Darion Mograine

Highlord of the Ebon Blade

Darion Mograine is a powerful melee multiclass hero, allowing him to become either an Assassin or a Warrior. He has a unique resource system where he uses both runes and runic power. Spending runes generates runic power and spending runic power will speed up his rune recovery.

Combat Trait

1
Ebon Presence
Slows on you are 25% less effective and have their durations reduced by 30%.
(You keep this bonus even after choosing your Heroic ability)

-Runes/Runic Power-

You have two unique resources which work together to fuel your abilities. Spending 1 rune grants 20 runic power. Spending 35 Runic Power immediately activates one of your runes.

You have a maximum of 4 Runes which passively regenerate over time. Runic Power however can only be gained though using abilities and has a maximum of 100.

Increases maximum health by 40% and increases armour by 10%.

Increases the amount of Runic Power generated by a Rune by 2.5 and increases damage by 10%.

Unholy Presence (H3)
Slows on you are 25% less effective and have their durations reduced by 30%.

Increases your movement speed and rune regeneration rate by 15%. Activate Unholy Presence to summon a Ghoul and control it. (25 second cooldown after it dies, grants 0.25 of a kill).

Primary Abilities

Rune Strike (Q)
Enhances your rune blade with runic magic, making your next attack instant and deal moderate - high damage.

Cost: Two runes.

(This ability will be replaced depending on your Heroic ability choice.

Death Strike (W)
Harness dark power into a strike, dealing medium damage and healing you for 10% of the damage you have taken in the last 2 seconds. Healing is doubled against Hero damage.

Cost: 40 Runic Power.

Death Grip (E)
Shadowy Tendrils grasp your target, pulling them to your location. (15 second cooldown)

Heart Strike (Q (Blood Presence))
Swing your sword in an arc, striking all enemies in front of you, dealing moderate damage. This attack generates 10 runic power, plus an additional 5 per enemy Hero struck.

Obliterate (Q (Frost Presence))
Brutally attack your enemy, dealing high - very high damage. Damage increased by 20% if target is affected with Frost Fever.

Scourge Strike (Q (Unholy Presence))
Swing a shadowy blade, dealing moderate - high damage and increasing the damage your ghoul does to the target by 25% for 3 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Blood Boil
-Blood Boil-
Boils the blood of all enemy targets near you, dealing moderate damage and healing you for 20% of the damage done, healing doubled against Heroes. Cost: 1 Rune

Replaces Ebon Presence with Blood Presence.

-Blood Presence-
Passive: Increases your maximum health by 40% and increases your armor by 10.

Replaces your Rune Strike with Heart Strike.

-Heart Strike-
Swing your sword in an arc, striking all enemies in front of you. This attack generates 10 Runic power, plus an additional 5 per enemy Hero struck.

Frost Fever
-Frost Fever-
Blast the enemy with a frigid wind, dealing moderate damage to the target and all nearby enemies and dealing additional moderate damage over 4 seconds.

Replaces Ebon Presence with Frost Presence.

-Frost Presence-
Passive: Increases the amount of Runic Power generated by a Rune by 2.5 and increases damage by 10%.

Replaces your Rune Strike with Obliterate.

-Obliterate-
Brutally attack your enemy, dealing high - very high damage. Damage increased by 20% if target is affected with Frost Fever.

Dark Transformation
-Dark Transformation- Cost: 1 Rune
Transform your ghoul into an undead monstrosity, increasing it's damage and health by 100% and causing it's attacks to cleave, hitting nearby targets.

Replaces Ebon Presence with Unholy Presence.

-Unholy Presence-
Increases your movement speed and rune regeneration rate by 15%. Activate Unholy Presence to summon a Ghoul and control it. (25 second cooldown after it dies, grants 0.25 of a kill).

Replaces your Rune Strike with Scourge Strike.

-Scourge Strike- Cost: 1 Rune
Swing a shadowy blade, dealing moderate - high damage and increasing the damage your ghoul does to the target by 25% for 3 seconds.

Talents

Level 1

- Block
    Every 5 seconds, gain 75 physical armor against the next enemy hero basic attack, reducing the damage by 75%. 2 charges.

- Sudden Doom
    After using Death Grip, your next damaging ability will deal 20% increased damage.

- Armies of the Highlord
    Mercenaries take 25% more damage and deal 25% less damage to you.

Level 4

- Gravitational Pull
    Death Grip reduces the targets movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds.

- Dark Succor
    Killing a minion will cause your next Death Strike to cost no Runic Power.

- Icebound Fortitude
    Makes you Unstoppable and increases your armor by 25 for 2.5 seconds.

Level 7

- Red Thirst
    Reduces the cost of Death Strike by 10 Runic Power.

- Wraith Walk
    Increases your movement speed by 15% and allows you to walk though units.

- Rune of Razorice
    Your auto attacks slow your target by 10% for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.
Level 10

- Blood Boil

    Boils the blood of all enemy targets near you, dealing moderate damage and healing you for 20% of the damage done, healing doubled against Heroes. Cost: 1 Rune

Level 13

- Resilient Grip
    If Deathgrip fails to pull a target, the cooldown is reduced by 6 seconds.
- Icy Talons
    Increases your attack speed by 20% and your allies by half the amount.
- Heartstop Aura
    Reduces the cooldown recovery rate of nearby enemy abilities by 5% for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.


Level 16

- Death Gate
    Your Hearthstone is now 50% faster.
- Empower Rune Weapon
    Instantly reactivate all your runes and gain 25 Runic Power.
- Unholy Frenzy
    When a nearby enemy Hero dies, you gain 30% attack speed for 3 seconds.

Level 20

- Vampiric Blood
    Increases your maximum health and healing recieved by 30% for 4 seconds. (60 second cooldown)
- Obliteration
    Obliterate will deal an additional 5% of the target's maximum health as damage and stun the enemy for 0.5 seconds. The stun effect cannot occur more than once every 4 seconds.
- Arise and Serve
    Upon death, you can choose to instantly resurrect yourself, spawning in the Nexus (200 second cooldown)
- Purgatory
    When an attack brings you below 1 hp, you enter Purgatory, absorbing all incoming damage and allowing you to fight for 2 more seconds. If the incoming damage is not healed off within those two seconds, you will die. Otherwise, you will live.

Additional Info

This is my second time creating a Hero concept, so I'm still pretty new to this. Any suggestions? I'd be happy to hear.

I'd love to have Darion be in the game, and I think he'd be a perfect fit for the second multiclass hero.
