Notes on Hellhide

While within Hellhide, the front 50% of Gugyn in invulnerable while the back 50% is dealt damage in a normal way. Allow me to demonstrate with MS Paint:

Attacking Gugyn from the front is a poor idea. As long as Hellhide holds he can sit there as long as he wishes. The best way to deal with him is to flank him, running right past him and trying to gain access to his unprotected side. Gugyn can slowly rotate in place however, so this is a temporary solution. Gugyn rotates slowly enough that a skilled player might be able to stutter step, continuously maintaining access to his vulnerable side with basic attacks, but fast enough that this would be difficult for most players.

Targeted abilities, like say Kael'thas' Living Bomb cannot be applied to Gugyn while you are in front of him during Hellhide. These effects can be applied from behind. Damage over time abilities like Living Bomb would still continue to damage Gugyn during Hellhide if they were applied before he activated the ability.

The best tactics to use against Gugyn are to simply attack him with a teammate or to use AOE abilities that can be ground targeted, like Flamestrike or Blizzard, to damage his exposed side:

Talents

Level 1:
Regeneration Master: Collecting regeneration globes permanently increases health regeneration by 1.5 per second.
Hell Forged: Gain a stack of Block for every 3 basic attacks you absorb with Hellhide. Maximum 3 stacks.
Seismic Activity: If Tremor is used while under the effect of Hellhide its mana cost is reduced by 50% and its cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds.
Perfection: Hitting an enemy hero with Tremor reduces the cooldown of Hellhide by 1 second.

Level 4:
Focused Attack: Every 10 seconds your next basic attack against a hero deals 75% additional damage. Basic attacks reduce this cooldown by 1 second.
Amplified Healing: Increases regeneration effects and all healing received by 30%.
Bat Out Of Hell: Hellhide increases the range of Tremor by 10% per second, to maximum of 30%.
Leecher: Basic attacks during Aftershock heal Gugyn for 60% of the damage they deal.


Level 7:

Fester: Health regeneration is increased by 200% while under the effect of Hellhide.
Bastion: Your cooldowns regenerate 100% faster for the first 3 seconds of Hellhide.
Damping: Increases the damage redirected to Gugyn from Sinkhole to 30%. If the amount of absorbed damage exceeds 50% of Gugyn's total health then Sinkhole's cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds.
Underfoot: Basic attacks during Aftershock deal 100% bonus damage to minions and mercenaries.

Level 10:
Hellfire Fissure: Split the earth beneath you, causing a fissure to open in a long line that deals high damage every second to enemies that remain on top of it. Lasts 5 seconds. 2 charges on a 30 second cooldown. Can be cast while under the effects of Hellhide.
Shockwave: Empower your basic attacks for 10 seconds, causing them to mark enemy heroes with a stack of 'Shockwave'. If an enemy hero reaches 3 stacks of Shockwave they are stunned for 1.5 seconds and explode in a wave of energy that stuns their nearby allies for 0.5 seconds. Stacks of Shockwave on an enemy hero increase the stun duration they receive by 0.5 seconds. All stacks are removed from enemies once they have been stunned. 70 second cooldown.

Level 13:
Burning Rage: Deal damage per second to nearby enemies.
Graboid: If Tremor doesn't hit an enemy hero your next basic attack will cause you to charge a short distance and root the target for 0.5 seconds.
Siege Breaker: Aftershock charges twice as fast from damage blocked by Hellhide and can now stack up to 30%.
Swallowed Up: Increase Sinkhole's damage and area of effect by 25%. In addition its duration is increased by 1 second.

Level 16:
Collapse: Enemies hit by Sinkhole take 25% increased damage for 2 seconds.
Cave In: Enemies hit by Sinkhole are pulled back slightly and slowed by 30% for 3 seconds.
Shock And Mawl: Basic attacks during Aftershock apply a slow equal to Gugyn's Aftershock attack and movement speed bonus for 0.5 seconds.
Brickhouse: After Hellhide ends, gain a shield equal to the amount of damage it absorbed for 2 seconds.


Level 20:
Hellscape: Reduce the cooldown of Hellfire Fissure by 5 seconds. In addition the area between any two Hellfire Fissures will also crack, dealing 25% of Hellfire Fissures damage while both Fissures remain.
Fault Lines: Your basic attacks during Shockwave chain to 1 additional nearby enemy hero.
Hardened Shield: Activate to reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds.
Rewind: Activate to reset the cooldowns of your basic abilities.
