepts were strangely balanced and looked fun to play, so I have hope in this concept coming out great in the completed version, although it does look extremely confusing at first, maybe just a little clarification for a few more abilities.
Thank you, this one has proved quite tough. Im going to probably iterate his True form to be a more central part of his kit rather than a sort of a last ditch effort thing. I have to also think of what talents would be like, and thats where i feel like most of his "true form" value would come from. Perhaps having his deceiver duration/effectiveness empower his next True Form, meaning you have to kind of build it up before you let loose.
Horrible horrible design. His trait is godlike levels of broken just by itself, as his 'additional backup life' is stronger than most assassins. And his Q ability is just insane. Your pretty much giving him abathur's ultimate, and letting him be a secondary copy of any hero on your team or the enemy team... and if they kill said copy, he pops out in true form, which is ungodly powerful just by itself.
I think you make a good point despite the overreaction. Ive been tweaking it around. The difference between him and abathurs clone is going 1 for 1 with abathurs clone is favorable for abathur, when you ultimate evolution you basically yolo and try your best for a kill regardless if you die with it, but going 1 for 1 with a deciever is the exact same as trading 1 for 1 because Belial should die with it.
I havent exactly figured out how i want his True form to work yet. I want it to be comparable to molten core but not as a failsafe. Right now yes its a bit overpowered, but I iterate pretty fast. Considering making him similiar to D.VA, where you revolves around "phases" between cloning people and using his True Form
Again, the entire point of his clones, unlike abathur is you fully invest in it. I also think i want to give "Cast aside" a cooldown aswell as a longer cast time. Locking down Belial in his deciever form should reward you with a kill the same as it does any hero, but I want to give him the chance to leave the vessel, which isnt exactly favorable because of his poor stats but still gives him a chance.
No. Just no. Copying an allied or enemy hero is not something that should ever be regulated to a non-heroic. The power of abathur's ultimate isnt that it can 'trade 1v1 freely'. The power of abathur's ultimate is that getting 2 of any allied hero is game changing just by itself. This Q, while it doesnt gain 10% extra ability power, is permament duration, and having a practical permament second copy of a single hero is game breaking. To name a few:
Diablo
Valla
Sylvanas
Lt.Morales
Genji
D.Va
Sgt.Hammer
Jaina
Tyrande
Uther
The list goes on. Many heroes who would be super strong to have a copy of even without their heroic or talents. And since this is the core of your belial's design, hes hot trash and should be trashed.
I think you severely undervalue what UE does on abathur
Ultimate Evolution
Cooldown: 50 seconds
Clone target allied Hero and control it for 20 seconds. Abathur has perfected the clone, granting it 20% Ability Power, 20% bonus Attack Damage, and 10% bonus Movement Speed. Cannot use their Heroic Ability.
Not only does it grant him 20% AA damage, ability power AND movement speed, its global and basically gives him a free body to yolo. The added stats are what makes up for him not having talents.
Belial also does no have talents but also does not gain 20% AA damage/ability power OR the ability to go yolo with the hero, which is the setback. I can clone greymane in a fight and just go super yolo to get a kill on the backline, and it doesnt matter if my clone dies. If i go 1 for 1 with a clone I still win, and even if I dont get a kill with my clone, if i forced them to back to base by zoning I win, or if my team is still there you can globally rejoin and finish someone off with symbiote.
When you copy a hero as Belail, you inherent all of their weaknesses. If you clone a diablo, you have no souls and you are playing an all in warrior. IF you die as diablo, you die as belial aswell. If you copy a Jaina and get dove upon, you are a Jaina. If you die as Jaina, you still die.
Since you made this comment I had since changed it from permanently to temporary, which I guess you didnt notice. The point of it is still to basically grant situations of double heroes more frequently but less powerfully.
Hey all, i got a few more tweaks to do, but i would like feedback on the design itself. Its my first "crazy" design and im not sure if its perfect yet, would love to know what others think.
