Darion Mograine + Ghoul, a double hero (stub)

Unholy Death Knight

Darion Mograine is an unholy death knight that uses Runes instead of mana; max. 6 runes available at a time. Note that all damage numbers below are basic values and are quite arbitrary at the time.

The Ghoul is Darion Mograine's servant and a tank who spends energy to use his simpler abilities and accompanies the Death Knight; max. 100 energy. Energy restores fast and automatically.

Like Cho'Gall, these heroes must always be in tandem, i.e. neither can be picked if the other one is absent. In the description below, Primary Abilities are those of Mograine, Secondary Abilities are those of the Ghoul.

STRENGTHS:
  • Efficient waveclear;
  • Some crowd-control;
  • High sustained damage;
  • Flexible heroic choice: both offensive and defensive options available;
  • Can boost the survivability of their team, acting as a semi-support.

WEAKNESSES:
  • Low mobility;
  • Darion Mograin has limited health;
  • The Ghoul is not as durable as a full-fledged tank unless the Sludge Belcher heroic is taken;
  • No real burst damage unless Gargoyle/Dark Arbiter is taken;
  • Mograine's ultimates require very precise timing;
  • Might be difficult to play for beginners, as both require very strong cooperation.

Combat Trait

Raise Dead
Cooldown: 1 minute

Channel for 1 second to resurrect the Ghoul with 50% health and teleport him to your location. If the Ghoul is alive, sacrifice 50% of your health to restore 50% of the Ghoul's on a separate 30-second cooldown. Unlimited range.

Death Pact
Cooldown: 1 minute

Channel for 1 second to resurrect Mograine with 50% health and teleport him to your location. If Mograine is alive, channel to spend 10% of your health per second and heal Mograine for the same amount (not %). Channeling lasts until canceled and can kill the Ghoul. Unlimited range.

Primary Abilities

Virulent Plague
1 rune, 2 charges, recharge: 6 seconds

Infect the target and all enemies nearby with Virulent Plague that deals 40 damage per second over 4 seconds. If Virulent Plague expires or its target dies, it erupts, dealing 70 damage to all enemies nearby. If it infects three or more players or player-controlled entities, consume 1 additional rune.

Epidemic
1 rune, 3 charges, recharge: 4 seconds

Causes all targets infected with Virulent Plague to erupt. If it affects three or more players or player-controlled entities, consume 1 additional rune.

Dark Transformation
1 rune, cooldown: 20 seconds

Transform the Ghoul into a Monstrosity for 7 seconds to increase their damage by 50% and empower their abilities.

Secondary Abilities

Gnaw
50 energy, cooldown: 12 seconds

Leap onto the target to deal 200 damage and stun it for 0.75 seconds. Monstrosity: charge into the target and stun them and all targets on the way for 0.75 seconds.

Huddle
50 energy, cooldown: 20 seconds

Huddle to reduce all damage taken by 60% and restore 10% health per second, preventing other actions for until canceled.

Sweeping Claws
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Stun yourself for 0.5 seconds to restore all of Mograine's depleted runes. Not usable when dark-transformed.

Passive: the Ghoul's every 5th basic attack cleaves and deals its damage to all targets in an arc in front of the Ghoul. Monstrosity: every basic attack cleaves.

Heroic Abilities

Ebon Gargoyle
50 energy, cooldown: 50 seconds

Summon an Ebon Gargoyle that attacks its target with shadowbolts once per second, dealing 180 damage per shadowbolt. The Gargoyle casts up to seven shadowbolts unless killed earlier. Recast to change the target.

This is the Ghoul's ability.

Anti-Magic Zone
2 runes, cooldown: 80 seconds

Place a large Anti-Magic Zone at the targeted location that lasts 5 seconds and gives all your allies standing in it 60 Spell Armor. Unlimited range.

This is Mograine's ability.

Dark Simulacrum
1 rune, cooldown: 20 seconds

Place a Dark Simulacrum on an enemy hero to gain a free untalented copy of their next ability. Copied Heroics have their damage, healing, and duration halved. Recast within 5 seconds to use the copy. Passive effect: your basic attacks become ranged and 20% stronger, dealing Spell damage.

This is Mograine's ability.

Sludge Belcher
You permanently turn into the Sludge Belcher to increase your damage by 15% and health by 25%. Sludge Belcher has a different set of abilities and can be dark-transformed into an Abomination:
  1. Hook, cooldown: 18 seconds. Throw a hook and pull the first target it hits towards the Sludge Belcher. The target is silenced for 0.5 seconds. Abomination: pull up to two consecutively hit targets without silencing them.
  2. Huddle. Same as the Ghoul.
  3. Sweeping Machete. Active: same as the Ghoul's, not usable when dark-transformed. Passive: The Sludge Belcher’s attacks always deal damage in a cone in front of it. Abomination: basic attacks also create a gas cloud in the affected area. Gas clouds last 4 seconds and deal 50 damage per second to enemies standing in them whilst also reducing their movement speed by 25%. Damage and speed reduction by multiple gas clouds does not sum.

Special Mount

Master's Call
The Ghoul can't ride mounts and instead uses his Z to instantly teleport to Mograine's lcoation on a 30-second cooldown.

LEVEL 20 HEROIC UPGRADES

Dark Arbiter
Summon a Valkyrie that attacks its target with chain lightning that deals 180 damage to the primary target and 90 splash damage to nearby secondary targets. The Valkyrie casts up to 5 chain lightnings unless killed earlier. Recast to change the target.

Acherian Fortitude
The Anti-Magic Zone also cancels crowd-control effects targeted at your allies it protects, making them Unstoppable for 1 second instead. Placing the Anti-Magic Zone cleanses the already applied crowd-control effects. Cleansing only occurs up to five times per zone.

The Darkest Simulacrum
Heroic abilities copied by the Dark Simulacrum are now fully talented per the original owner

LEVEL 1 TALENTS (Mograine)

Unholy Bond, passive
While the Ghoul or Sludge Belcher is alive and close to you, gain 25% rune regeneration speed. While the Ghoul or Sludge Belcher is far from you, gain 15% spell damage.

Vampirism, active, cooldown: 60 seconds
Empower your nearby allies with Vampirism that lasts 10 seconds and heals them for 10% of their Hero damage.

Corpse Explosion, active, cooldown: 45 seconds
Enemy minions and players now leave their corpses upon death. A corpse exists for 5 seconds and can be exploded to heal your allies standing in the explosion radius for 100% of the corpse owner

Yep, this is entirely based on Unholy Deathknight's Legion iteration rather than lore; as someone who has been maining a DK since late WotLK, I really like the latest version of Unholy the most.
