Preamble:
Basically what I wanted to create here was a hero that reminded me really well of the class I played in WoW during TBC and Wrath. This isn't finished and a few details need to be ironed out (such as what the talent choices do prior to getting your shapeshift ability, in addition to number tuning.) Possibly wanting to add an action for the trait that varies depending on the ult chosen (maybe even make cat form stealth an active ability with this as a button rather than auto.)
Multiple Combat Roles:
First and foremost, the hero would be able to fulfill multiple roles depending on talent choices. Since Malfurion already does balance/resto, I figured this game needs a feral druid, and in the spirit of wrath and later, the druid can be good at either dps or tanking, but not both.
So, in homage to WoW druids, this hero can be an assassin or a tank, depending on talent choices, mostly surrounding the level 10 ultimate talent, which provides a choice of either cat form or bear form. The one you pick drastically changes the play style from that point forward (much like a WoW druid after you've made your talent decision,) but the hero is still decent prior to level 10 as well. The hero is mainly meant to be synergistic with team fights and not necessarily for 1v1 combat (though can perform adequately at it) and unlike a typical support/assassin/tank, helps contribute to the overall team damage and CC, OR, helps mitigate a lot of team damage and positioning.
Abilities:
Without shapeshifting, the hero focuses more on harassing and being a minor supportive role with three abilities:
Wrath: Used to poke enemies, does more damage if the enemy is further away (maybe, maybe not, don't want this to feel too much like LoL's Nidalee spear; it certainly won't be as deadly.)
Rejuvenate: Very small initial heal followed by a light HoT. Supposed to be weaker than Malfurion's Regrowth, and is only intended for mild sustain and to save an ally from dying. (A small shield would be more ideal, but doesn't fit the lore.)
Thorns: Cast it on a friendly player or minion, attacking players and minions take damage when attacking this player.
Ultimates: (and how they really make the hero shine.)
The ult really makes this hero stand out: You choose between getting cat form, or bear form, each with their own abilities and role. When you shift into your form, your abilities are replaced by abilities for that form, and shifting out returns your base abilities. Shapeshifting lasts until canceled, and triggers a 5 second cooldown when canceled.
Feral Combat Path:
For the cat form path, you gain perma stealth similar to nova/zeratul, and the ability to quickly move in and out of combat, and 10% increased movement speed.
Pounce: Leap to one target, applies direct damage to the target, and a small bleed DoT to that target and closely surrounding targets (think the same radius of Malfurion's Moonfire.) Can be talented to add a stun on the primary target if used from stealth. Can also be talented to leap to friendly players as an escape. Can also be talented to make the bleeding targets more vulnerable to damage.
Swipe: AOE cone damage for targets really close to the front of you in addition to a small bleed DoT. Can be talented to blind all enemies hit for 2 seconds.
Rake: Applies bigger direct damage than the other abilities, plus an even bigger bleed effect.
An example playstyle might be to talent pounce to add vulnerable, then swipe to increase damage taken while blinding the enemies (probably putting the stun talent on the same tier to make them exclusive,) then rake to finish off the combo. Do these exchanges repeatedly to fight your enemies.
Guardian Path:
Bear form would be intended to be a competent tank while being able to offset your enemy's positioning. You gain 25% more health in this form.
Feral Charge: Knock back an enemy and deal damage, causing a daze effect reducing movement speed by 30% for 2 seconds afterward.
Demoralizing Roar: AoE to cause nearby affected enemies to inflict 20% reduced damage to you and 10% reduced damage to your allies for 4 seconds (think the opposite of Raynor's inspire.)
Thrash: Leap to a target area and thrash all enemies within it, dealing minor direct damage and a minor bleed DoT.
