Defiler

Defiler

Nothing good ever comes out of the presence of a defiler. Defiler specializes in corrupting and poisoning all things around him. His body is a host to an untold number of parasites which he uses to great effect to poison and contaminate the enemy. Hosting these parasites doesn't come free. Defiler must constantly feed his gracious guests, and he doesn't care if the food is friendly of foe.

Defiler is a ranged specialist that disrupts and damages the enemy team while providing damage mitigation and control for the friendly team. Defiler specializes in countering heavy ranged auto attack teams and strong heroes who rely on shields to get them through the fight.

Defilers mana does not refill automatically. Instead he must consume friendly minions to regain spent mana. Defiler gains x mana upon hero takedown.

Combat Trait

Burrow
Burrow underground and enter stealth. Cannot move. While burrowed, defiler is able to use abilities.

Primary Abilities

Q - Plague
Sprays all units in a target area with spores that inflicts x damage per second for a maximum of x seconds. 'Plague' will not kill units and leaving at least 1 hit point. Plague does not drain shields but will affect the hit points underneath regardless of shield strength. Affected cloaked units will be revealed.

W - swarm cloud
Shields units in a large area from ranged attacks. Ranged attacks with splash damage only deal minimal splash damage. Damage from cast abilities are unaffected.

E- Consume
Kill a friendly minion to gain x mana.

Heroic Abilities

Fungal growth
Apply fungal growth to an enemy team member. Enemy members movement speed is drastically reduced and becomes vunerable. Lasts 3 seconds.

Neural Parasites
Target enemy hero's attack speed is reduced by 25% for 4 seconds. If that enemy hero dies, Neural parasite will spread to a nearby enemy hero.

Special Mount

1
Roll
Defiler cannot mount, but instead curls up into a ball and rolls.

Hero guide

Defiler is very team focused. His skills all focus around damaging and controlling the enemy team and movements through AoE spells and skillshots which drastically debuff the enemy damage and whittle down their health.

His wide range of debuffing abilities is balanced out by his poor AA damage, and the need to consume friendly minions to maintain mana. Caught by himself he is very vunerable.

Defiler can burrow in preparation for a gank or teamfight and can throw out spells from the relative safety of his cloaked burrow. Damage or revealing talents will reveal defiler, which makes him very vulnerable to being burst down.

Talents

(somewhat complete skill tree - still thinking up some ideas)

Lvl 1:
Metasynaptic node - defilers maximum energy is increased by x mana.
parasite - enemies hit by plague will be revealed for an additional 2 seconds

Lvl 4:
Lingering illness - plague lasts an addition 2 seconds.
Increased digestion - minions consumed grants more mana

Lvl 7:
Dense swarm - enemy units within swarm cloud have a 10% movement reduction
corosive swarm - dark swarm reduces armor of enemy heroes.

Lvl 10:

Lvl 13:
volitle cysts- After plague expires, cysts fall off of the enemy unit and land on the ground. After 2 seconds, the cysts explode, dealing a small AoE damage.


Lvl 16:
Swarm host - Casting Swarm Cloud also casts a second untalented swarm cloud on your location.

Lvl 20:
z: hardened Carapace - take significantly reduced damage while balled up. Damage taken will not dismount you.
Airborn - Neural parasites spread further and can affect 2 hosts.
Overwhelmed- Fungal growth roots the hero in place.

I see you try to transform the good old Defiler 1:1 into a HotS-Hero. Here are some minds of mine:

It´s hard to envisage, thats this

can roll like a ball and move this way.

Also (E)Consume is a really weak ability.

And why need a specialist a supportability like Swarm Cloud?

Medivh is more a utility-supporter then a pusher-specialist. His Portals(E) can also used by allied Heroes and his ravenform has very much scouting value. Im not sure what role this defiler want to be.^^ Swarmcloud(why not dark swarm?) is his only support-ability. Plague looks like a damagespell(assasin/mage), Consume is a utility-ability with has only value, when any other ability cost very much mana(should be a talent active or combat trait in my opinion). His ultimates are both debuffs. His Combat-trait is not very usefull by this abilitys he can use. Sorry for say it, but i see no sense in this kit.
