Kael'thas Rework (2024)

My Suggestions

While Kael'thas has a powerful kit, it lacks depth, and his talents are in a terrible spot.
The idea behind this rework is to make the Sun King more interesting and less reliant on certain talents.

Combat Trait

Verdant Spheres (Reworked D)

Kael'thas controls 3 Verdant Spheres. Each one can be activated to empower his next Basic Ability and restore 10% of his missing Mana. Can be used up to 3 times. His next Basic Ability deactivates all active spheres and puts them on a 3 second cooldown for each. Inactive spheres can be used during the cooldown, and deactivating them will extend the cooldown by 3 seconds for each.

Damage decreased from 345 to 320
Each Verdant Sphere increases the radius by 25%

Mana increased from 50 to 60
Cooldown increased from 10 to 12 seconds
Periodic damage increased from 126 to 135
Each Verdant Sphere reduces the cooldown by 4 seconds and the Mana cost by 20

Gravity Lapse (E)

Mana increased from 90 to 120
Range increased from 9.5 to 10
Now deals 66 damage to enemies after the Stun expires
Each Verdant Sphere increases the amount of targets by 1 and the Stun duration by 0.25 seconds

Mana increased from 80 to 120
Launch Damage increased from 84 to 100
Attack Damage increased from 84 to 100
Splash Damage increased from 42 to 50
Attack Range increased from 5.75 to 6
Duration decreased from 7 to 6 seconds

Pyroblast (R2)

Mana increased from 80 to 120
Cooldown increased from 100 to 120 seconds
Target Damage decreased from 810 to 800
Explosion Damage decreased from 405 to 400
Pyroblast's cooldown is now reduced by 60 seconds if the target takes no damage

LEVEL 1

Convection (Reworked)
❢Quest: Hitting enemy Heroes with Flamestrike permanently increases its damage by 1%, up to 20%.

Nether Wind (Moved from Level 4)(Reworked)
Gravity Lapse restores 10 Mana for each enemy Hero hit.
Each Verdant Sphere also increases Gravity Lapse's range by 10%.

Fel Infusion (Reworked)
Gain 3% Spell Power, increased by an additional 3% for each inactive Verdant Sphere.

Mana Addict (Reworked)
❢Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Globe permanently increases your maximum Mana by 20.

LEVEL 4

Backdraft (Moved from Level 13)(Reworked)
Living Bomb's periodic damage heals you for 50% of the damage dealt.
Living Bomb's explosion Slows the initial target by 20% for 2 seconds.

Energy Roil (Reworked)
Gravity Lapse's cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds for each enemy Hero hit.
Each Verdant Sphere also makes Gravity Lapse heal you for 33 for each enemy Hero hit.

Mana Tap (Reworked)
Activating a Verdant Sphere heals you for 100% of the Mana restored.

Arcane Barrier (New)
Cooldown: 25 seconds
Active: Gain a Shield equal to 50% of your maximum Mana for 5 seconds.

LEVEL 7

Fury of the Sunwell (Moved from Level 16)(Reworked)
Flamestrike cast with 3 active Verdant Spheres explodes a second time 1.5 seconds later.

Fission Bomb (Moved from Level 13)(Reworked)
Increase the explosion radius of Living Bomb by 10%.
Each Verdant Sphere increases this bonus by an additional 5%.

Gravity Pressure (New)
Gravity Lapse cast with 3 active Verdant Spheres Slows enemies hit by 25% for 3 seconds after the Stun expires.

The Sunstrider (New)
Gain 5 Armor for each deactivated Verdant Sphere.
Gain 5% Attack Speed for each inactive Verdant Sphere.
Gain 5% Movement Speed for each active Verdant Sphere.

LEVEL 13

Ignite
Moved from Level 16.

Pyromaniac (Reworked)
Verdant Spheres recharge 50% faster while Living Bomb deals periodic damage.

Sunfire Enchantment (Moved from Level 7)(Reworked)
Activating a Verdant Sphere causes your next Basic Attack to instead deal 160 Spell Damage.

True Power (New)
Basic Attacks deal bonus damage equal to 5% of your maximum Mana.
Each active Verdant Sphere increases this bonus by an additional 5%.

LEVEL 16

Burned Flesh (Moved from Level 7)(Reworked)
Flamestrike deals bonus damages to Heroes equal to 4% of their maximum Health.
Each Verdant Sphere increases this bonus by an additional 2%.

Sun King's Fury (Moved from Level 7)(Reworked)
Living Bomb cast with 3 Verdant Spheres explodes 1.5 seconds sooner.

Gravity Stomp (New)
Gravity Lapse deals damage to all enemies near the impact.
Each Verdant Sphere also increases Gravity Lapse's damage by 25%.
Radius: 3

Twin Spheres (Reworked)
Deactivating only 2 Verdant Spheres reduces their cooldown by 2 seconds.

LEVEL 20

Rebirth (Reworked)
Phoenix may be ordered to move to a different location. When Phoenix expires for the first time, he explodes after 1 second instead, dealing 50 damage to nearby enemies, and may be ordered again.
Explosion Radius: 6

Presence Of Mind (Reworked)
Increase the explosion radius of Pyroblast by 50%.
Pyroblast deactivates all active Verdant Spheres and reduces its cooldown by 20 seconds for each.

Flamethrower (Reworked)
Increase Flamestrike's cast range by 30%.
Each Verdant Sphere also reduces Flamestrike's cooldown by 1.5 seconds.

Master of Flames
Unchanged.
