Deckard Cain & Leah [WIP]

Last of the Horadrim

Deckard Cain is a wise man. However his old bones make him slow and fragile. He stays back in town, identifies Horadric Artifacts and provides buffs for his allies. His assistance and adoptive daughter Leah on the other hand explores the width of the Nexus collecting Horadric Artifacts for her uncle. The diabolical mysteries slumbering within her affect her abilities...

Now a few notes on the hero itself:
- Deckard Cain & Leah are two serperate heroes controlled by one player - just like the lost vikings, this time with 2 instead of 3 heroes. You can play either Deckard Cain or Leah by activating your trait.
- When Leah kills enemies, she collects Horadric Artifacts that serve her uncle as a resource.
- Horadric Artifact Drop Ratio: Minions 1,Mercenaries 3, Boss 10 and Heroes 5.

Deckard Cain
- Deckard Cain can't leave the Altar (that is the area where you start the match) and his abilities have global range.
- I want to avoid that you have to switch on Deckard Cain every few seconds, because that is not fun and Leah can't really participate in team fights. So Deckard Cains' spells have long cooldown, long duration and high resource cost. They must all be meaningful and impactful, but not overpowered and spamable since it is a two-heroes-hero.
His spells:
[Q] -> power and attack speed buff
[W] -> uncover an area on the map
[E] -> armor and health buff
[R-1] -> deactivate the heroic ability of an enemy

Leah
- Leah is the active hero that you can play like any other hero. She is the resource generator for Deckard Cain's abilites.
- Her abilities are affected by diablo since she is possessed by him.
- Leah is an archer that is strong against structures and minions.
Her spell:
[Q] -> Trap that deals damage over time
[W] -> arrow spell that deals more damage to foes affected by the trap spell
[E] -> Defensive Spell that reflects damage taken
[R-1] -> spawn an evil duplicate of leah that deals damage

Talents:
- At level 1 and 13, Deckard Cain gives his team Group Quests. Your whole team can contribute to the Group Quest.

Horadric Artifacts
When Leah kills enemies, she collects Horadric Artifacts that serve her uncle as a resource. Activate to change from Deckard Cain to Leah and vice versa.

Deckard Cain - [Q] Book of Cain
Horadric Artifacts: 32
Cooldown: 120

Identify the hidden power within an allied hero's weapon increasing his Basic Attack damage by 10% and his Attack Speed by 10% for 2 minutes.

Deckard Cain - [W] Eye of Tal Rasha
Horadric Artifacts: 18
Cooldown: 60

Uncover an area on the battlefield. This effect lasts until Eye of Tal Rasha is used again.

Deckard Cain - [E] Save the Nephalem
Horadric Artifacts: 32
Cooldown: 120

Save with an ally increasing his Armor by 10% and his Health by 10% for 2 minutes.

Leah - [Q] Fiery Rune Trap
Mana: 65
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Place a rune on the ground. After a short delay, deal 218 (+4% per level) damage over 5 seconds and slow enemies in the target area for 2.5 seconds by 20%. The Trap does 50% more damage to Structures.

Leah - [W] Splintering Arrows
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 6 seconds


Fire three arrows that deal (174 +4% Per Level) damage to your targets then splinter hitting all nearby enemies for (35 +4% Per Level) damage if they are affected by Fiery Rune Trap. Can hit an enemy multiple times.

Leah - [E] Mysterious Shroud
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 15 seconds

For 3 seconds, whenever you take damage from a Basic Ability, 25% of the damage are reflected back to its attacker.

Cooldown: 240 seconds

Reveal the Secret Knowledge of the Horadrim and deactivate the Heroic Ability of an enemy for 45 seconds.

Leah - [R-1] Evil Within
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 60 seconds

The Evil within Leah manifests as a Shadow Duplicate that attacks your enemies for 10 seconds.

Talents

Level 1: --> Deckard Cain's first Groupquest Talents [!]
(1) Full Armory: [!]Group Quest: Kill 100 Minions. -> [!]Reward: The damage of your minions is increased by 15%.
(2) Tower Reinforcements: [!]Group Quest: Destroy 4 Towers. -> [!]Reward: The damage of your Towers is increased by 25%.

Level 4: --> Leah's Fiery Rune Trap Talents [Q]
(1) Painful Trap: Increases the damage of Fiery Rune Trap by 10%.
(2) Endless Spikes: Increases the radius of Fiery Rune Trap by 20%.
(3) Wrecking Ball: Structures hit by Fiery Rune Trap take 20% additional damage.

Level 7: --> Leah's Splintering Arrows Talents [W]
(1) Haedrig's Bowstring: Increases the range of Splintering Arrows by 20%.
(2) Crippling Charge: Splintering Arrows slows by 20% for 2.5 seconds.
(3) All Munition: Splintering Arrows fire an additional arrow.

Level 10: --> Ultimate Talents [R]
(1) Deckard Cain - Secret Knowledge: Reveal the Secret Knowledge of the Horadrim and deactivate the Heroic Ability of an enemy for 45 seconds.
(2) Leah - Evil Within: The Evil within Leah manifests as a Shadow Duplicate that attacks your enemies for 10 seconds.


Level 13: --> Deckard Cain's second Groupquest Talents [!]
(1) Keep out: [!]Group Quest: Destroy 1 Keep. -> [!]Reward: All your Keeps get 25% shield each.
(2) : [!]Group Quest: Destroy 12 Catapults. -> [!]Reward: All your Catapults have 200% more health.

Level 16: --> Leah's Mysterious Shroud Talents [E]
(1) Quick Ending: When Mysterious Shroud ends, gain 20% Movement Speed for 3 seconds.
(2) Vengeance: Mysterious Shroud reflects damage taken by 35%.
(3) Soothing Touch: Every time you are hit while Mysterious Shroud is active, you are healed by (50 +4% Per Level).


Level 20: --> Heroes of the Storm Talents [R]
(1) Lost Knowledge: Increase Secret Knowledge duration by 33,33% and reveal your enemy every 10 seconds for 2 seconds.
(2) Realm of Terror: Increases Evil Within duration by 50%. When Evil Within ends, the Shadow Duplicate deals (460 + 4% Per Level) damage to enemies nearby.
(3) Bolt of the Storm: Activate to teleport to a nearby location.

That would be nice, but does that risk to toss Deckard Cain from the portrait? I mean by that that Leah, more active than Cain, could eventually be more important than Cain himself. I agree that we need more female characters and Leah has a synergy with Cain, but in my point of view we should respect at first Cain's Knowledge before anything else. I love though the active/passive dynamic of the two heroes! It's awesome!

I really love the ability "Eye of Tal Rasha. I hope, you has nothing against me, when i copy this spell for my own concept of Deckard Cain.

wow, not bad. What happen to Leah on the battlefield, when you activate your trait to switch to Deckard Cain. Did she sleep?

The idea of groupquests are awesome. But on lvl 1 very easy(4 towers, this is nothing) and the reward is only useful till you have some towers. Also 100 minions are automatically killed after the fifth or the eight wave(2-lanemaps).

The groupquest on lvl 13 is the same. What happen when the enemy dont have any keep to destroy for complete quest? Also this is only useful till you have some keeps.

I love your concept of using leah to doing quest and going back to Deckard Cain(did he can move or stay at the hall?) for let him using mighty supportspells. Really innovative and i hope to see this one time in the nexus.
But not all spells are fit till yet in my opinion.

Also you should discripe more the function of this partnerworking gameplay.

will work on your advices, can you give me specific spells that do not work/do not fit the hero? will work on it & update asap!

I have some ideas about questtalents(no smart names). Should be availabe on lvl 1,4 or 7:

!(Passive): Elixier of the Horadrim: Each time when a allied hero closed to Deckard Cain gain a healthglobe, the Health of this hero will permanently increased by 0,5% of his/her max life, till 10%. When this bonus reached 10%, also his healthregeneration is increased by 50%.


!(Passive): Hunt for the Horadrim: Each time a allied hero closed to Deckard Cain is parting of a herokill, the ability power of this ally is permanently increased by 1%. Till 10%. When this bonus reached 10%, also increase the manaregeneration of the allied hero by 25%.


!(Passive): The search of Wirts leg: Each time a minion dies closed to a allied hero at closed range to Deckard Gain, this hero deal 0,5% more damage against non heroic enemys. Till 25%. When 4 allied heroes reached there bonus of 25%, Deckard Cain becomes wirts leg and his movementspeed is permanently increased by 25%. His basic-movementspeed is maybe only 75%?

Firstly i ask again: Did you just controll Leah while Deckard Cain stay at hall of the storms or are both moveable like the vikings? What is about the range of Deckard Cain spells? Are they global? I cant find this informations in the discription.

It looks really hard to gain enough stacks to use Deckard Cains Spells. I find Eye of Tal Rasha is a mighty and innovative reveal-ability. But im not sure about the other ones. Specialy his E is really useless in lategame. So Deckard has very less impact at later stage of the game. Maybe a global damage dealing or cc-spell instead of this?

I dont understand the effects of Leahs Splintering Arrows and Mysterious Shrouds.

Also i find on lvl 10 Deckard need a Ultimate, too. Not only Leah. Leahs Lead the Way is more a supportspell(more fit with the supporter of both, Deckard).

All in all both chars need more possibilitys to working together. Leah need maybe more Quest-talents which need the cooperation with Deckard Cain. Maybe i have later some ideas by myself.

And can you improve the talentsection? The readers dont know which abilitys the talents improve.
