Deathwing

The Destroyer

Background: formerly known as Neltharion the Earth-Warder, he was one of the five Dragon Aspects and leader of the black dragonflight. Thousands of years ago, Neltharion was empowered by the Titans with dominion over the earth and the deep places of Azeroth. However, driven mad by the Old Gods, he turned against the other Aspects during the War of the Ancients. Among both mortals and dragons his name became one whispered with a feeling of fear and contempt.

Design Philosophy:
A Juggernaut that shuts down burst damage with his elementium plating and overpowers his foes in his dragon form. While generally countered by kiting he also has a short burst of mobility with his Earth Breaker that allows him to dive into fights and disrupt enemies with Ravage. This specialization against burst damage leaves him vulnerable to sustained damage as his elementium plating is wasted on small but consistent damage and he is left vulnerable for a time when his plating has been stripped from him.

Combat Trait

Dragon Form
Cooldown: 150 seconds

After a 1 second delay, transform into a colossal dragon and gain 1000 maximum health and restore all elementium plating charges. Deathwing's basic attacks become ranged (5.5) fireballs that deal 183 (+4%/level) damage to the target and nearby enemies. Basic abilities gain enhanced effects while in dragon form. Lasts 18 seconds.

Primary Abilities

Earth Breaker
Ability Key: Q
Mana Cost: 65
Cooldown: 9 seconds

Leap toward a target location and slam your mace on the ground as you land after 1 second (regardless of distance) and deal 155 (+4%/level) damage to enemies hit and throw them into the air for 0.5 seconds.

Dragon Form: Increases the area of effect by 100% and causes Deathwing to lunge to the target area and lands after 0.5 seconds (regardless of distance) knocking up enemies into the air for 0.5 seconds and deal 200 (+4%/level) damage to them.

Amalgamation
Ability Key: W
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 16 seconds

Regenerates 30% of maximum health over 6 seconds and reduces the cooldown of gaining an elementium plating charge to 3 seconds for the duration.

Dragon Form: Increases healing to 50% of maximum health and instantly restores an elementium plating charge when activated.

Elementium Plating (Passive): Gain a charge of elementium plating every 9 seconds up to 3 charges. each charge reduces ability damage taken by 85% and consumes a charge while doing so. At zero charges, Deathwing loses 10 armor.

Ravage
Ability Key: E
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Deathwing swings his mace in a circle around him, knocking back enemies and dealing 147 (+4%/level) damage to them. The swing also ignites the air in the area creating a firestorm for 3 seconds that deals 50 (+4%/level) damage per second to enemies in the area and grants 25 spell armor to allies in the area.

Dragon Form: After a 0.5 second delay, releases a nova of fire that deals 187 (+4%/level) damage to all enemies in a large area around Deathwing and ignites them dealing an additional 150 (+4%/level) damage over 3 seconds and reduces their damage dealt by 25% for the duration.

Secondary Abilities

Corrupting Parasite
Cooldown: 60 seconds

Deals 200 (+4%/level) damage over 10 seconds and instantly deals 100 (+4%/level) damage at the last second.

Eruption
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Go underground and travel to your chosen location at high speed. Upon arriving you erupt from the ground and damage enemies with lava. Deals 200 (+4%/level) damage. Each enemy hero hit reduces the cooldown of dragon form by 5 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Cataclysm
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 110 seconds

Transforms into dragon form and flies across the battleground; spewing molten fire in a line that ignites the ground it hits. Deals an initial 325 (+4%/level) damage and an additional 225 (+4%/level) over 5 seconds. Deathwing then lands back on the location he cast the ability from after 3 seconds.

Upgrade: Sundering Flame

Increases the flame width by 25% and the center area becomes unpathable while burning.

Blood Corruption
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 85 seconds

Places a blood curse on a target hero for 8 seconds. If it is an enemy they are affected with Death Corruption causing them to take 10% of Deathwing's Current Health in damage per second and explode and deal 250 (+4%/level) damage to nearby enemies if the target dies while affected by the ability. If it is an ally they are affected with Earth Corruption causing them to gain 10 armor per second. Cannot be used on Deathwing.

Upgrade: Congealing Blood
Each time the target takes damage they leave behind a blob of corrupted blood. These blobs move toward Deathwing when he is nearby and heal him for 5% of his maximum health when they are absorbed by him. Cannot create more than 1 blood blob every second.

Talents

LEVEL 1

Ground Splitter (Quest) - Hit enemy heroes 20 times with Earth Breaker.
Reward: Each enemy hero hit reduces the cooldown of Dragon Form by 10 seconds and increases basic attack damage by 15% when Earth Breaker is not on cooldown.

Volcanic Fissure - (Quest) - Hit enemy heroes 100 times with Ravage's firestorm.
Reward: Causes an eruption of lava after 1 second of the Firestorm's location that knocks enemy units into the air for 1 second and deals 165 (+4%/level) damage.

Residual Barrier (E) - Elementium Plating now increases armor by 3 for each charge that is missing.

LEVEL 4

Absorb Blood (W) - After using Amalgamation, the next regeneration globe restores 200% more health and 50% more mana.

Crystallizing Armor (W) - Elementium Plating also reduces the basic attack damage of the attacker by 25% for 1 second. Does not stack.

Corrupting Parasite - Activate to attach a parasite at an enemy that causes 200 (+4%/level) damage over 10 seconds and deals 100 (+4%/level) damage when the parasite expires.

LEVEL 7

Ancient Fervor (Q) - Gain 25% increased attack speed for 1 second after landing. The duration is increased to 3 seconds if an enemy hero is hit.

Burning Blood (W) - While Amalgamation is active, enemies that attack you take damage for 20% of the damage they dealt.

Corrupted Ground (E) - Enemies hit have their healing and regeneration reduced by 50% for 3 seconds.

LEVEL 10 (See Heroic Abilities)

LEVEL 13

Aftershock (Q) - Earth Breaker's cooldown is reduced to 3 seconds if it does not hit an enemy hero.

Elementium Shrapnel (W) - When an elementium plating charge is consumed deal 80 (+4%/level) damage to enemies around you.

Crushing Impact (E) - Enemies that are knocked back are also rooted for 1 second.

LEVEL 16

Aspect of Death (Trait) - Heroic takedowns extend the duration of Dragon Form or the next use of it by 3 seconds.

Earth Warder (Quest) - Consume a total of 60 elementium plating charges including those used so far.
Reward: Elementium Plating can now store up to 4 charges and reduces the charge cooldown by 2 seconds.

Agony (Passive) - Basic attacks slow enemies by 10% up to 40%. At 40% slow, the next basic attack will stun the enemy for 1 second and deal 5% of their maximum health in damage.

LEVEL 20

Eruption - Travels to a target location underground at high speed and bursts from the ground burning enemies with lava.

Death Warder - Become invulnerable for 3 seconds when taking fatal damage.

The concept is nice but I think his damage is very high, basically, his Q deals more damage than kael'thas Q with trait activated. Also his first ultimate, basically deals almost 2x more, if you count the damage over 5 seconds, deals almost 3x more damage than nova's precision strike, it's a global ultimate and gives you global mobility, that's a lot.

Editing: The other ultimate makes you invulnerable for 4 seconds and also heal you in the same quantity, also deals damage. Your W also is very broken.

It's a very good concept man but if I understood this would be very very very broken.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah everything is still a rough draft. He is just meant to be a battle tank where he just focuses on attack and defense with little to no crowd control his only CC is just there to help him latch onto prey.

On his ult it is basically a beefed up Global Sindragosa attack with no slow/freeze so you still have to be mindful where you cast it.
For W yeah I admit it is pretty broken but it was all I could come up with at the time. A new idea came to me from playing D3 which I will apply to this concept. I'll get to work on fine tuning his numbers on the next edit.
