Lianna [WIP]

Zann Esu Sorceress

Lianna, a fierce sorceress, wields varied elemental powers, and unleashes them in concert upon her foes. 


Basic Statistics
Health: 720 (+125 per level)
Health Regen: 1.5 (+0.25 per level)

Mana: 500 (+10 per level)
Mana Regen: 1 (+0.1 per level) [Note: Innate ability provides strong regen.]

Attack Damage: 40 (+8 per level)
Attacks per second: 1
Range: 5.5

Intended difficulty: Medium

Combat Trait

Mastery
Regenerates 4% of maximum mana per second after not taking damage for 5 seconds. Ability damage is increased up to 30% based on current mana.

Primary Abilities

Charged Bolt
For 5 seconds, Lianna's basic attacks gain 35% range and deal ability damage instead of physical damage.

Frozen Orb
Launches a frozen orb in a direction, damaging and immobilizing enemies along its path. At its destination, the orb explodes and stuns enemies.

Immobilize/Stun duration: 1 second
Damage: 85 (+21 per level)
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Mana Cost: 75

[Note: pick the total travel range on cast; the orb cannot be detonated actively while it travels.]

Hydra
Summons a magical hydra head which attacks enemies in a line, targeted toward the nearest enemy (preferring heroes). Attacks 5 times over 3.5 seconds. Attack range increases with each attack.

Damage: 22 (+4 per level)
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Mana Cost: 75

[Note: attack missiles travel fairly slowly, allowing fair dodging.]

Heroic Abilities

Meteor
Crashes a huge meteor into the ground, dealing heavy delayed damage and massively slowing enemies.

Delay: 1.5 seconds
Slows movement speed 80%, diminishing over 1.5 seconds.
Damage: 290 (+50 per level)
Cooldown: 70 seconds
Mana Cost: 100

Static Field
Charges an area, dealing damage to all enemies within instantly and each second for 3 seconds. Enemies are stunned for 0.1 seconds each time.

Damage: 8% of Maximum Health (for a total of up to 32% maximum health)
Cooldown: 80 seconds
Mana Cost: 100

Talent Choices

Level 1:
a) [Q] Chain Lightning: Charged Bolt causes basic attacks to chain to 2 additional targets for 25% damage.
b) [Q] Telekinesis: Charged Bolt causes the next basic attack to lift the target into the air for 1 second.
c) [Q] Charged Bolt also increases attack speed by 35% for its duration.
d) [D] Power Hungry: activate to absorb all healing globes in a large radius and restore 10% mana over 5 seconds.

Level 4:
a) [W] Glacial Spike: Frozen Orb deals 40% increased damage at its main impact point.
b) [W] Icy Blast: Frozen Orb's ending explosion gains 33% increased radius.
c) [W] Frozen Orb also releases a frost nova around Lianna on cast, immobilizing nearby foes for 1.5 seconds. 
d) Envenom

Level 7:
a) [E] Arcane Hydra: Hydra begins with maximum range and restores 10 mana to Lianna per attack which strikes a target.
b) [E] Lightning Hydra: Hydra attacks 7 times over 3.5 seconds and its missiles travel twice as fast.
c) [E] Mammoth Hydra: Hydra attacks are 33% wider and 33% stronger
d) [D] Increases the maximum ability power bonus from mana to 50%.

Level 13:
a) [Q] Increases the duration of Charged Bolt by 2 seconds.
b) [W, E] Increses the cast range of Frozen Orb and Hydra by 3.
c) [D] Dominance: upon reaching full mana, gain a shield equal to 20% maximum health for 20 seconds. Can occur once per 20 seconds.
d) Blaze: Sprint variant, leaving behind a trail of fire dealing minor damage.

Level 16:
a) [Q] Charged Bolts deal 60% increased damage against stunned, rooted, or slowed targets.
b) [W] Frozen Orb restores 10 mana and its cooldown is reduced 1 second per target hit, up to 5 targets.
c) [E] Hydra gains a second charge. Hydras may not be placed too near each other.

Level 20:
a) [R1] Meteor has 33% increased range and radius, and leaves behind damaging magma.
b) [R2] Static Field duration increased by 1 second, and allies gain 40% movement speed in the area.

Playstyle Notes

As Lianna: 

1) Lianna's talents can shape her into a basic attack-based assassin, but typical play will include ability-boosting talents. Take advantage of all of Lianna's basic abilities, particularly considering the early talent tiers which force benefits across her kit.

2) Lianna is great at zone control, threatening to snare enemies with Frozen Orb, or interrupting enemies with Charged Bolt and Hydra.

3) Avoiding all damage allows you to maximize Mastery's damage benefit; play it safe!

Against Lianna: 

1) Beware Lianna's long range abilities around objectives, and instead bring the fight to her. 

2) If your movement is limited, moving toward frozen orb may allow you to be only immobilized instead of stunned.

3) Hydras cannot be destroyed, but their attacks are easily avoidable by strafing.

Neat concept. Frozen Orb seems a little too good though. It's like Arthas' Howling blast on steroids. Maybe consider lowering the duration on the root/stun or changing it to a slow (maybe slow/stun?) or lowering the damage a bit.

Thanks! I'll be revisiting this soon (was away a while). I'll definitely tone down the Frozen Orb in some way.

It's a very good concept of Diablo 2 Sorceress. I like that you gave her multielemental abilities. Her trait seems to be very useful, too. Also the concept doesn't lack iconic abilities like Hydra or Meteor. What can I say more? Just good job here.
