Izual was once an angel in service to the High Heavens, and served as the most trusted lieutenant of Tyrael during the Great Conflict. The beginning of Izual's fall from grace came when he led an assault on the Hellforge. Izual was overcome by the demonic legions and was captured by the Prime Evils. He became a corrupt shadow of his former self - - a fallen angel trusted neither by Heaven nor Hell. To add insult to injury, Izual's spirit was bound within the form of a terrible creature which was summoned from the Black Abyss.
Izual is an aggressive melee warrior who deals low damage but is hard to kill. With his various crowd control abilities and his trait, Hell Forged, Izual wades deep into the enemy team without fear.
Combat Trait
1
Hell Forged
Izual cannot lose more than 20% of his maximum health in a second.
Primary Abilities
1
Shatter
Charge forward a short distance. If you hit a target they are knocked back and stunned for 0.25 seconds. 2 charges, no cooldown. 8 second recharge time.
If the target has a shield 50% of that shield is destroyed.
2
Cold Snap
Shield yourself for 20% of your health for 3 seconds. When the shield ends it explodes in a nova of ice, damaging and slowing nearby enemies for 1 second. 15 second cooldown.
The damage and slow applied by Cold Snap is increased by an amount equal to the % of shield remaining when it expired (i.e. if 100% of the shield remained when it expired nearby enemies are slowed by 100% for 1 second).
3
Chains of Ice
(Skillshot) Launch a short Chain of Ice at an enemy hero. If another enemy hero is within range of the initial target the two will become chained together for 2 seconds, preventing them from moving in different directions. 14 second cooldown.
Heroic Abilities
1
Azurewrath
Call down the runeblade Azurewrath from the sky, which crashes down like a lightning bolt, stunning enemies in a wide area for 1 second. Additionally enemies in this area are gradually pulled towards Azurewrath for 3 seconds. The pull is stronger the closer an enemy is to Azurewrath. 90 second cooldown.
2
From Hell
Izual takes flight, charging towards a target location and damaging enemies near his arrival point. 70 second cooldown.
Izual's attack speed and movement speed is increased by 10% for 10 seconds for each enemy hero hit by the initial impact.
Talents
Level 1: Block: Periodically reduces the damage received from hero basic attacks by 50%. Stores up to 2 charges. Regeneration Master: Collecting Regeneration Globes permanently increases health regeneration by 1.5 per second. Hoarfrost:Increase the duration of the slow provided by Cold Snap by 0.25 seconds for each enemy hero that is hit by its nova. Take Up Slack: Increases the range of Chains Of Ice by 25% and reduces the distance between chained targets by 25%.
Level 4: Amplified Healing: Increases regeneration effects and all healing received by 30%. Weak Link: The initial target of Chains of Ice is slowed by 20% for the duration of the effect. Cold Front: Increases the shield from Cold Snap to 25% of your health and reduce its duration to 2 seconds. Reforge:After stopping damage with Hell Forged, regenerate 5% of your health over 10 seconds.
Level 7: Frozen Food: Health globes are twice as effective if picked up while you are shielded from Cold Snap. Ice Age:Upon taking fatal damage, Izual continues to live for 1 second for each time his health was prevented from dropping due to Hell Forged in the past 10 seconds. Black Ice: Casting 2 Shatters in a row allows you to cast 1 additional Shatter for free. This free shatter travels twice as far. Cold Of The Grave: If an enemy is killed while under the effect of Chains of Ice its cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds.
Level 10: See above section.
Level 13: Mammoth: Reduces the maximum amount of damage Izual is allowed to receive in 1 second from Hell Forged to 15%. Hell Freezes Over: Nearby allies passively receive a weaker version of Hell Forged that doesn't allow them to lose more than 75% of their max health in 1 second. Collision: The knockback from Shatter is removed and the duration of the stun is improved to 0.75 seconds. Chilled To The Bone: The attack speed of enemies under the effect of Chains of Ice is reduced by 75%.
Level 16: Encased In Ice: After reducing an enemy's shield with Shatter, gain a shield equal to the amount destroyed for 4 seconds. Devastate: Using Shatter on a target under the effect of Chains of Ice increases the duration of the chain by 1 second. Shellshock: Leave behind a frozen copy of yourself that lasts for 1 second when you charge with Shatter. Using Shatter against this copy will cause it to explode, rooting nearby enemies for 2 seconds. Winter Is Coming: Reduce the cooldown of your basic abilities by 1 second whenever you're damaged for the maximum amount allowed by Hell Forged.
Level 20: Take Up Arms: Izual is able to wield Azurewrath for 10 seconds, allowing him to move its area of of influence with him, and the duration of the pulling effect is increased to 6 seconds. While wielding Azurewrath Izual deals 30% increased damage. Fallen Angel: From Hell also reduces all damage taken by 5% for each enemy hero it hits, and its cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds for each enemy hero hit as well. Inferno Forged: Hell Forged can be activated to prevent all damage for 4 seconds. After this expires this damage is dealt to Izual over 2 seconds. 60 second cooldown. Nexus Blades:Basic attacks deal 20% more damage and slow the target for 1 second.
Numbers could be played around with for sure. With his trait and his shield I don't imagine his health pool being especially impressive when compared to other warriors. the intention of the trait is to allow him the confidence to engage aggressively; he can't be bursted down.
25/20% max damage on hellforged seems a little much for a warrior, to me. At least if he doesn't have extremely low health. This trait would be really good on Murky, but that's because he has so little health. If Izual has high amounts of health, reducing the percentage may be necessary to make the trait any good.
