DISCLAIMER


This is an extremely barebones version of the final build, everything (and I mean everything) is subject to future change -- this version still requires visual polish, rebalancing, talents, stats for Duriel, skin ideas, and abilities may be subject to scrapping and reworks.

Combat Trait

Ignore Pain
Taking damage increases Duriel's armor by 3%, up to 15%, for 2 seconds. Taking damage at maximum armor refreshes the duration and increases it by 0.5 second.

Endure Torment
Duriel gains pain when taking damage.
Taking damage makes him gain 5 Pain.

This ability can be triggered to switch to Sadism.

Sadism
Disabling Pain
Duriel reduces enemy's armor and movement speed by 1% for 3 seconds when he deals damage to them. This stacks up to a 10% armor and movement speed loss, stacking refreshes the duration.

Sadistic Satisfaction
Duriel gains pain when inflicting damage.
Auto Attacks make him gain 5 Pain.

This ability can be triggered to revert back to Masochism.

Primary Abilities

Agony [Q]

Pain Cost : 10
Mode : Both

Duriel targets an enemy and applies a mark to them for 2 seconds. The next time Duriel damages the enemy while the mark is on them, he applies a burn that deals 10 (+5/level) damage per second for 5 seconds, and gains him 3 Pain every time it deals damage.

When Masochistic
Duriel also inflicts a burn on himself that deals 5 (+5/level) damage for 3 seconds. This damage can trigger Ignore pain, Revel In Suffering and Endure Torment.

When Sadistic
Duriel also doubles the armor loss from Disabling Pain for 3 seconds.

Lash's Bite [W]

Pain Cost : 0
Sadistic Only

Duriel whips at an enemy with his tongue, dealing 50 (+10/level) damage, ignoring both positive and negative armor. This spells generates 5 Pain.
If targetted at an enemy under the effects of Agony, deals extra damage equal to 2.5% of their maximum health and generates 10 Pain instead.

This ability becomes Lash's Kiss when Masochistic.

Masochistic Only

Duriel rends his own flesh, dealing 75 (+17.5/level) damage to himself, applying a self heal that heals him for 30 (+7.5/level) health per second for 5 seconds and triggering Ignore Pain three times. This ability triggers Endure Torment, and generates 10 Pain. The self-heal can stack up to three times, increasing the healing amount by 20 (+5/level) each time and increasing the current duration by 3 seconds. Stacking the heal over time effect increases the next cooldown of this ability by 1 second.

This ability becomes Lash's Bite when Sadistic.

Torturer's Brand [E]

Range : Melee
Pain Cost : 70
Sadistic Only

Duriel brands the target enemy hero, dealing an instant 100 (+35/level) damage plus an extra 50 (+5/level) damage every second for 3 seconds.
Torturer's brand can be used on an enemy marked by Agony to instantly deal all the damage associated with Agony instantly.

Duriel stops generating pain for 1.5 second after casting Torturer's brand.

This ability becomes Scarred Flesh when Masochistic.

Masochistic Only

Duriel becomes protected for 2 seconds, after which he is healed for all the damage absorbed. This healing number cannot be lower than 10% of Duriel's maximum health -- if he would take anything less, he is automatically healed for 10% of his maximum HP. After the protection fades away, Duriel's armor is reduced by 10% for 3 seconds.

(Note : While Duriel is protected, he does not effectively take damage, which means his trait will not trigger during this time frame)


This ability becomes Torturer's Brand when Sadistic.

Bloodthirsty Spikes [Base Kit]

Pain Cost : 100
Masochistic Only

Duriel erupts spikes around his body for 5 seconds, taking an immediate 20% of his health as damage, but setting his armor at 50% for the duration. He deals 5 (+2/level) damage to enemies around him for the duration, and is healed for 1% of his health per second for each enemy around, healing is doubled against heroes. The armor gained from this does not conflict with the armor from Duriel's trait ; he can still gain armor from taking damage.

This ability becomes Bloodsthirsty Swipe when Sadistic.

Bloodsthirsty Swipe [Base Kit]
Cooldown : 25 Seconds
Range : Half-Circle AoE (Range similar to Skeletal Swing)
Pain Cost : 40
Sadistic Only

Duriel swipes with his massive claws in front of himself, dealing 50 (+15/level) damage, healing himself for 50% of the damage dealt, 100% if he is at 50% of his health or less. Bloodthirsty Swipe also knocks enemies back, out of the zone, and applies a small dot that deals 1 (+1/level) damage for 15 seconds.
The swipe generates no pain, but the bleed effect generates 1 pain per damage tic.

This ability becomes Bloodthirsty Spikes when Masochistic.

Heroic Abilities

Burn The Old Flesh
Cooldown : Medium-Long
Range : Self
Pain Cost : 100
Masochistic Only

Duriel sets himself afire, triggering Ignore Pain 10 times immediately, but does NOT trigger Endure Torment. He gives himself a burn effect that deals 5% of his health every second for 10 seconds -- this damage IS NOT affected by armor -- and each proc of this damage triggers Ignore Pain, but not Endure Torment. If Duriel survives this, instantly heal him for 100% of his health.

Iron Maiden
Cooldown: Medium
Range : Medium, can be self cast.
Pain Cost : 100
Available in both stances

When Masochistic.
Duriel encases himself in an Iron Maiden, stunning himself for 3 seconds and gaining 100% armor, ignoring the armor cap. While the effect is going, he takes 150 (+20/level) damage per second. This damage does trigger his trait's passives, whatever they may be. When he exits the iron maiden, he gains an extra 25% armor for 5 seconds, and is healed for 15 (+10/level) health per second for 8 seconds.

When Sadistic.
Duriel encases an enemy within an Iron maiden, stunning them for 1.5 second and granting them 50% armor for 3 seconds, ignoring armor caps. After the armor fades, the enemy is dealt 30 (+10/level) damage per second for 3 seconds. When the DoT ends, a 3 second timer begins. At the end of that timer, the enemy takes an immediate 75 (+25/level) damage.

Bloodsucker
Cooldown : Short
Range : Melee
Pain Cost : 25
Sadistic Only

Target limitation : Must have a DoT from Duriel on them.

Duriel bites the enemy hero, re applying any damage over time effects they may have on them, and healing himself for 3% of his maximum health per individual different DoT effect. (E.G : If a target is affected by the DoT from Bloodthirsty Swipe, Agony and torturer's brand, Duriel heals himself for each of them, giving him a heal equal to 9% of his maximum HP.) This also deals 100 (+7.5/level) damage per Duriel DoT on them.

Being targeted by this gives the target a mark that lasts 5 seconds. While the mark is on them, Duriel cannot target them with Bloodsucker.
