Isendra

Zann Esu Sorceress

Isendra is the Diablo 2 Sorceress, and the one who trained Li-Ming. Her role in the Nexus is that of "generic mage", much like ETC and Muradin are "generic tanks". That in mind, her range, CC duration, and burst damage are all generally lower than other mages. Jaina provides stronger, more reliable Slows and zone control. Kael'thas provides better hard CC, zone control, and burst damage. Chromie and Li-Ming out-range and out-burst Isendra every time.

On the other hand, Isendra is much more durable, less mana hungry, and more flexible through talent choices to fill the niche the team ends up needing. As a "generic mage", she doesn't specialize into any element, and always has at least one fire, one ice, and one lightning ability.

The one role in draft she does excel is her giant killer, with percent damage available on both a Basic Ability at 13 and a Heroic upgrade at 20.

The hero fantasy is built to make you feel like you're playing Diablo - instead of enhancing your Basic Abilities with talents, you replace your spells with better ones as you level up. New ability icons, animations, sound effects, everything.

Author's note: that's 66 (+4% per level) plus 2% of the original target's health on the bounces. This spell is absolutely devastating to the allies of a Cho'gall, Diablo, Stitches, or any other high health target.

Tier 6 (Level 16)


Fire Mastery
Your first Basic Ability (Q) and Hydra deal 25% more damage, and Enchant passively increases your Basic Attack damage by 25%.

Cold Mastery
Your second Basic Ability (W) deals 25% more damage and Shiver Armor provides 5 additional armor.

Lightning Mastery
Your third Basic Ability (E) is 25% stronger, and you gain 25 spell armor while Energy Shield is active.

Tier 7 (Level 20)


Ring of Fire (R)
Fire Wall is replaced by Ring of Fire.
Heroic Ability
Cooldown: 120 seconds

Mana: 120
Creates a ring of fire around you that deals 225 (+4% per level) damage per second to anyone caught inside. Lasts 12 seconds.

Persistent Orb (R)
When Frozen Orb expires, it circles Isendra until she uses another ability, continuing to cast Ice Bolt.

Static Storm (R)
Thunder Storm strikes deal bonus damage equal to 2% of the target's maximum health.

Teleport (Active)
Cooldown: 45 seconds
Mana: 60
Blink a short distance.

the only complaint I have about this concept is that you are completely locked into one specific talent per tier post-4. Perhaps it would be better if instead of the talents being specific spells with talent prerequisites, they were just Fire/Ice/Lightning Mastery talents and you had to have a certain number of points in X mastery in order to use the higher up skills for a given element. This would let you mix and match the spells you take in any given match and would allow for there to be a great deal of build diversity, imo.
