Imperius

Archangel of Valor

A Melee Assassin built to defend against split-pushing Heroes.

Imperius is an angel of the High Heavens and the de facto ruler of the Angiris Council. He has led the Heavenly Host to numerous victories over the Demonic Legion, but his pride and rashness has often caused recklessness that would ultimately cost him not only battles, but also his brother, Tyrael.

Tips:
-Conviction is only useful when you can secure takedowns. Surprise lone Heroes with Angel's Descent to earn stacks of Valor, improving your waveclear and, eventually, damage through Armor.
-Solarion's Wrath works well to get in or out of battle. Engage with it to block enemies escaping or disengage safely thanks to the slowing flames.
-Consecrate has strong AoE damage, especially against tankier Heroes. Soften up Warriors after closing the distance with other Abilities.
-Angel's Descent allows Imperius a fast and powerful way to get around the battlefield. Join fights out of nowhere with a burst of damage and CC to swing them in your favor.
-Reveal Evil is another great tool against large Health pools. Don't be fooled though: its infinite range makes it impossible for slippery Heroes to escape from as well.
-Gleam of Valor can lock down an area of the battlefield effectively. Use it around an objective to zone out or weaken enemies.

Combat Trait

Conviction
Quest: Participating in takedowns grants Imperius a stack of Valor, dealing 3 (+4%) damage to nearby enemies per second per stack, up to 10 stacks. These stacks are lost upon death.

Reward: After reaching 10 stacks of Valor, Imperius' Basic Attacks and Abilities ignore up to 20 Armor.

Solarion's Wrath
Mana Cost: 60
Cooldown: 10 seconds


Charge forward, dealing 160 (+4%) damage to enemies hit and leaving a trail of fire behind for 4 seconds. The fire deals 20 (+4%) damage every .33 seconds and slows enemies by 25%.

Consecrate
Mana Cost: 65
Cooldown: 12 seconds


Impale Solarion into the ground, causing the area around to explode in holy light .5 seconds later, dealing the highest damage of either 225 (+4%) damage or 10% of their maximum Health to each enemy Hero hit.

Angel's Descent
Mana Cost: 80
Cooldown: 30 seconds


Fly up high and crash down elsewhere after 2 seconds, dealing 300 (+4%) damage to enemies and stunning them for 1 second. Long range.

Heroic Abilities

Channel to purge an enemy Hero in Solarion's flames, dealing damage equal to 60% of their maximum Health over 6 seconds. Once the channel starts, it has infinite range.

Gleam of Valor
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 120 seconds


A slow moving bubble of light expands outwards from Imperius over an area over 5 seconds, dealing 275 (+4%) damage to enemy Heroes hit. Heroes are also Blinded and slowed by 40% within the bubble.

Level 1 Talents

Vanquishing Flames (Q): Solarion's Wrath does 50% bonus damage against Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters and its flames last 2 seconds longer.

Purge in Light (W): Quest: Hit 25 Heroes with Consecrate.
Reward: Increase Consecrate's radius by 30% and reduce its cooldown by 1 second for each Hero hit.

Cast Down (E): Quest: Killing a Hero hit by Angel's Descent within 5 seconds increases its damage by 10 and Imperius' Basic Attack damage by 3.

Level 4 Talents

Hope (D): Basic Attacks heal Imperius for 2.5% of the damage he deals per stack of Valor. Increase this by an additional 10% at maximum stacks.

Flaws Revealed (Q): Enemy Heroes hit by Solarion's Wrath's charge have their Ability damage reduced by 40% for 3 seconds.

Hallowed Ground (W): Consecrate blinds Heroes hit for 1.5 seconds.

Level 7 Talents

Angel of War (Q): Quest: Hit 30 enemy Heroes with the charge of Solarion's Wrath.
Reward: Hitting Heroes with Solarion's Wrath now grants a stack of Valor.

Tread Lightly (W): Consecrate slows Heroes hit by 40% for 1.75 seconds.

Immortal Combo (Q + E): Hitting a Hero with Angel's Descent increases the charge damage of the next Solarion's Wrath within 5 seconds by 50%.

Level 13 Talents

Power of Anu (Q): Increase Solarion's Wrath's range by 50% and its charge deals 10% more damage per stack of Valor.

Mercy is Weakness (W): Consecrate now always deals damage equal to 15% of the Hero's maximum Health.

Wisdom (D): Imperius' Basic Attacks reduce the cooldowns of his Basic Abilities by .1 seconds per stack of Valor.

Level 16 Talents

The Heavens Strike (E): Enemies in the center of Angel's Descent's radius take 50% more damage and are stunned for 50% longer.

Justice (D): While at maximum stacks of Valor, Imperius gains 20% Movement Speed.

Executioner (Passive): Attacking a Hero that is slowed, rooted, or stunned increases your Basic Attack damage by 30% for 3 seconds.

Level 20 Talents

Found Wanting (R): Killing an enemy with Reveal Evil reduces its cooldown to 10 seconds.

Beacon of Valor (R): Increase Gleam of Valor's radius by 40% and duration by 2 seconds. Reduce its cooldown by 15 seconds for each Hero hit.

No Haven for Evil (E): Angel's Descent has unlimited range and its cast time is reduced by 1 second.

Fate (D): At maximum stacks of Valor, nearby allied Heroes gain Conviction's non-damage bonuses.
