Itherael

The Archangel of Fate

Wielder of Talus'ar, Archangel of Fate, Itherael is a powerful ranged caster that acts as an advisor in the Angiris Council. Itherael is able to manipulate time and space to strike down his enemies and enact what is inevitable.

Itherael is a powerful multiclass Mage/Support that I can best describe as a ground AoE Li Ming with a bit of Malfurion thrown in. Itherael thrives in turning sour team fights sweet, and whilst picking him up and playing him isn't hard, he is primarily driven by complexly weaving his talents together and turning the tables of war in his side's favor.

Strengths: Area Denial, Team Fights

Weaknesses: CC, High Single-Target Damage

Excels Against: Bruisers, like Artanis or Butcher; DOT Assassins, Like Lunara or Nazeebo

Struggles Against: Single-Target High Damage Assassins, like Valla or Falstad

This does not affect heroic abilities.

Primary Abilities

1
Fate's Wrath
Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Mana Cost: 30

Itherael summons and casts down 3 swords of light in a line that deal moderate damage.

Think Gul'dan's W, but about 25% smaller, without the DoT effect, but faster and with swords.
2
Temporal Rift
Cooldown: 15 Seconds
Mana Cost: 60 Mana

Itherael tears a rift in time that opens and detonates after 2 seconds, dealing heavy damage and slowing enemies by 20%. The detonated rift leaves a slowing area on the ground for 1.5 seconds, slowing enemies by 15%.

If an ally hero walks over the rift as it detonates, their ability power is increased by 30% for 2 seconds.
3
E - Shard of the Crystal Arch
Cooldown: 20 Seconds
Mana Cost: 80 Mana

Itherael channels for 1 second and summons a Shard of the Crystal Arch. Allies can collect these shards to regain health and mana. Enemies can collect these shards to destroy them.

Itherael may have 3 shards on the map at once. Shards return health and mana based upon Itherael's current ability power.

Heroic Abilities

1
Twist of Fate
Cooldown: 120 Seconds
Mana Cost: 130 Mana

Itherael binds one of his nearby allied heroes to one of his nearby enemy heroes for 5 seconds. If the bound ally receives fatal damage during the duration of Twist of Fate, the bound enemy will receive all of the damage the bound ally received during the duration of Twist of Fate and the ally will be healed to 10% health.

Itherael can bind himself to an enemy. If the allied hero is not killed during the duration of Twist of Fate, its cooldown is halved.
2
Prophetic Omen
Cooldown: 60 Seconds
Mana Cost: 100 Mana

Itherael channels for 4 seconds and marks an enemy or allied hero for 15 seconds. If an enemy hero is marked, they will take 20% increased damage and have 20% reduced movement speed. If an ally hero is marked, they will take 20% reduced damage and have 20% increased movement speed.

If the marked enemy hero is killed, Itherael gains 5% permanent ability power. If the marked ally hero is killed, Itherael's basic ability cooldowns are permanently reduced by 0.5 seconds.

Special Mount

1
Z - Blink
Cooldown: 20 Seconds
Mana Cost: None

Itherael cannot use normal mounts. Instead, he selects a location and teleports there. Itherael can teleport over terrain. Itherael can teleport to areas in the fog of war.

Blink does not benefit from Itherael's Passive.

Post Script

Of all my current concepts, Itherael has to be my favorite. For those thinking that with the correct set of talents, Itherael could be one of, if not the, hardest hitting heroes in HOTS, that's the point. I designed Ithereal to be able to be an Off-Support, but primarily a true Burst Mage.

But what about Li Ming?, you ask. She would be all but useless if Itherael was implemented. Personally, I don't agree. Ithereal has higher burst, possibly, but his is harder to hit, especially on squishies, as most of his burst comes from his W, which has a long enough delay that most heroes that it would be highly detrimental to, aka mobile squishies, can get away safely. Ithereal isn't meant to fight against high single-target damage assassins, anyway. He's designed to negate Bruisers, like Artanis or Butcher, and DOT Assassins, like Lunara and Nazeebo. Besides, Ithereal is about, if not just, as squishy and vulnerable to CC as LiMing is as his only escape has a 20 second cooldown. Anyway, I digress. Please, type in the comments how you feel about him and any suggestions for stat or name changes!
