Lord of Dread

Dreadlord Aggressive Support concept

After the outcry following Stukov's release, I figured a series of irritating character/role designs was in order. This Dreadlord concept is built around the Vampiric Aura from WC3.

Combat Trait

1
Vampiric Aura
All heroes within a range of 6 around the Dreadlord will heal 5% of the damage they deal to enemy heroes.

Primary Abilities

Carrion Swarm
A swarm of bats travels in a widening arc in front of the Dreadlord and deals 150 damage (+4% per level). All minions and heroes struck by Carrion Swarm return 20% of the damage as healing to all allied heroes in range of Vampiric Aura. Cooldown 6 seconds

Sleep
Sleep can be cast on enemies OR allies. If cast on an enemy, the enemy sleeps for 1.5 seconds. If cast on an ally, that ally sleeps for 3 seconds and regens 2.5% health and 5% mana every second. Any damage breaks the sleep effect. Cooldown 14 seconds

Dark Fissure
Dreadlord channels for 1 second. Afterwards, a dark fissure opens up under the nearest enemy in range of Vampiric Aura (prefers heroes over minions). Dark fissure lasts for 3 seconds and deals 120 damage (+4% per level) per second. Cooldown 8 seconds

Heroic Abilities

Alone in the Darkness
Dreadlord steps through the darkness, teleporting a max range of 5 and clings to an enemy hero. The enemy's move speed is reduced by 80% for 3 seconds. Dreadlord bites the enemy and heals himself for 10% health every .5 seconds while also doing 5% damage to the enemy every .5 seconds. Any damage done by allies within Vampiric Aura during this time heals for an additional 5% of damage dealt.

Infernal
Passive

On selecting this ability, a meteor falls from the sky and strikes the allied core. A massive infernal replaces the core. Current health and shields on the core are maintained. Core damage is increased by 20%.

In addition, all of Dreadlord's abiltiies inflict Infernal Fire. Infernal Fire burns enemies for 25 damage per second for 3 seconds. ANY enemy unit--not just heroes--affected by Infernal Fire heals allied heroes in range of Vampiric Aura.

Level 1 Talents

Rune of the Nathrezim

Quest

Hit 40 heroes with Dark Fissure

Reward

Dark Fissure will now leave an invisible rune on the ground after it dissipates. Enemies that touch the rune will be slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. Runes don't disappear until they have been triggered.

Scourge of Bats

Quest

Heal 10,000 damage with Carrion Swarm.

Reward

Now when enemy heroes are hit by Carrion Swarm, bats swarm around that hero's head for 2 seconds afterwards. Allies that attack enemies with swarms over their heads will receive an additional 5% healing while in range Vampiric Aura.

Narcolepsy

Quest

Put allies to sleep for a total of 60 seconds AND put enemies to sleep for a total of 30 seconds.

Reward


When used on enemies, Sleep can not be broken by damage.

Level 4 Talents

Orb of Corruption

Dreadlord's attack becomes ranged and deals an additional 20 damage, but he no longer benefits from Vampiric Aura.

Glow in the Dark

Dark Fissure grants vision.

Gale of Shadows

Dreadlord gains a 20% movement bonus when moving towards heroes in range of Vampiric Aura.

Level 7 Talents

Dark Pact

Active

Consume 10% of Dreadlord's health to put a 10% shield on an allied hero. Shield lasts until broken or Dark Pact is cast again.

Nocturnal Mass

Carrion Swarm activates in a wider arc and holds two charges.

Sanguine Thirst

Vampiric Aura grants an additional 1% healing per hero (allied or enemy) in range of Vampiric Aura.

Level 13 Talents

Ghoulish Delight

Dreadlord's abiltiies cause the next attack to heal him for 55 (+4% per level) Health.

Dread Resistance

Allied heroes who are afflicted with a stun, root, or silence affect while in range of Vampiric Aura have the duration reduced by 60%.

Good Night's Sleep

Allied heroes afflicted by Dreadlord's Sleep are immune to all other forms of CC.

Level 16 Talents

Sleepless in the Battle

Sleep now only slows allies and enemies by 30% instead of putting them to sleep.

Thal'Kituun

Casting Carrion Swarm causes Dreadlord to become invisible for 2 seconds.

Grim Ritual

Allies standing in Dark Fissures receive 20 armor.

Level 20 Talents

Necrotic Embrace

Alone in the Darkness now stuns the target, slows surrounding targets by 50%, and applies the healing effect for EACH enemy hero affected.

Legion

An infernal spawns at core and follows a random wave on EACH wave spawn. Infernals ignore armor and deal AOE fire damage around them.

Iron Wings

Dreadlord takes 60% reduced damage from behind.
