Executor Selendis

Zealot Hero Concept

Selendis is Artanis' student and second-in-command of the Golden Armada, and is a fearsome duelist as well as a skilled fleet commander. While not as physically imposing as many male zealots such as Artanis, she is more than a match for many of them, using her agility and speed to outmaneuver and confuse opponents.

Selendis is a Melee Assassin with superior evasion capabilities.
Selendis is meant to be strong against heroes that rely on their basic attacks. Her Trait allows her to periodically evade enemy basic attacks, and her ability set makes her very good at getting in and out of team fights while dealing damage. Her attack speed is also quite high and her ability to attack while moving is unique among melee heroes, giving her an advantage in chasing after or escaping from enemies.

One of the things I focused on when I made this build was breaking away from the Support or Specialist concept of Selendis. It seems that her appearance as the commander of the fleet Raynor faced in the Wings of Liberty campaign and her appearance as a Carrier hero unit in the Zeratul missions of WoL has cemented her as a fleet commander in the eyes of many SC2 fans.
However, after her appearance in Legacy of the Void, I noticed that she seems to be as adept a fighter as a commander. She is quick to leap to conclusions, somewhat impulsive, and rather closed-minded, all bad traits for a leader. She is a good tactician, but a bad strategist and diplomat. Her place in the Golden Armada was likely earned through her feats in combat, and she is clearly formidable in close quarters. She cut down several male Zealots while she was possessed by Amon, and even went toe to toe with Artanis for a short period before she was freed from Amon's control.
This side of her was the one I wanted to capture in my hero concept for her. Her basic abilities are all geared towards her skill in CQC, but I paid a bit of homage to her role as a leader and a fleet commander in her Heroic abilities. She can summon a Carrier to guard an area and shield and buff her allies.

Stack Duration: 5 sec.
Evasion Duration: 2.5 sec.
Selendis' Basic Attacks grant 1 stack of Duelist. Stacks last 5 seconds, and gaining a new stack refreshes the duration of existing stacks.
After acquiring 12 stacks of Duelist, taking damage from a Basic Attack automatically activates Duelist, causing Selendis to Evade that attack and all subsequent Basic Attacks for 2.5 seconds.

Selendis loses all stacks of Duelist when it activates, but can gain stacks while Duelist is active.



Active
Cooldown: 1 sec.
Activate to toggle Duelist on or off.
Duelist will not automatically trigger while toggled off. Charges of Duelist can still be gathered and stored while Duelist is toggled off.

Selendis dashes through an enemy 3 times over 1.5 seconds, making a Basic Attack each time.
Selendis moves to the opposite side of the target when the ability ends.
Selendis is immune to Roots while Blade Blitz is active.

Selendis charges towards a visible enemy Hero for up to 4 seconds, becoming immune to Slows and gaining 50% increased Movement Speed each second, up to 100%. Upon colliding with her target she will knock them back 2 range and make a Basic Attack against them.
Upon Lightning Dash ending for any reason, Selendis' Movement Speed will decay to normal over 1 second.

Reactivate Lightning Dash to cancel it early.

Secondary Abilities

Range: N/A
Activate to channel for 2 seconds before teleporting to any location Selendis has vision of.
Tactical Warp Cleanses Selendis after teleporting.

Tactical Warp can be canceled by reactivating it. If Tactical Warp is interrupted or canceled, its cooldown is set to 10 seconds.

This ability requires the level 1 talent Tactical Warp.

Activate to instantly gain all missing charges of Duelist.

This ability cannot be used if Selendis already has 12 stacks of Duelist.

This ability requires the level 4 talent Anticipate.

Heroic Abilities

[R1] Carrier Support
Cooldown: 80 sec.

Duration: 15 sec.
Interceptors: 6
Interceptor Patrol Radius: 12
Interceptor Health: 2
Interceptor Damage: 50
Interceptor Attack Speed: 1/sec.
Summons a Protoss Carrier into orbit above a designated position. The Carrier will launch 6 Interceptors to patrol the surface below the Carrier and attack any enemy that comes too close. After 15 seconds the Carrier warps away.
The Carrier will rebuild 1 destroyed Interceptor every 5 seconds.
The Carrier cannot move from the area it was summoned to.

Interceptors will lock onto a target, dealing 50 damage every second to their target until it dies or flees the area. Interceptors can only share a target if there are too few other enemies in range, and only 2 Interceptors can share the same target.
Interceptors move very quickly, but can be destroyed by 2 Basic Attacks from Heroes or 1 Attack from the Core. They cannot be targeted by non-Heroes or other Structures. Abilities and AoE effects do not affect Interceptors.

The Carrier itself is not actually visible, but its shadow and the area it can deploy Interceptors to can be seen, much like Raynor's Hyperion. Interceptors are visible and Targetable.

Duration: 6 sec.
Selendis and all allied Heroes within 8 range gain a 300 point Shield for 6 seconds. This is increased by 50% for every allied Hero within range, up to a total of 900 Shields.

[Basic Attack] Long Reach
? Quest: Make 20 Basic Attacks.
? Reward: Increases Selendis' Basic Attack range by 0.1, stacking up to 1.

[Basic Attack] Mortal Combat
Taking damage from or Evading enemy Heroes' Basic Attacks increases Selendis' Attack Speed by 10%, stacking up to 50%, for 3 seconds.

[Basic Attack] Reactive Counter
Evading a Basic Attack from an enemy Hero causes Selendis' next Basic Attack to hit twice.

[Active] Tactical Warp
Activate to teleport to anywhere Selendis has vision of after 2 seconds.


Level 4


[Trait] Battle Rush
Selendis heals for 25% of the Physical Damage she Evades and deals while Duelist is active.

[Trait] Partial Deflection
Each stack of Duelist grants 2.5 Physical Armor while Duelist is toggled off.
Each stack of Duelist grants 5 Physical Armor while Duelist is toggled on.

[W] Dizzying Swiftness
Enemies that make Basic Attacks against Selendis while Blade Blitz is active are Blinded for 1.5 seconds.

[Active] Anticipate
Activate to instantly gain all missing stacks of Duelist.


Level 7


[Q] Evasive Maneuver
Increases Withdraw's dash range by 1.
Withdraw is now a vector-targeted ability, allowing the player to select the direction Selendis rolls from the target.

[W] Bladestorm
Blade Blitz attacks damage all enemies within 2.5 range of the target.

[E] Thunder Run
Lightning Dash makes Selendis Unstoppable for its duration and for 0.5 seconds afterwards.
While charging with Lightning Dash, Selendis automatically Basic Attacks any enemy Heroes that pass within her Attack Range.

[Passive] Fleet Footed
Basic Ability attacks grant 30% increased Movement Speed for 2 seconds. Basic Attacks refresh this duration.


Level 13


[Q] Feint
Casting Withdraw on an enemy Hero instantly grants 3 additional stacks of Duelist.

[W] Low Blow
Blade Blitz Roots the target for its duration and Slows them by 50% for 1 second afterwards.

[E] Run-Through
Lightning Dash's attack deals additional damage to its target equal to 8% of their Maximum Health and Roots them for 1 second after knocking them back.

[Passive] Zealotry
If Duelist activates while Selendis is Stunned, Rooted, or Silenced, she becomes Unstoppable for 1 second and the duration of Duelist is extended by 1 second.


Level 16


[Basic Attack] Executor's Blade
Basic Attacks deal additional damage to Heroes equal to 1% of their Maximum Health, tripled against Stunned, Rooted, or Silenced Heroes.

[W] Dance of Blades
Increases the duration of Blade Blitz by 1 second and the number of Basic Attacks by 2.

[E] Zealous Stamina
Lightning Dash's maximum duration is removed, and upon reaching its target Selendis can cast it again for free on a different target within 2 seconds.

[Passive] Flowing Strikes
Casting a Basic Ability reduces the cooldown of Selendis' other Basic Abilities by 2 seconds.


Level 20


[Trait] Untouchable
Evading a Basic Attack from an enemy Hero pauses Duelist's duration timer for 0.5 seconds.

[Passive] Unerring Blade
Selendis' Basic Attacks ignore Evasion effects and Armor.
Missing a Basic Attack while Blinded instantly removes the Blind from Selendis.
