General Nazgrim

Horde Loyalist

This is just an idea I had, and I had noticed that no one has really made a concept for him, unless I'm wrong, so I decided to try it. A lot of the numbers will just be x's because this is my first time and I suck at balancing things. This is pretty much just for fun anyway.

General Nazgrim is a frontline warrior that does not use mana but instead consumes rage generated through attacking, using abilities and taking damage to empower his abilities. (He will have 100 rage and can consume a portion of his rage to empower one of his abilities on use. Think Renekton from LoL.) He can use his trait in the thick of battle to change between battle and defensive stance depending on the situation. The stances don’t affect how his abilities behave but instead give him passive combat boosts.

Combat Trait

1
Change Stance
Passive:
Nazgrim does not use mana and instead generates up to 100 rage and spends it to empower his abilities. Rage is generated by taking damage, dealing damage and through the use of his ability War Song. Up to 50 rage can be consumed to empower Nazgrim's next ability.

Active:
Allows Nazgrim to change between Battle Stance and Defensive Stance in combat.

Battle Stance - grants a x% boost to damage dealt and double rage gains from dealing damage.

Defensive Stance - grants a x% reduction in damage taken and doubles rage gains from taking damage.

No cost. 3(ish) second cooldown.

Primary Abilities

1
Bonecracker
Nazgrim hurls a heavy mace in a line in a target direction that stops upon reaching max distance or directly hitting an enemy hero or structure, dealing a small amount of damage in a small area and slowing all enemies hit by x% for x seconds. The mace will remain lodged in the ground or structure upon impact, allowing Nazgrim to retrieve it and lower Bonecracker’s cooldown by x seconds. This ability passes straight through minions and mercenaries, still applying the damage and slow on the way through.

50 rage: slow amount and duration is increased and a bleed dealing moderate ticking damage is applied to affected targets for the duration.

No cost. X second cooldown.
2
War Song
Nazgrim releases a hellish scream, dealing a moderate damage to nearby enemies and generating a small amount of rage per enemy hit. Also grants nearby allies a small boost to attack speed and movement speed for a short duration.

50 rage: deals additional damage to enemies based on a moderate % of the their max hp and heals Nazgrim for a moderate % of his own.

No cost. X second cooldown.
3
Sundering Blow
Nazgrim strikes a single target in melee range with a massive blow, dealing a large amount of damage and applying a stack of sunder armor. Sunder armor icreases damage taken by 5%ish from all sources per stack and lasts slightly longer than the cooldown of Sundering Blow itself (so that really only one person will be gaining stacks of sunder armor) stacking up to 3 times. Nazgrim generates 5 additional rage per stack of sunder armor when he casts sundering blow again on the same target.

50 rage: will instantly apply 3 stacks of sunder armor on the target and will deal additional damage.

No cost. X second cooldown.

Heroic Abilities

1
Ravager
Nazgrim throws an axe in a wide line in the target direction, dealing a large amount of damage per second to enemies caught in its path. Upon reaching max distance, the axe will change directions and will return to Nazgrim, dealing the same amount of damage to enemies on the way back. Nazgrim generates a moderate amount of rage per hero struck by this ability.

This ability cannot consume rage.

No cost. X second cooldown.
2
Heroic Shockwave
Nazgrim leaps into the air before landing at the target location, dealing a small amount of damage to every enemy within a large radius, stunning enemies in the centre of the impact zone, and slowing enemies toward the edge of the impact zone. After 3 seconds, the same impact zone will erupt, dealing moderate damage to every enemy still caught in the area.

This ability cannot consume rage.

No cost. X second cooldown.

Current Talent Ideas

Again, I’m pretty terrible at balancing things. There will definitely be some talents that need to be nerfed / buffed / swapped around or removed completely. Just ideas.

Level 1:

[Block]
(you know what block is)

[Regeneration master]
(yeah boring)

[Intimidating Shout]
War Song deals super high damage to minions and mercenaries and causes them to tremble in fear for 4ish seconds

[Unending Rage]
Rage pool increased (not sure by how much)

Level 4:

[Commanding Presence]
War Song’s radius is increased by x%. Friendly minions and mercenaries gain double the bonus movement speed and attack speed

[Enraged Regeneration]
Activate to consume x rage to regenerate x% hp over x seconds. 1 minute cooldown.

[Rubblemaker]
Bonecracker deals (super high)% extra damage to enemy structures.

[Victory Rush]
If you are present for a hero kill, your next Sundering Blow will also heal you for x% of your max hp.

Level 7:

[Strongarm]
Bonecracker’s travel speed and impact radius is increased by x%

[Regroup!]
War Song’s movement speed bonus is increased by x%

[Art of War]
While in Battle Stance you generate additional rage per second. While in Defensive Stance you regenerate a little hp per second.

[Collateral Damage]
Bonecracker’s damage is increased per enemy hero it hits upon impact, up to x%.

Level 10:

[Heroic Shockwave]
(already mentioned)

[Ravager]
(already mentioned)

Level 13:

[Burning fury]
when you consume rage to empower an ability, you deal x ticking damage to nearby enemies for x seconds.

[Spell Shield]
(yeah)

[Fuse Armor]
Targets affected by sunder armor are now slowed by x% per stack.

[Devastate]
Sundering Blow deals x increased damage per stack of sunder armor on the target.

Level 16:

[Demoralizing Shout]
War Song now also reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies by 40% for x seconds.

[Rallying Cry]
War song now also gives you and other nearby friendly heroes a small amount of hp regeneration throughout the duration.

[Last Stand]
Activate to increase your current and maximum hp by 30% for x seconds. X minute cooldown.

[Execute]
Sundering Blow will now attempt to finish off an enemy, dealing (super high) damage to targets below x% hp. Sundering Blow will now also instantly kill minions and some mercenaries.

Level 20:

[Shield Wall]
reduces damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds

[Second Wind]
while below 35% max hp, you regenerate x% of your max hp per second.

[Cataclysm]
Heroic Shockwave now stuns all enemies in the circle regardless of distance from the centre and will have 3 aftershocks over 3 seconds as opposed to one aftershock after 3 seconds. (ok then)

[Ignited Ravager]
Ravager now deals extra damage and in a wider area, also leaving behind a trail of fire that persists for a short duration, burning targets inside it for a moderate amount of damage per second

Ok so I know that a lot of it is terrible, and some of it unoriginal, but i think with some real balancing and possible reworks / rearranging of talents it could be pretty cool. Feel free to let me know if this is the dumbest thing you've ever seen or if it's alright looking. Cheers.

This is a very good warrior-ish guide.

There are small things that I'd personally correct :

- Add berserker stance - You can't wreck faces without bein' a ****in berserker!

- Bladestorm/Whirlwind - It's basically the most iconic warrior ability, cannot leave it out.

Otherwise, you did a really good job!
