Leeroy Jenkins

Pals for Life

A reckless Hero, Leeroy Jenkins can deal incredible burst or sustain damage while summoning Whelps that attack him and need to be moderated with his damage output.

Combat Trait

1
Rookery Whelps
Leeroy's abilities have high power, but they summon dragon Whelps that move 25% faster than normal Heroes, have 300 health, and attack Leeroy in melee range for 10 damage per second until they are killed. If Leeroy dies while there are active Whelps, the Whelps will proceed to attack nearby allies, preferring Heroes.

Primary Abilities

1
Crusader Strike (Q)
Charge Cooldown: 5 seconds

Leeroy's next Basic Attack is instant and hits for 300 damage, along with giving Leeroy 25% increased movement speed for 2 seconds as long as he faces the target. Summons 2 Whelps. Stores 2 charges.
Quoted:
Crusader Strike will allow Leeroy to crank out some massive single-target damage, but if used too frequently, can summmon a massive 18 Whelps in only 20 seconds (i.e. between uses of Divine Storm) which adds up 180 damage per second to Leeroy.
2
Divine Storm (W)
Cooldown: 20 seconds

Deal 300 damage to all enemies in a small radius around Leeroy.
Quoted:
Divine Storm will be an efficient way to reset the Whelps, but it has a lengthy cooldown.
3
Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken (E)
Heals Leeroy for 10% of his maximum health. 1 second delay between uses. Stores 5 charges, but loses charges on death.
Quoted:
This can be used to recover after a fight, especially if you've just been abused by a swarm of Whelps.

Secondary Abilities

1
Cook Chicken (1)
Cooldown: 20 seconds

Channeled Ability

Leeroy sits down and starts cooking Chicken for up to 10 seconds, causing Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken to gain a charge every 2 seconds. Cooking is interrupted upon taking damage.
Quoted:
As you may have just noticed, Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken doesn't naturally gain charges. This makes it critical that Leeroy remembers to cook his chicken before entering a fight.

Heroic Abilities

1
Time's Up, Let's Do This! (R)
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Leeroy gains 10% increased movement and attack speed each second for 10 seconds, but summons increasing amounts of Whelps each second. Can be cancelled.
Quoted:
This Heroic offers incredible damage output but can be very risky, and not just because he yells, "LEEEEROOOY!". The Whelps are summoned like so: 1 Whelp after the first second, 2 Whelps after the next second, 3 after the third, and so on. Knowing when to cancel the ability is key because if you summon more Whelps than you can handle, your allies will have to deal with at least 55 Whelps when you die, which can deal a massive 550 damage per second.

So you really could wipe your team with this! (Please don't though).
2
Blinding Light (R)
Cooldown: 70 seconds

Emit a blinding flash in a large radius around Leeroy, Blinding enemies for 4 seconds and additionally causing all struck Whelps to attack enemies until they die.
Quoted:
This Heroic allows Leeroy to become a more team fight potent Hero, by not only Blinding enemies in an area as large as Artanis's Suppression Pulse, but also causing Leeroy's Whelps to provide additional fight damage.

This would be the centerpiece of a Whelp build!

Level 1 Talents

Whelp Hunting (Quest)

Quest: Every time you kill a Whelp, gain 1 Armor against Whelps, up to 40 Armor.

Reward: After killing 40 Whelps, gain 10 Armor against ALL damage.

Grand Master Chef

Quest: Every time you cook a charge of Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken, reduce the cooking time by 1% and increase the heal amount by 1%, up to 50%.

Reward: After cooking 50 charges, increase the heal amount by an additional 50%.

Devout Shoulders

Increase maximum mana and mana regeneration by 25%.
Quoted:
Now he'll be able to heal better, he'll have more mana.

Level 4 Talents (Chicken Talents)

At Least I Have Chicken

When Leeroy dies while he has charges of Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken, nearby allied Heroes heal as if they used a charge of Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken. Prioritizes the closest Heroes. Up to 1 heal per Hero.
Quoted:
This talent says "As if they used a charge" instead of "10% of their maximum health" to indicate that it is affected by talents. The Heroes would need to be close by and the limit of 1 heal per hero prevents any insane healing while also making it more team-fight centered.

Dragon Whelp Feast

Every 5 Whelps you kill grant a charge of Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken, but you lose the ability to Cook Chicken.
Quoted:
This could allow for some solid in-combat healing which would allow Leeroy to have improved sustain damage.

Also, you can conveniently wipe out a bunch of Whelps using Divine Storm, then heal up right away!

Hot Sauce

Using Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken causes Leeroy's next basic attack to blast the enemy with flames dealing 50% increased damage and granting Leeroy 25% increased movement speed for 2 seconds as long as he faces the target.
Quoted:
This increased damage would count as ability damage, much like Varian's trait.

Level 7 Talents (Whelp Talents)

Delayed Hatching

Whenever you summon a Whelp, instead summon a Dragon Egg with 300 health that hatches a Whelp after a 3 second delay.

Scrambled Eggs

Whenever you kill a Whelp, gain 10% increased damage on your next Crusader Strike. Stacks up to 5 times.
Quoted:
This could allow for some broken burst damage, especially with Time's up, Let's do This!. Hence the stack limit of 5.

Divine Whelp Removal

Divine Storm now has a 50% reduced cooldown and gains an additional charge, but deals 50% less damage to Heroes.
Quoted:
The actual Hero damage is pretty much the same considering the cooldown reduction, so this talent doesn't give an actual damage output advantage.

This can increase his Whelp-clearing more accessible and his laning ability.

Level 13 Talents (Crusader Strike Talents)

Resilient Strike

Crusader Strike grants 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

Reckless Crusader

Crusader Strike deals 25% more damage, but summons a third Whelp.
Quoted:
Whelp build! Or just more recklessness.

Templar's Verdict

Every 3rd Crusader Strike hits for an extra 25% damage and Stuns for 0.75 seconds, but summons 2 additional Whelps.

Level 16 Talents

Divine Hurricane

Divine Storm now hits three times over 2 seconds for 50% of normal damage. Leeroy can move while casting Divine Storm.

Echoing Strike

Crusader Strike loses its second charge, but after a 2 second delay from the initial cast, a duplicate Crusader Strike is cast on the target, dealing 50% normal damage and granting Leeroy the full, 25% speed boost for two seconds while facing the target.

Crusader Slam

Crusader Strike takes one second to cast, but now reduces the Armor of struck Heroes by 25.

High-Protein Chicken

Lemme Eat Some of This Chicken now grants Leeroy 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

Level 20 Talents

Double Heroics!

Offers the choice of a second Heroic ability (Just like Alarak) that takes over the Trait (D) button.
Quoted:
The potential synergy between Leeroy's two Heroics is incredible. First, gain a huge damage buff and summon an army of Whelps. Then, turn those Whelps on the enemy and Blind them so they can barely deal with it.

This may seem OP but the counterplay would be to focus Leeroy as soon as you hear him yell, "LEEEEROOOY!" or Stun him so he can't use Blinding Light with it.

Execution Sentence (Active)

Cooldown: 60 seconds

A hammer falls from the sky, dealing 550 damage over 10 seconds, then ending with a burst of 100 damage.
Quoted:
The damage would apply like so: 10 damage after the first second, 20 in the next, 30 in the third, and so on.

Whelpish Frenzy

Leeroy's basic attacks now deal 25% increased damage and grant him an additional 25% increase to movement speed for two seconds while facing the target, but each attack now summons a Whelp.

Whelp Costume (Quest)

Quest: Kill 40 Whelps.

Reward: Upon killing 40 Whelps, you can also activate Whelp Costume to disguise yourself as a Whelp for 20 seconds. Taking or dealing damage dispels the illusion. 60 second cooldown.
Quoted:
This allows Leeroy to sneak up on enemy Heroes without actually being invisible, which has advantages and disadvantages.

- Disadvantage: If the enemy can tell you're not a regular Whelp, it's relatively pointless.
- Advantage: When the enemy sees the light bending around a stealth Hero, it is guaranteed to be hostile. When the enemy sees a Whelp, it's not guaranteed to be hostile, and thus can be the superior disguise.
