A mobile and sustainable Ranged Mage.

Perhaps the most accomplished of all living wizards, Khadgar was an apprentice to the Guardian Medivh until he helped defeat his master and destroy the Dark Portal created to summon the orcs to Azeroth. Though cursed with frailty and age, Khadgar nevertheless remains an exemplar for the Alliance, leading counterattacks against the Burning Legion and all who would threaten his world with annihilation.

Tips:
-Your Trait allows you to stay safe while building up the strength of your Abilities. Position yourself to maximize your own damage while minimizing damage taken.
-Arcane Missile's multiple charges and short cooldown make it your main source of damage and charging your bonus damage. It is a skillshot however, meaning positioning is key.
-Arcane Explosion is a good way to keep melee fighters off of you. Force enemies away and run if need be.
-Displacement has the ability to save you from major burst damage when used correctly. You can still move as it casts: take advantage of that by leading your enemies away from your teleport location.
-Prismatic Barrier gives you additional safety against strong mages. If used on the right Ability, it can even secure kills.
-Wave of Force is a strong and long ranged damage dealer that can be used frequently. Finish fleeing enemies or catch them chasing your allies.

Combat Trait

Battlemage
Khadgar can cast Abilities while moving, but can still be interrupted. Damaging an enemy with an Ability increases your Spell Power by 10% for 5 seconds, up to 40%.

Primary Abilities

Arcane Missile
Mana Cost: 30
Charge Cooldown: 5 seconds


Fires a bolt of magic, dealing 175 (+4%) damage to all enemies in it path. Has 3 charges.

Arcane Explosion
Mana Cost: 50
Cooldown: 10 seconds


Launch mystic energies out from you, dealing 200 (+4%) damage to enemies around you and knocking them back.

Displacement
Mana Cost: 80
Cooldown: 20 seconds


Teleport a short distance away after 1 second, recovering 30% of the Health you lost over the past 3 seconds. The range is increased by your bonus Spell Power.

Heroic Abilities

Mana Cost: 60
Cooldown: 30 seconds


Khadgar gains a shield of arcane power, granting 50 Spell Armor for 5 seconds. 50% of Spell damage taken is reflected back at the caster.

Wave of Force
Mana Cost: 100
Charge Cooldown: 60 seconds


Launch a slow moving wave of magic, dealing 400 (+4%) damage to enemies. Cannot damage Structures. Has 2 charges.

Level 1 Talents

Missile Volley (Q): Quest: Hit enemy Heroes with Arcane Missile.
Reward: After hitting 100 Heroes, reduce Arcane Missile's Mana Cost by 66%.
Reward: After hitting 200 Heroes, Arcane Missiles gains an additional charge.

Pipe of Insight (Active): Activate to restore 40% of your maximum Mana over 10 seconds. 60 second cooldown
Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes increases the Mana restored by 2% of your maximum Mana, up to 60%.

Moment of Respite (E): Displacement restores 50% of the Mana used over the past 3 seconds.

Level 4 Talents

Mage Armor (W): If Arcane Explosion hits an enemy Hero, Khadgar gains 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

Gem of Health (Active): Activate to restore 20% of your maximum Health over 6 seconds. 60 second cooldown
Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes increases the Health restored by 1.5% of your maximum Health, up to 30%.

Restorative Recall (E): Displacement recovers 50% of the Health lost over the past 5 seconds.

Level 7 Talents

Mana Stream (Q): If Arcane Missile hits an enemy Hero, the next Arcane Missile cast within 4 seconds deals 25% more damage.

Staff of Nethergarde (Active): Activate to make your Basic Attacks deal Spell damage for 6 seconds. 45 second cooldown.
Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes causes these Basic Attacks to heal Khadgar for 5% more of the damage dealt, up to 50%.

Escape Artist (E): If Khadgar gets stunned or rooted, Displacement's cooldown is instantly refreshed. This effect has a 10 second cooldown.

Level 13 Talents

Burst of Power (Q): Increases the cooldown of Arcane Missile by 7 seconds, but all charges are replenished at the same time.

Arcane Blast (W): Arcane Explosion gains double the Spell Power bonus from Battlemage.

Mind's Eye (Passive): After using an Ability, your next Basic Attack has its range increased by 2.

Level 16 Talents

Arcane Power (Passive) Every 3rd Basic Attack against the same enemy Hero casts a free Arcane Missile at them.

Mystic Force (W): Arcane Explosion's knockback is increased by 50%. Enemies hit are also slowed by 75% for 1 second.

Untapped Momentum (Passive): Hitting enemy Heroes with Abilities reduces the cooldowns of Basic Abilities by 1 second per Hero hit.

Level 20 Talents

Reflection Field (R): Prismatic Barrier grants 75 Spell Armor and applies to nearby allied Heroes.

Mana Waves (R): Wave of Force moves 30% faster and has its cooldown reduced by 10 seconds for each Hero hit.

War Mage (D): Battlemage can stack up to 60% bonus Spell Power.

Relenetless Magic (Passive): After using an Ability, your next Basic Attack within 5 seconds deals 50% additional damage. After Basic Attacking an enemy Hero, your next Basic Ability within 5 seconds deals 40% additional damage.

I really love the idea of a more sustained damage mage, and he seems really unique and interesting. My one critique is Displacement seems a little too powerful, as both a movement and sustain ability. Maybe lower the healing or increase the cooldown, as it works very well with his playstyle, but seems a bit too strong. In all, great idea!

Really like your concept, Ive always wanted to design a WoW Arcane mage type character but i can never find the right combination of abilities tbh.
Would like to see a talent for extending duration of passive, 3 seconds seems a little short to never have that option, maybe in competition with the one that increases amount your passive can give?
P.S. Love the WC3 references in some of the talents.

Thanks, glad you liked it! I was actually considering making the passive a base 5 seconds, but perhaps that would work better as a talent. Either way, hope my other concepts interest you too!

What do you mean no burst? That's all his damage.

His Ability damage is relatively low compared to other mages (ice lance 190 + frostbite, flamestrike 320, magic missiles up to 450). I meant more that his damage needs to be built up through his Trait, leading to more of a sustained damage feeling than burst.
