Pain. What most consider evil, is viewed under a different lense. A small cult, hidden within Tristram, believes that heaven has suffered an unholy exchange. They are the flagellants.

Imperius, Aspect of Wrath. They believe that he has stolen Duriel's rightful place in heaven, and infected it with his demonic nature. Therefore, Duriel is a holy being, confined to hell. Duriel is the aspect of pain, and so, the flagellants believe pain itself to be holy. In order to rid oneself of their sins, they must pay proportionately with suffering of the flesh.

Damian is a member of their order, traveling on his holy pilgrimage. He searches for two things: Sinners to purify...and pain, to purify his own sins. This inquisition has lead him to the nexus...

Masochist

Damian gains 1% spell power and attack damage for every 1% of maximum health missing.

Primary Abilities

Transfusion

Cooldown: 6 seconds
Transfer 100 health from Damian to an ally over 4 seconds.

Cannot be cast on himself.
While active, every 1 (one) second, 25 health will be transferred from Damian to the ally.
Both the health loss and gain are affected by spell power.
Damian cannot kill himself this way.

Redeem

Cooldown: 26 seconds
After a 1 second channel, heal an ally for 50% of their missing health.

Can cast on himself or an ally.
The healing amount is affected by spell power.

Endure

Cooldown: 15 seconds

Choose an ally. While they are nearby, 50% of all damage they take is transferred to Damian. Lasts 3 seconds.

The damage is considered after all other modifiers (armor, bonus damage, and other effects).
The effect ends instantly if either Damian or the target stray too far from each other.
Damian cannot kill himself this way.

Heroic Abilities

Death's Door

Cooldown: 50 seconds per ally
Give an allied hero Unkillable for 2.5 seconds.

Each allied hero has a separate cooldown.
Damian can cast this on himself.

Sanguine Blast

Cooldown: 80 seconds

After 0.75 seconds, Damian explodes violently, dealing 300 damage to nearby enemies and stunning them. The duration of the stun increases proportionately to his missing health, up to 2.5 seconds.

The 0.75 second delay is channeled. If interrupted, this ability goes on a 10 second cooldown.
The stun duration ranges from 0 to 2.5 seconds, gaining 0.025 seconds for every 1% of maximum health missing.
The damage is affected by spell power.

After not taking damage for 3 seconds, Damian regenerates an additional 5 health per second. This effect can be toggled.

While Transfusion is active, Damian's basic attacks heal the ally for 50% of damage dealt.

While below 20% maximum health, Damian's basic attacks slow enemies hit by 60% for 1 second.

Damian gains an additional 1% attack damage for every 1% of maximum health missing.

Level 7

Redeem grants a shield equal to 10% of it's healing amount. Lasts 5 seconds.

While below 20% maximum health, casting Endure grants the target Unstoppable for 0.75 seconds.

Basic attacks cleave, hitting all enemies in an area.

Level 13

[Q]: Universal Donor
Allies near the target heal for 50% of the healing dealt. Does not heal Damian.

While below 20% maximum health, Redeem's range is increased by 50%.

Endure heals the ally for 50 health per second.

Deal 12 damage per second to nearby enemies, increased by 1% for every 1% of maximum health missing.

While below 20% maximum health, Endure grants Damian Unstoppable.

Each ally's Death's Door cooldown recharges 1% faster for every 1% of their maximum health missing.

0.75 seconds after dying, Damian explodes violently, dealing 600 damage and stunning enemies hit for 2.5 seconds.

Increase Endure's range by 75%.
[Passive]: Brief Respite
Damian's talents that require him to be below 20% maximum health are active when below 40% maximum health.

Strategy

Damian is a high risk, high reward hero. At low health, he can deal incredible damage and healing; At the same time, his abilities allow him to reach that point sooner. However, a low health total means a fast death, so be on the lookout for enemies seeking to capitalize on your vulnerability.

He also possesses a flexible talent tree that can adjust his playstyle to a more aggressive, damage dealing healer; Or maintain him as a potent healer who takes all of his team's incoming damage for himself. In either case, Damian will most likely be the first hero to die on your team, so be sure to get enough value out of his potency before he does.

When playing against Damian, be sure to allocate your damage properly. A Damian with low health is powerful, so avoid hurting him unless you can secure a takedown. Save an interrupt or two to prevent him from being able to activate Redeem successfully.
