MELEE SUPPORT

This concept could actually be used to any Dreadlord (Tichondrius or Varimathras, for example), but Mal'Ganis seems to be a more popular hero.

I can see lots of different approaches to designing Mal'Ganis, and I think all of them are kind of valid. I've seen people suggesting him to be a Warrior - more akin to his role in Warcraft 3 - , or a melee assassin. But I think a Melee Support would be a nice role for him, making his team heal through vampirism (life steal) and controlling enemies.

This design makes him pair extremely well with melee assassin and a very offensive team.

One interesting thing to note is that I did not include Sleep as a basic ability, one of his most iconic powers in Warcraft 3. I felt his design should be based around life steal and attacking the enemies, and Sleep went to the opposite direction of that goal (and it was too similar to Xul's Bone Prison basic ability). It is included as a high-level talent, though.

You and nearby allied Heroes restore Health equal to 15% of damage dealt by basic attacks.

Primary Abilities

[Damaging skillshot and life steal]
Launches a swarm that deals moderate damage to all enemies in its path. For 3 seconds, you and all allied Heroes regain Health equal to 15% of any damage dealt against these targets.

[W] Unholy Frenzy
[Attack speed buff]
Grants nearby targeted allied Hero a 40% bonus to attack speed for 3 seconds. After this period, target becomes exhausted, having a 20% penalty to attack speed for 2 seconds.

[E] Psychic Scream
[Damage over time and slow]
Sends out a psychic scream that affects all nearby enemies. Affected targets take moderate damage over time and is slowed by 20% for 2 seconds. Each time an affected enemy is attacked by you or an allied Hero, that duration is increased by 0.25 second, to a maximum of 4 seconds total duration.

Heroic Abilities

[Burst healing]
The target instantly heals a large value, but is affected by False Life for 4 seconds. Each time the target makes a basic attack, increase the duration of this effect by 0.5 second, to a maximum of 8 seconds total duration.
When the False Life effect ends, the target takes damage equal to the same amount it healed by this ability, but this damage cannot reduce the target's Health to less than 1.

[Delayed AoE damage and stun]
After 3 seconds, an infernal meteor crashes in the area, dealing high damage to all enemies and stunning them for 2 seconds.
