High Tinker

The Gnomes are some of the quirkiest and most brilliant residents of Azeroth. Their elected leader is known as Higher Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque. He has led the Gnome race through difficult times while being a major inventive force behind the Alliance, and now he is ready to test his inventions in the Nexus.

Gelbin is a melee specialist and, like Gazlowe, relies primarily on his inventions to dish out damage. He can have extreme lane presence with his Battle Chicken ability and can even soak lanes while away for a limited period of time with Alarm-o-bot. His Invent ability grants him one of five Inventions that can alter the flow of battle or significantly aid him in surviving or escaping conflict. However, Gelbin comes with a warning label. His Trait is Malfunction, which causes all of his non-heroic abilities to have a chance to Malfunction, causing a different effect. Sometimes these effects may prove useful, but in general they can be described as unpredictable and chaotic, so some caution should be exercised when using his abilities, and it is best to take into account the chance of a Malfunction when using an ability. For example, Net-o-matic Projector's Malfunction pulls you to the enemy and roots both of you in place. When pursuing an enemy with your team this may prove advantageous, but while trying to get away from the enemy this may prove deadly.

His first Heroic ability is Siege Engine. This ability summons a Siege Engine onto the battlefield that can be driven by up to two allied players including Mekkatorque himself. While inside the riders gain multiple abilities, including Ejector Seat, an ability that launches you to the targeted location. Siege Engine's strength lies in its siege damage, no kidding. Its ability to harm enemy Heroes is fair but shouldn't be heavily relied upon in emergency situations. This ability can turn a deadly encounter into a profitable one though. If you or your ally somehow finds themselves behind an enemy gate, drop the Siege Engine nearby so that they can hop in to safety, and then dish out some epic siege damage before Ejector Seating away to safety. But be careful, if the Siege Engine is destroyed you will be placed on the ground directly beneath it, so make sure to use Ejector Seat before that happens if you are overextended.

Makkatorque's second Heroic ability is Blingtron 5000. This generous bot can not only fight off nearby enemies with electricity, but he also provides a bunch of useful buffs to nearby allies as well. Shields, movement speed, mana regen, cooldown reduction. This bot has it all, and he knows it! The buffs last for 5 seconds but you need to be nearby Blingtron when he pulses every 2.5 seconds in order to acquire them. Also be wary that while Blingtron's health is high, he can still be focused by the enemy team and killed, so try not to place him right into the middle of the fray.

Gelbin Mekkatorque is a very unique hero, and possesses pushing and soaking potential that can rival the top dogs of each respective category. But his teamfight potential is inconsistent, and he may even end up getting himself killed if he isn't careful. But despite his malfunctioning inventions, he is ready to duke it out with all the other kings of the Nexus!

Your abilities cost no mana but have a chance to malfunction, causing different effects.

Primary Abilities

Battle Chicken
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Summon a Battle Chicken at your current location to attack nearby enemies and soak experience. The Battle Chicken deals X damage per second, and explodes for X damage on death or expiration. Lasts 12 seconds.

Malfunction: The summoned Battle Chicken has a 10% chance to enrage, running back and forth at random and zapping all nearby enemies for X damage. Lasts 3 seconds and explodes for 100% more damage.

Alarm-o-bot
Cooldown: 16 seconds

Summon an Alarm-o-bot at the target location. The Alarm-o-bot scans the surrounding area every 2 seconds and summons a Battle Chicken at its location if an enemy is detected. Battle Chickens summoned this way benefit from Gelbin's talents and have the same chance to Malfunction. Stealthed enemies detected by the Alarm-o-bot are revealed for 2 seconds. Lasts 18 seconds. Only 2 Alarm-o-bots may be active at once.

Malfunction: The Alarm-o-bot has a 20% chance per scan to fail. Failed scans cause the opposite effect that would normally happen, treating a scan that detects enemies as if no enemies were detected and vice-versa.

Invent
Cooldown: 8 seconds

Craft a random invention that replaces this ability. Once used the Invention is replaced by Invent. Invent's cooldown does not begin until the current Invention has been used.

Invention: World Shrinker
Shrinks the entire world! Gelbin relatively grows in size, gaining 50 armor and dealing 100% more damage with auto-attacks. Lasts 6 seconds.

Malfunction: Has a 20% chance to enlarge the entire world instead! Gelbin relatively shrinks in size, reducing his movement speed by 20% and causing him to take 20% more damage. Lasts 6 seconds.

Invention: Rocket Boots
These stylish boots increase your movement speed by 40% for 3 seconds and free you from all roots and slows.

Malfunction: The gas inside these boots have a 15% chance to combust, causing Gelbin to rapidly sprint in random directions at 80% increased movement speed for 3 seconds and freeing you from all roots and slows!

Invention: Poultryizer
Transform the target into an untalented version of a Battle Chicken. Heroes transformed by this effect revert back to normal after 2.5 seconds.

Malfunction: The target has a 15% chance to accidentally be transformed into a hostile T-rex instead! Run! Luckily the genetic sequencing of the T-rex is unstable and it dies after 8 seconds.

Invention: Cloaking Device
Causes Gelbin to become stealthed for 15 seconds or until he takes or deals damage. Gelbin can cast Battle Chicken, Alarm-o-bot and Invent without losing stealth.

Malfunction: The device has a 10% chance to instead make all enemy Heroes invisible to you for 15 seconds!

Invention: Net-o-matic Projector
Roots the targeted enemy Hero in place for 2 seconds.

Malfunction: There is a 10% chance for the hooks to become entangled in your clothing, pulling you to the targeted enemy and rooting you both in place for 2 seconds!

Heroic Abilities

Siege Engine
Cooldown: 150 seconds

Summon a Siege Engine at the target location. Gelbin and his allies may enter the Siege Engine to gain new abilities while piloting it. Two players may enter the Siege Engine at once and each seat possesses different abilities, with seat 1 controlling Siege Engine movement. The Siege Engine lasts for 30 seconds or until destroyed.

Seat 1:

Ram - Ram all enemies and structures in an area in front of the Siege Engine for X damage, dealing 100% more damage to structures and knocking back enemy Heroes.

Steam Rush - Rush in the chosen direction until you collide with an enemy Hero, structure or wall, dealing X damage to the collision target and X/2 damage to surrounding enemies and structures and stunning them all for 0.5 seconds. Deals 100% more damage to structures. Reactivating this ability will stop the Steam Rush.

Ejector Seat - Launch yourself out of the Siege Engine to the chosen location.

Seat 2:

Fire Cannon - Fire a siege cannon at the targeted location, dealing X damage. Deals 100% more damage to structures.

Shield Generator - Activates the shield generator, granting the Siege Engine a X HP shield.

Ejector Seat - Launch yourself out of the Siege Engine to the chosen location.

Blingtron 5000
Cooldown: 60 seconds

Summon Blingtron 5000 at the target location. Blingtron 5000 will attack any enemy that approaches it with ranged electric shocks for X damage and pulses every 2.5 seconds, granting allied Heroes and minions in the area a X HP shield, 15% movement speed, 2% maximum mana per second and 20% faster cooldowns for 5 seconds. Lasts for 10 seconds or until destroyed.

Level 1 talents

Cluster Cluck

Quest: Deal damage via Battle Chicken auto-attacks.

Reward: After 100 Battle Chicken auto-attacks, Battle Chickens gain 20% increased Attack Speed.

Reward: After 200 Battle Chicken auto-attacks, Battle Chickens gain 30% increased Attack Damage.

Reward: After 300 Battle Chicken auto-attacks, Battle Chicken's cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds and you gain an extra charge.

Intruder Alert!

Alarm-o-bot now reveals all detected enemy Heroes for 6 seconds.

Gnomish Repairs

Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Globe increases the health regeneration of Gelbin and his Battle Chickens by 0.5 per second, up to 30.

Reward: After gathering 30 Globes, Battle Chickens will now collect Regeneration Globes, healing themselves and granting Regeneration Globes to Gelbin and nearby allies. If Gelbin is out of range of the Battle Chicken when this occurs, he will receive half of the Generation Globe healing instead.

Level 4 talents

Jack of All Trades

Quest: Use Inventions.

Reward: After using each Invention three times, reduce Invent's cooldown by 2 seconds.

Reward: After using each Invention five times, cause Invention Malfunctions to heal you for 20% of your maximum health.

Egg Bombs

Battle Chickens lay Egg Bombs every 3 seconds that explode for X damage to nearby enemies after 2 seconds. Malfunctioning Battle Chickens lay Egg Bombs every second.

Hard Boiled

Battle Chickens now prioritize attacking enemy Heroes and their auto-attacks deal 20% more damage when doing so.

Level 7 talents

Master of Fun

When a Malfunctioning Invention effect ends, it casts the Invention again with the same Malfunction chance at the same target. This cycle repeats until the Invention is cast without Malfunction. Additionally, gain 20 armor for 4 seconds every time an Invention Malfunctions.

Annoy-o-tron

Alarm-o-bot now taunts all nearby enemy minions and monsters to attack it and takes 80% reduced damage from those sources.

Spirit of Invention

Invent reduces the remaining cooldown of Battle Chicken and Alarm-o-bot by 6 seconds.

Level 10 talents

level 13 talents

Swan Song

Battle Chickens that do not Malfunction now always Malfunction at the end of their duration.

Alarm-o-coop

Alarm-o-bot now summons two Battle Chickens instead of one, but it has a 10% higher chance of malfunctioning.

Harm Prevention Belt

Cooldown: 60 seconds

Provides you with a X HP shield for 3 seconds.

Malfunction: Taking damage while this shield is active has a 5% chance of placing you into Stasis for 1 second!

Level 16 talents

First Cousin of Invention

Being Stunned or Rooted by an enemy causes your next Invent to not trigger Invent's Cooldown, allowing you to immediately cast Invent again after using an Invention.

Not a Drill!

Alarm-o-bot increases the Attack Speed of nearby Heroes, Battle Chickens and minions by 20% for 3 seconds each time it scans. This effect is doubled for minions.

Companion Bot

Casting Alarm-o-bot on a Hero or minion will cause the Alarm-o-bot to follow that Hero or minion until they die.

Level 20 talents

Big Rigs

Siege Engine's health and duration are doubled.

Make it Rain

Blingtron 5000's beneficial effects are twice as strong and now affect Battle Chickens and Blingtron 5000 itself.

Cluck Cluck and Away

Gelbin now automatically spawns a Battle Chicken every 6 seconds.

Staying Power

Alarm-o-bots now no longer have a limited duration and the maximum number of Alarm-o-bots that may be active at once is increased to 3.
