The idea I get of Coren Direbrew is a very, very odd duckling. He has low health, and low damage, but gets near global presence due to his patrons not being forced to stay with him, which makes him a real threat to be reckoned with. You can literally get hit by a structure, get low, get patrons out, run back to base and
still be racking up all that damage, because your patrons are doing
work!
His kit would be composed of 3 basic abilities : Direbrew's Disarm, which reduces an enemy hero's auto attack damage for a short duration (and is also Direbrew's signature ability in WoW!), Drunken Axethrow, which consists of a targetted mini-nuke that removes a bit of his auto attack damage, at a relatively short cooldown.
Finally, Bonk!, which buffs a Grim Patron -- careful though, as Coren will be hit by 4 auto attacks from the angry guy, instantly. That damage
can be lethal, so caution will be required.
The secondary ability he'd get would be a long cooldown, pretty big buff to a Grim Patron : randomly either double his attack speed, give him more health, or more damage. The buff lasts forever, and so casting it on a grim patron at full duration could be devastating if used at the right time.
His ultimates would be as follow : Dog Pile! and Drunken Brawl
Dog Pile would be a control type of ultimate : He can massively stun heroes, as he can have up to 20 dwarves at his command, and with 0.1 second stun for every dwarf, you can stun the entire enemy team for 2 seconds, as well as dealing pretty high damage to them. This does kill all your dwarves if an enemy is hit but come on! You can single handedly win a team fight with that ability if timed well!
His second ultimate would be a straight up damage ultimate. He gets every patron to run to him at 250% speed, and once he has a number of them, he can cast the ability on a targetted area, and every patron and minion will run around, attacking enemies
extremely quickly but with reduced damage. Lasting 10 seconds, during which your patrons and minions cannot time out, you can get all your patrons in a team fight instead of having them run around the map, and believe it or not, but their damage is pretty big once you start adding things up!
And what kind of drunk would he be without a mount to show for it, I ask you?
Chug! is Coren's mount -- he chugs down a mug of Direbrew ale, which makes him go faster and regenerate health for more. He can go beyond mount speed with this, if talented right, but it does take ramping up : The idea behind this is that he would constantly be drinking so that he would always be running fast and regenerating health. Some of his abilities also require to be at a certain speed bonus percentage from this to even be cast, and so Coren will need to be drinking a whole lot throughout the game!
(Please don't take him as an example kids -- it'd be a very bad idea.)
Put in brief, his playstyle is one of a hit and run character : Run in, disarm, axethrow, then run out because you're intoxicated as hell and can run faster than anyone else.
Within that altercation, taking damage will trigger your trait once or twice, too, so you'll
also get patrons out of this, so it's win-win. You definitely aren't a sustain fighter -- you can afford to sacrifice patrons for that, as you can always get more, but you, yourself, aren't a sustain fighter and you want nothing to do with prolongated fights, due to your very low amount of health.
For example, with the mount you should not add so many conditions (the cooldown, and the increase/decrease in damage/speed).

I may do that, it's heavily a work in progress, although I'd like to understand -- His trait is 100% automatic ; it spawns minions that spawn minions, you don't need to enact on them or do anything special unless you want to pull off some huge *** plays -- which is often what loses games, as sober but efficient is often more than enough, so I'm not sure that's complicated as far as playing out his trait is.
As far as his mount goes, you press z to get a speed boost, I'll change it to always be 1%, but here's the mount : Press z, you get 1% bonus speed and health regen but hit for less, you can press z every second. Get CC'ed, 10 second cooldown, fall to 0 speed bonus after starting to drink, 15 second cooldown, and once you hit the most speed you can get, you get a 30 seconds cooldown. It may sound complicated like that, but his trait is FULLY automatic, no activation required, and his mount only consists of you pressing z a lot. I'm not so sure what's overly complicated about this, so I'd appreciate if you helped me on that.
Thank you for the feedback!
