Born in the former Confederate capital world Tarsonis, Horace Warfield first enlisted as a marine with the Confederate Armed Forces. Rising fast across the ranks on grounds of valor, tactical brilliance, and decisive action, he first met the would-be Emperor Arcturus Mengsk, who was then a Confederate officer on the planet Sonyan in the Guild Wars, a conflict between the three Terran factions of Umoja, Kel-Morian Combine, and the Confederacy. As the war went on, the two will become fast friends, even after Arcturus left the military, withdrawing duty when Korhal IV, Arcturus' homeworld, got nuked due to rebellion. He, along with his loyal crew aboard the battlecruiser Iron Justice went AWOL, evading Confederate forces, and passing crucial intel to the newly-born Sons of Korhal, which was led by none other than his former comrade.
After the overthrow of the Confederacy, Warfield was named General for his army. Some years after the Brood War, Gen. Warfield was put in charge of Project Shadowblade, which was intended to produce next-gen Ghosts that later would call themselves Spectres. After the project has gone awry, Gen. Warfield shut down the project and ending his career, retiring shortly.
Three years later, however, he was called out of retirememt by the Emperor Arcturus Mengsk, counting on his expertise to lead the fight against the Zerg, culminating with him joining Prince Valerian's expedition to Char, surviving a brutal defense by Kerrigan's Zerg Swarms. But alas, things never last forever, as when the Raiders pulled out of Char, they left Warfield and his men to guard Char. When the Dominion captured Raynor, Kerrigan went on a mission to collect her former Swarm and use it to exact vengeance on Emperor Mengsk. Gen. Warfield and his men bravely tried to defend their base on the Dauntless Plateau, but ultimately failing to Kerrigan's newly-reacquired Zerg, his choice of words for Kerrigan proving to be his undoing, and his death, 3 dropships full of wounded bearing witness to the horrors of that battle on Char. Now in the Nexus, Gen. Warfield demonstrates his supreme tactical genius, and unmatched valor.
Trait- Interesting design from a mechanical standpoint, but really, I dont think anyone finds it exciting to go from a literal hand cannon mode to a man who punches thing.
Not only that, but traits should be the focal point of most if not all heores. It should be more or less what defines them. Your trait just affects one ability which is lackluster. If you wanted to do that style of play, go all the way, make it effect your entire basic kit and balance it around that.
And before I go into the rest of the kit, I dont even know what you want him to be, a tank or bruiser.
Q- So when its in hand mode, its literally Dehaka's drag without the pull, and half the cd? Pretty boring to be honest
Q2- Is neat but you dont mention if its AoE, point and click, skillshot, or what. If its literally identifical to how Arcane flare on BW works you probably wanna make it more unique but the idea is ok
W- Is worded weird and doesn't make sense to me. Raise your armor by 5, then mitigate 25% damage? So....raising your armor by 25, not 5? Also bonus armor lasting extra based on charges? So if you have more charges, it last longer which makes you need to use less charges in the first place?
Either way its a worse version of Varian's parry in every way before talents.
100% Basic attack mitigation on a 8 second cd, 2 charges for 1.25 seconds
Vs 25% All damage mitgation on a 12 second cd, 3 charges for 3 seconds
Even if it wasnt worse, its very similiar mechanically and not that creative
E- Why does he have a basic attack speed buff? Nothing else in his kit supports this and it just seems random as heck.
R1- Is also worded poorly, saying its like corruption then saying its like Arcane flare again. The idea sounds pretty good but its hard to envision it with how its worded atm
R2- No. If you havent noticed, no hero in the game has an ability that summons an external non hero unit that attacks things unless that hero is specifically meant to be a summoner. Since hots went into open beta in 2014 the only exception to this rule is Jaina with her welly
The reason for that is because it just adds unessacary screen clutter and isnt even practical if the hero design isnt built around a summoning theme.
I get the idea, but try to build it around leading your actual team in some fashion, be it protecting them or something else, not summoning no name NPC units to lead.
W is just a clusterf-ed up idea
I mostly base his lore for skills, via the game wiki.
R1 has 3 dmg pools like Corruption, but he has a 4th added pool, which are the size of Arcane Flare AoE
