when parry is triggered any stacks from riposte on that target are destroyed
A visual indicator would show whether they were on (I) consecutive returned attack or (II). Returning on a target with (II) would proc the parry against them.
Riposte lowers the threshold, effectively circumventing the consecutive mechanic.
stacks from riposte could use a colour code(
II)
hitting a different target then one with a (II) marker would reset it to (0) = "consecutive against same target" mechanic.
If a target had been hit once by riposte, the marker would instead reset to (
I). If a target had been hit by two ripostes it would stay at (
II)
when attacking a different target.
If one target had been hit by two ripostes (
II); and another had been hit by two returned basic attacks (II).
- hitting them both with a riposte would proc parry against both.
- returning a basic attack against the target who had been stacked from returned attacks, would not reset the target stacked by riposte
- returning a basic to the target who was stacked on riposte, would reset the "consecutive" marker on the target stacked by returned attacks.
Visual indicators for stacks and target specific parry could easily be hidden to other players. you would only really need a strong visual aid for, your stack count and when you are being parried. This would mean that talent interactions couldn't turn the parry mechanic into threat, as the opposing tanks and healers might not have all the visual information they need.
