Hey there folks! So I saw a post on Reddit the other day about what new Heroes the community wanted to see implemented into the game. To my surprise, no one mentioned Maiev Shadowsong. Well, since I think she is really cool and have great lore behind her, I made it my mission to see if I could make her a viable Hero.
So who is Maiev?
To answer that question, you need to answer another question: Who are the Wardens? The mysterious wardens serve as the night elves' special police force in Kalimdor. Set apart from the militant Sentinels, wardens are usually employed as jailors, assassins, and bounty hunters. When loosed upon escaped criminals, wardens employ a number of supernatural powers that enable them to recapture their prey and mete out the night elves' justice.
To cut things short, she was the Jailor of Illidan that you can see in the game today. After his release, Illidan started to cause trouble and Maiev hunted him around the globe to serve justice. There is much more to it, but one can simply say that Maiev was often seen as the Hunter and Illidan was the Prey.
How would Maiev Shadowsong work as a Hero?
The Wardens was often described as being made to take things out and that translates well as the role of an Assassin. They were also known to be able to Blink around the battlefield to outmaneuver their opponents.
Wait a minute? An assasin that kills things and blinks around? Doesn't something like that already exsist?
Yes, Zeratul is very similar in how you could picture a Warden. He has the Teleport to move around the map and he even have his own version of Fan of Knives (More of this later). With this I tried to make the Warden more aggressive instead of waiting in the shadows for a chance to strike. Once they find their target, there is no escape.

Things I have done:
* Reworked Vengeance ultimate.
* Made my first attempt on talents.(1 - 13) (Not complete.)
Having played Warcraft III, this concept is very close to my heart. I feel like I would enjoy playing this hero immensely. Also, I think that vengeance should function more like it does in Warcraft. For every some amount of damage dealt to ANY TARGET, it would summon shadow spirit. It would also have substantial health, so it would be a threat that would take some effort to focus. That's my idea, anyway. I like this concept in general though.
if the vengeance doesnt attack why you call it vengeance
