Improvement suggestion for Genji.



Several casual players hate Genji as much as they hate playing against Zeratul. The hero has been nerfed a lot because of that. However, we are at a point where even in the hands of the most skilled players at the highest rankings, Genji is not having the impact he should have on 5v5 fights. And I didn't even consider his terrible macro, the lack of siege damage and wave cleanup restrains his usefulness only to rotations, ganks and fights.

I realize that in the most competitive championships (like the CCL), the hero is only chosen for specific dive compositions, but even so, it still doesn't fulfill this role as well as heroes like the tracer that manages to apply good pressure on the frontline and manages to enter to finish the backline with high explosive damage.

Despite the good changes we've had involving the Q build, I don't think it's useful in pvp in more decent matches where you can't use D on the backline and spam shurikens like in storm league. Remembering that in this build he loses a little burst damage when trying to finish someone with the swift strike for not having the strike at the heart, failing to perform the main function of the hero, which is to finish.

Ultimately, the intent of these suggestions is to make him have a little more utility by slightly increasing his AA damage, and also slightly improve his 5v5 in which he is usually extremely punished.


Basic stat changes:

Health decreased from 1675 to 1620.

Health regen decreased from 3.49 to 3.38.

Auto attack damage increased by 2 for each shuriken.

Way Of The Shimada (Moved from level 13) (New Functionality).


Increase Genji's Basic Attack Range by 0.5.
Every 2 basic attacks (6 shurikens) against heroes, Genji gains 5% movement speed for 3 seconds, stacking up to 10%. After auto-attacking 3 times (9 shurikens) against heroes, Genji also gains 0.5 more AA range for 5s, auto-attacks reset count (does not stack).



Swift as the Wind (New Functionality)

Increases the swift strike range by 1.

Fixed bug where swift strike does not damage the tip of the hitbox. You can check the bug here.




Agile Dismount (New Functionality)

Reduced cooldown reduction from 14 to 13 seconds.




Pathfinder: Removed

Level 4

Shuriken Mastery

Unchanged.



Strike at the Heart

Damage increased from 134 to 138. ("Poison" animation on the HP bar of the target hit by Strike at the Heart now appears correctly).





Dragonclaw

Blocked damage required decreased from 330 to 310

LEVEL 7

Perfect Defense (New Functionality)

Reflected damage reduces Deflect's cooldown by 2 seconds, up to a maximum of 8 seconds.
When the deflection ends, Genji gains a shield equal to 100% damage dealt by heroes, for 3 seconds.



Untouchable Defense (New Talent)

Reduces deflect duration to 0.75s and gains unstoppable for 0.5s.

Cyber Shield

Unchanged.


LEVEL 13

Shingan

Unchanged.




Flow Like Water

Unchanged.



Fatal Strike (New Talent).


Option 1: Swift Strike finishes off targets with 5% health or less.

Option 2: kill a target with swift strike, causes the next one to deal 100% more damage (doesn't stack).

Option 3: Swift Strike deals 20% more damage to targets with 30% health or less, this damage increases based on lost health up to a maximum of 60% more damage.

LEVEL 16

Unchanged.

Steady Blade

Fix bug that when dying disappears the visual effects of steadyblade accumulation.

Can you please make the icons smaller? You took them from HotS wiki, right? Then you can do it by instantly copying them to Imgur without opening the page with their actual size.

What can i say - i'm glad most of our changes are similar (and most of them are literally the same)

IMO, Augmented Guard will be overpowered, and Dodge will still never see play, because it does nothing compared to other talents.

How long does the Movement Speed buff from Way of the Shimada lasts?

Not sure why would you pick Cyber Healing when it only heals you for 10%. It's less than 400 healing at lvl 20.

Cyber Sight is kinda too weak compared to other lvl 20 talents.

Hi Smile, I liked some ideas of your rework and adapted them. Thanks for the tip about the size of the icons, I really didn't know how to make it smaller, I took it from IcyVeins and put it on imgur. I will try to do as I say. As for the talents, yes, it could buff some in certain talents and maybe nerf others.
