Lana'thel

Queen of the Darkfallen

A Ranged Assassin capable of great area damage, self-sustain, and disabling individuals with her Heroics.

Strengths:
+Powerful Ability Damage
+Sustain through her Abilities
+Heroics to incapacitate singular Heroes or a full team

Weaknesses:
-Crowd Control
-Diving her
-Reduced healing cripples her spellcasting

Blood-Queen Lana'thel is the leader of the San'layn, a group of Kael'thas' greatest followers, raised in undeath by the Lich King and transformed into vampiric beings. In the icy hills of Northrend, Arthas ultimately defeated Illidan and Kael'thas, and the expedition's few survivors were scattered across the frozen wastes. One by one the Lich King sought out those who had challenged him, and Lana'thel found herself cornered. Using Quel'Delar, she struck at him with all her might, but Frostmourne's evil powers overwhelmed her. Through his blade, the Lich King chose Lana'thel to serve him in undeath as blood-queen of the San'layn, a group responsible for overseeing the Scourge's operations across Azeroth.

Tips:
-Lana'thel is a mage that uses her Health instead of Mana with the ability to heal from her damaging spells. If her Abilities fail to connect, she can get herself killed easily.
-Twilight Bloodbolt is Lana'thel's bread and butter. Stay at the edge of fights and position to land multiple hits with it to keep your Health up.
-Swarming Shadows is the only utility Lana'thel brings in a fight and has a high cost, making it crucial for her to land effectively. Placing it into a large group of Heroes can help set up a Twilight Bloodbolt multi-hit.
-Delirious Slash is a good tool for repositioning in fights, but its longer cooldown keeps it from being used too frequently. Plan ahead if you will need it as an escape, an engage, a chasing tool, or additional damage to burst an enemy down.
-As Lana'thel's replacement for a mount, Flight of the Blood Queen is an even more powerful tool for moving around the map. The heightened speed compared to mounts and its ability to ignore terrain allows for some sneaking engages or careful escapes.
-Blood Queen's Bite is best picked up when a single powerful damage dealer is bringing you down. The bite can effectively remove them from a fight or be used to gank a lone Hero uncontested.
-Pact of the Darkfallen is the Heroic of choice when team fighting is the highest priority. It presents a difficult decision for the enemy team: either allow one Hero to be silenced and damaged for the full amount of 8 seconds, or share in the pain to reduce the effect on them.

Flight of the Blood Queen
Cooldown: 30 seconds

After 1 second, take flight, gaining 60% Movement Speed for up to 4 seconds and allowing you to fly over terrain. Damage, attacking, and using Abilities ends the flight.

Level 1 Talents

Frantic Feeding (D): San'layn Thirst's healing increases to 30% of the damage dealt while you are below 33% of your maximum Health.

Just a Taste (Active): Heal for 20% of your maximum Health over 4 seconds. Cooldown resets on takedowns. Cooldown 120 seconds.

Vampyr Claws (Passive): San'layn Thirst's healing applies for Basic Attacks as well.

Level 4 Talents

Siphoning Shadows (W): Heroes damaged by Swarming Shadows receive 40% less healing for 3 seconds.

Strengthening Shadows (W): Allied Heroes in Swarming Shadows are healed by 36 (+4%) Health every .5 seconds.

Swallowing Shadows (W): Quest: Damage enemies with Swarming Shadows 100 times.
Reward: Increase Swarming Shadow's duration by 1 second and its area by 30%.

Level 7 Talents

Lone Huntress (Q): Hitting only one Hero with a cast of Twilight Bloodbolt increases its damage by 50%.

Into the Night (Z): Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes increases your Health Regeneration by 1 per second, up to 20.
Reward: After collecting 20 Regeneration Globes, Flight of the Blood Queen makes you Unstoppable for 1 second.

Invigorating Blood (Passive): After casting an Ability, your next 2 Basic Attacks deal an additional 40% damage.

Level 13 Talents

Clinging Shadows (W): Increase the slow of Swarming Shadows to 50% and causes the last hit of damage to Root Heroes for 1 second.

Thirst's Reprieve (E): Hitting no enemies with a cast of Delirious Slash reduces its cooldown by 6 seconds and heals 20 (+4%) Health per second over 5 seconds.

Giant Stalker (Passive): Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes deal bonus damage equal to 1.5% of their maximum Health. This damage benefits from San'alyn Thirst's healing.

Level 16 Talents

Acidic Blood (Q): Heroes hit by Twilight Bloodbolt have their Armor reduced by 20 for 2 seconds.

Incite Terror (Z): Casting Flight of the Blood Queen Fears enemy Heroes around you for 1.5 seconds.

Frenzied Bloodthirst (Active): Activate to enter a rage, increasing your Basic Attack damage and Attack Speed by 100%, but reducing your Attack Range to melee and Silencing you for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 90 seconds.

Level 20 Talents

Know My Hunger (R): Your Abilities use the Health of the Hero bitten by Blood Queen's Bite instead of you for the duration.

Blood Mirror (R): Pact of the Darkfallen's damage increases by 20% for each Hero taking damage. This bonus damage doesn't count towards the total required to lift the curse.

Bloodbolt Whirl (Q + W): When Twilight Bloodbolt hits 2 or more Heroes, it casts an untalented Swarming Shadows at the point of impact and Swarming Shadows casts an untalented Twilight Bloodbolt bursting at the location it was cast at. Abilities cast by this are unaffected by San'layn Thirst.

Delirious Bloodbath (E): Increase the range of Delirious Slash by 50% and removes the Hero limit.

Talent Paths

AA LT: Taking advantage of the Basic Attack oriented talents (Vampyr Claws, Invigorating Blood, Giant Stalker, Frenzied Bloodthirst), LT becomes a Ranged Assassin with more versatile damage and saves her from relying on her Abilities for damage output. However, her Basic Attacks are still relatively weak outside of Invigorating Blood's bonus and Frenzied Bloodthirst's active, and committing to a Bloodthirst leaves LT even more susceptible to her counters due to her low Health compared to other melee characters. BQB would be the preferred Heroic to let her wade into a melee with an enemy Hero unable to harm her.

Q + W LT: By combining the talents adding to her Q (Lone Huntress, Acidic Blood) and her W (Swallowing Shadows, Clinging Shadows), you come upon the most "vanilla" build of LT as a traditional Mage, outputting Spell Damage in an area constantly. The talents allow her to focus on her strengths on a team in raw damage and additional CC, culminating in the Storm talent Bloodbolt Whirl to maximize her constant damage. PDF fits well as a Heroic to keep LT out of melee with certain Heroes and encouraging enemies to group up for her spells to deal more damage.

Defensive/Support LT: This path aims to increase LT's utility on a team and her own ability to evade enemies. Talenting her mount (Into the Night, Incite Terror) allows her to make a complete escape when the need arises while talenting her E (Thirst's Reprieve, Delirious Bloodbath) increases her moment to moment positioning. Strengthening Shadows also lets her use her W for allies as well and Acidic Blood can be taken if other Assassins or Bruisers on the team will be more effective at damaging enemies. Either Heroic can be helpful in this build, BQB to stop a Hero from chasing you or PDF to get enemies to group up for allied combos.
