C'thun, like Abathur, is an unorthodox play style hero. Rather than acting through other heroes, he acts through summoned appendages, which he can use to act as a proxy for his other ability casts. C'thun has immense maximum health, but appendage damage hurts him also, and he has no regeneration or healing outside of a channelled ability, so multiple appendage deaths will kill your core body if you're not careful!
He is a specialist because he is capable of taking out lane minions quite easily, and the wide reach and vision of his appendages grants him secure lane control. His teamfight presence is limited to his second heroic unless he can relocate his appendages in time.
C'thun has his "true" body located near the team's nexus at the back of the base. This body cannot move or attack, but is the default proxy for ability casts if no tentacles are empowered by Eye of the Master. This body always retains the Dark Aura, irrespective of empowered Tentacles.

“C’thun radiates a Dark Aura of up to 8 range around his body. This aura indicates where his abilities may influence and grants vision of the area.
Activate this trait upon a Slave Tentacle to empower it so long as this trait isn’t cast upon another Tentacle or C’thun, causing it to radiate a similar Dark Aura and causing Dark Glare and Corruption to be cast from this tentacle’s position instead of the primary body. Once cast upon a tentacle, this trait goes on cooldown for 4 seconds.” C'thun's "true" body takes 100% more damage from attacks and abilities if targeted directly."

“Activate to begin channeling over 100 seconds, healing 1% of C’thun’s maximum health per second. Tentacles are also healed for 1% of their maximum health a second. Global Range
“Cast at the visible location to cause a Slave Tentacle to surface after 2 seconds. The Tentacle will attack nearby enemies every second for 21 (+6 per hero level, including level 1) damage. Whenever the Tentacle takes damage, C’thun takes a similar amount of damage himself. The Tentacle lasts until destroyed. You may have 3 Tentacles active at any one time. Basic attacks from Tentacles reduce the cooldown of this ability by 1 second.
Casting Slave Tentacle within a Dark Aura causes the Tentacle to surface in half the time and reduces the ability cooldown instantly by 10 seconds.
Minion and hero deaths near the Tentacle cause it to grow granting it a stack of 2.5% increased attack damage and health, stacking up to 30 times.
Tentacles can be healed and targeted by any beneficial ability that would ordinarily target a hero. Tentacles are healed by Regeneration Orbs. Tentacles empowered by Eye of the Master can contribute towards capturing objectives if they are placed within the capture zone. You can direct the attacks of Tentacles using the Strike ability. Alternatively the attacks of any Empowered Tentacles can be directed by right clicking targets within range.

“Activate to cause C’thun or your empowered Tentacle to begin channelling a beam at the targeted location within your Dark Aura. The beam deals 40 (+10 per hero level, including level 1) damage to enemies within the impact zone per second. You can use your cursor right clicks to move the beam once channelling has begun, but it cannot move outside of your Dark Aura. Lasts up to 6 seconds.”

“All enemies within the Dark Aura take 30 (+10 per hero level, including level 1) damage. Enemies damaged are marked for up to 8 seconds, increasing the damage they take from Corruption by 10%, stacking up to 10 times.”

“The selected Tentacle will burrow over 2 seconds. Once burrowed it is stored as a charge, and the next cast of Slave Tentacle will resummon the first stored Tentacle at the selected location. Stored tentacles retain all passive attack damage and health bonuses they have accumulated. For every second a Tentacle is stored, it will be healed for 5% of its maximum health. There is no limit to how many Tentacles you may store. Successfully storing a Tentacle will instantly refresh the cooldown of Slave Tentacle. 8 second cooldown.”

“Transform a Slave Tentacle into a Silithid hive. The Tentacle can no longer use basic attacks but may still be used to cast Dark Glare or Corruption if empowered by Eye of the Master. Transforming a Tentacle into a Hive increases it’s health by 25% and fully heals it. The Hive contributes towards your Tentacle count, and cannot be recalled using Submerge. The Hive will release Silithid Ravagers every 8 seconds, which move down the lane. Every fifth Ravager released will also release a Qiraji Warrior, Qiraji Warriors deal 50% more damage to structures. When empowered by Eye of the Master, the Hive releases Ravagers in half the time. You can recast this ability upon a living Hive to fully heal it. Doing so puts this ability on cooldown for 50% of the original duration.

Voice of C'thun
Cooldown: 60 seconds
“Causes C’thun or an Empowered Tentacle to channel on the target enemy hero for 1 second, stunning them whilst this channel occurs. Once finished, the enemy hero is corrupted with a malevolent growth for up to 10 seconds. This disempowers any active Tentacle. The Growth has health equal to 50% of the maximum health of the host, the host is damaged for an amount equal to 50% of any damage taken by the Growth. Your vision is centred on the corrupted hero. You can use new abilities from their location and issue auto attacks by right clicking targets within 6 range of the host. Executing abilities or attacks does not interfere with the ability casts, attacks or movement of the host hero unless the ability stipulates otherwise. You can still use the Strike and Submerge commands on targeted Tentacles whilst this ability is active.
Auto Attacks: 49 (+14 per hero level, including level 1) per second.
Flay: Q 2 second cooldown 6 range Flails appendages at the target and two nearby enemies for 35 (+10 per hero level, including level 1) damage.
Shadow Crash: W 10 second cooldown 8 range After channeling for 1 second, sends a slow moving mass of dark energy towards the target location. Impact deals 91 (+26 per hero level, including level 1) damage to all targets and stuns them for 1 second.
Siphon: E 6 second cooldown 8 range Target an ally to channel for up to 4 seconds, damaging your host for 100 (+20 per level, including level 1) over the duration and healing the targeted ally for an amount equal to 200% of any damage dealt by this ability. You can issue auto attacks whilst this ability channels but any other ability casts will cancel this ability.”

When recasting this ability upon a Hive, not only is the Hive healed, but for the next 4 seconds Ravagers are summoned three times as quickly.”
Echoes of Evil – [Voice of C’thun Augment] “The duration of Voice of C’thun is increased by 50%. The growth now has maximum health equal to 100% of the host’s maximum health.”
Wrath of the Old Ones – [Generic Passive] “When casting an ability from C’thun or an empowered Tentacle, all other Tentacles within the Dark Aura will replicate your Dark Glare and Corruption casts for 50% of the original ability damage.”
The Dark Below – [Submerge Augment] “Submerge no longer has a channel time for Tentacles to bury, and the cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds. Additionally stored Tentacles heal three times as quickly.”
