Kael

Prince of the Blood Elves

This rework is meant to change up Kael’thas due to him never having a change sense 2018 (yes I was shocked also). I hope you all enjoy this look at what I’d do to try and change him up a bit.

Note worthy changes: Living Bomb has been replaced with Pyrobla- I MEAN Fireball, however Living Bombs are now apart of Gravity Laps as a new way to apply them rather then just "Click and boom." Thinking of Pyroblast, that has been replaced with Frostfire Bolt, acting as a new ultimate similar in style to Black Hole from Tassadar but instead of pulling it slows. Verdant Spheres also enhances Heroic Abilities but sets the cooldown to a higher amount then normal in return, so use that wisely. Oh and Convection is baseline and gives cooldown reduction after completing the quest.

Combat Trait

1
Verdant Spheres
6 Second Cooldown: Activate to make your next ability more powerful. If you activate this on a Heroic Ability set the cooldown of Verdant Spheres to 20 seconds.

Primary Abilities

1
Flamestrike
65 Mana 7 second cooldown: After a short delay (same speed as live), deal 250 damage in an area. Verdant Spheres increases the area by 50% and causes 2 stacks to be gained for the quest.

Quest: Hitting heroes with Flamestrike increases the damage by 5, stacking 20 times and half of your current stacks are lost upon death. Upon reaching 20 stacks, increase the damage by 100 and each time you hit an enemy hero it reduces the cooldown of Flamestrike by .3 seconds. Verdant Spheres increases the cooldown reduction to .5 seconds.
2
Fireball
40 mana, 8 second cooldown: Channel for .4 seconds, afterwards send a small fireball towards a single target (faster the Pyroblast but slightly slower then KTZs ult and has half the range of Pyroblast). It deals 90 damage upon impact and deals 18 damage every second for 3 seconds afterwards. Verdant Spheres makes this ability instant cast.
3
Gravity Laps
90 mana, 18 second cooldown: Stun the first enemy hit for .75 second and apply Living Bomb to them. Living Bombs after 3 second explode for 160 damage and spread to nearby enemies once. Verdant Spheres causes this ability to stun the first 3 enemies hit and applies Living Bomb to all 3 for 20% then 40% of the normal damage. (What I mean is the first one has normal damage, second one has 80% normal damage and third has 60%)

Heroic Abilities

1
Phoenix
70 mana 60 Second Cooldown: Summon a Phoenix at an area after 1 second. It deals 125 damage upon arriving and attacks nearby enemies for 80 damage, splashing to nearby enemies for 42 damage. The Phoenix remains for 10 seconds
2
Frostfire Bolt
90 Mana, 80 second cooldown: Channel for .8 seconds and launch a bolt of Frostfire ahead of you. If it by the Bolt, enemies take 205 damage and are slowed for 50% for 2.5 seconds. If upgraded by Verdant Spheres, increase the slow to 80% for 4 seconds.

Talent Tier 1

Wrath of the Sunwell: After reaching 10 stacks of the Flamestrike quest, it leaves a patch of fire on the ground for 4 seconds, dealing 20 damage every .5 seconds to enemies within. After reaching 20 stacks increase the damage to 35.
Fel Infusion: Increase Kael'thas spell power by 5%. Kael'thas heals for 101 health when using Verdant Spheres.
Mana Addict: Gathering health globes increases your max mana by 8 and increase mana generated by health globes and healing fountain by 50%. After collecting 20 health globes, you can activate Arcane Barrier to gain a shield equal to 100% of your mana. 45 second cooldown. (the original image was being a pain so I went with Arcane Torrents image)

Changes: Convection being baseline I had to come up with something new for the first talent so I decided to make a talent built around your quest stacks. Fel Infusion I gave a buff due to underutilization across all leagues, wanted it to still serve the normal purpose though. Mana Addict is very popular atm so I decided slightly rework it to give you more mana in addition to increasing it at the cost of the normal amount gained being decreased.

Talent Tier 2

Nether Wind: Increase the range of Gravity Laps by 30%. When it hits a Hero refund 35 mana per enemy Hero hit.
Flame of A'lar: Increase the duration of Fireball's damage over time by 3 seconds. Upgrading the ability with Verdant Spheres also refunds 20 mana.
Mana Tap: Verdant Spheres restores 4% of Kael'thas maximum mana.

Changes: I wanted this to retain being a mana tier so some stuff should still be familiar to everyone. I altered how Nether Wind gives you back mana so that way you can possibly get more mana out of it. I got rid of Energy Roil due as this is meant to be a mana tier, not a cooldown reduction tier though I did have it affect the enemy cooldown so that way it can have it's own niche. Mana tap I left the same as I wanted an easy way to restore mana but I didn't want it to be unfamiliar to everyone.

Talent Tier 3

Burned Flesh: Hitting 2 or more heroes with Flamestrike causes them to take by 4% of there health as damage for every hero hit, up to 12%
Blast Furnace: Living Bomb no longer deals less damage after hitting the second and third heroes, but increase the cooldown of Gravity Laps by 4 seconds.
Kel'jaeden's Blessing: Reduce Verdant Sphere's cooldown by 2 seconds. Using it with an Ultimate the cooldown is set to 14 seconds.

Changes: Burned Flesh now stacks with enemies hit, rewarding big Flamestrikes. Blast Furnace removes the damage reduction but at a cost, sounds like a good choice to me. Kel'jaeden's Blessing replaces Sunfire Enhancement because I'm fairly certain most people forgot SE existed.

Heroics

Heroics Listed Above

Talent Tier 5

Ignite: Verdant Spheres makes it so Flamestrike applies a Living Bomb for 60% Living Bombs normal damage to only the highest health enemy hero hit.
Fission Bomb: Living Bombs explosion radius is increased by 25%
Firestarter: Fireball initial deals 50% more damage to enemies over 50% health but the damage over time is reduced by 40%.

Changes: Ignite at level 13?! What madness is this! Well it requires Verdant Spheres so that should be fine. Fission Bomb is still mostly the same. Lastly a talent for Fireball to help bring enemies lower with burst damage rather then dot damage

Talent Tier 6

Light of the Sun: Fireball hitting an enemy Hero causes a second one to be launched at a nearby enemy for 50% normal damage.
Fury of the Sunwell: Hitting an enemy Hero causes Flamestrike to explode again where it was. This can only occur once. This second Flamestrike is unaffected by other talents.
Soul Fire: Activating Verdant Spheres increases your spell power by .5% for every 1% of missing health you have for your next damaging basic ability. (Yes for Gravity Laps it affects Living Bomb)

Changes: This is probably my most changed tier I think. Light of the Sun gives you a bit more AOE and can let you get a cheeky kill witch everyone loves, Fury of the Sunwell is still here but works only when it hits an enemy Hero and is nerfed, while Twin Spheres is replaced by Soul Fire witch is just a damage increase.

Talent Tier 7

Ashes of Al'ar: Should you die while Phoenix is active, the Phoenix will fly to where you died and defend the area for 5 seconds, where afterwards you resurrect where you were at 75% of your max health with full mana. After being ressurected, set Phoenixs cooldown to 90 seconds.
Chilling Flame: Frostfire Bolt reduces armor by 20. Verdant Spheres increases this to 30.
World Turned Upside-down!: Each enemy hit by Gravity Laps increases the duration of the stun for the next enemy hit by .25 seconds. Verdant Spheres now makes it hit up to 5 enemies.
Flamethrower: Increase the cast range of Flamestrike and Fireball by 40%. Hitting an enemy Hero with Fireball reduces Flamestrikes cooldown by 1 second and hitting enemy Hero with Flamestrike reduces Fireballs cooldown by 2 seconds.

Changes: Rebirth is gone as it is currently his least picked talent as of this typing. Chilling Flame replaces Presence of Mind as Pyroblast is now Fireball. World Turned Upside-down replaces Master of Flames, and Flamethrower works on Flamestrike and Fireball.
