ALL NUMBER NEED ADJUSTING. I don't claim to a balance pro and I think especially with this type of hero, the numbers would be a ****shoot to try and guesstimate. You can assume Gul'dan in this state is meant to be one of the squishiest heroes in the game without any defensive talents taken, but his presence should frighten the enemy team due to the damage he can output.
FEEDBACK GREATLY APPRECIATED! This is actually my first concept and first passthrough at this hero as well, so all help is welcome.
@mermeoth yeah I definitely agree Gul'dan needs to be very fel focused. I actually changed the graphic for both hand of Gul'dan and chaos wave to be fel green colored instead of the default purple. You have given me some great feedback and it is greatly appreciated!
Well in W2 he had standard Death knight abilities, which are more necromancer like.
In wow rpg book it is stated he summons many demons to distract enemy before he will unleash spells and enter melee combat.
In WoD he didn't show much yet, he was just throwing or summoning some green stuff.
Imho I imagine Gul'dan as someone who summons demons for short duration to aid the fight, throwing some green soul fire and cataclysm like spells. Hand of gul'dan fits him well ofc (it has his own name in it :)
@nairb Thanks! I think it would be fun to play, and that's why I made it :)
@Mermeoth Thanks for the input. I do have to disagree though, when I think of demonology warlocks I think of two things - minions and metamorphosis. Illidan already has metamorphosis so that is out entirely. With Gul'dan (imo) needing a spot in the Nexus, I feel like this is a decent representation.
I have thought of the idea of Shadowbolt being a basic ability, and I agree that it probably fits in better than say Unstable Affliction. That being said though, I liked the idea of Drain Soul increasing dot damage and didn't want to make him Jaina 2.0, which it may feel like with a skillshot direct damage spell like shadowbolt + an AoE like HoG.
