Mal'Ganis

the Defiler of the Nathrezim

The Nathrezim, more commonly known as Dreadlords, are a fearsome and powerful race. Adept in both physical combat and powerful arcane magic, these terrible creatures wreak havoc as some of the Burning Legions most powerful agents. Among these dreaded creatures is Mal'Ganis. After the creation of the Scourge in Northrend, Mal'Ganis lead them against the city of Stratholm, turning the city into an Undead bastion. After the city was purged by Arthas Menathil, Mal'Ganis provoked the young prince into following him to Northrend and claiming Frostmourne. 

He was ultimately betrayed by his charge, the Lich King Ner'zhul, and destroyed by Arthas, but the Nathrezim are not so easily deterred. After returning time and again to seek his revenge, Mal'Ganis has arrived in the Nexus, seeking power and conquest. The hour has arrived for the Dreadlords revenge!

Combat Trait

Vampiric Touch
Whenever Mal'Ganis deals damage with a Basic Attack or an Ability, he will regenerate 1% of his max health over 5 seconds. This effect may have up to 3 instances ongoing simultaneously.

Primary Abilities

Carrion Swarm
Mal'Ganis sends out a swarm of carrion in a line directly away from him. Enemies in the line take 140 (+4% per level) damage and the carrion remain for 3 seconds dealing 65 (+4% per level) damage per second to enemies and slowing their movement speed by 25% for 2 seconds.

Sleep
Mal'Ganis puts target enemy hero to sleep, stunning them for 4 seconds. Mal'Ganis dashes a short distance, passing through units and dealing 105 (+4% per level) damage to enemies in the path.

Heroic Abilities

Curse of Doom
Mal'Ganis places a Curse of Doom on target enemy hero. The curse deals 300 (+4% per level) over 10 seconds. When the curse expires, is cleansed, or the target dies a powerful Doomguard is summoned at their location with total hitpoints equal to 100% of Mal'Ganis current hp and will fixate the target of the curse, attacking them until they die, or it is slain. Once the Doomguard's target is dead, it will attack nearby enemies until it exprires or is killed. The Doomguard lasts 12 seconds.

Vampiric Aura
Mal'Ganis begins to exude an an aura of vampiric cruelty for 6 seconds. All allied heroes recover 15% of their damage dealt while in the aura's range, including Mal'Ganis. Additionally, Mal'Ganis recieves additional healing equal to 50% of the healing done to allies by this effect. Healing from allied damage during this Ability triggers Vampiric Touch.

Mal'Ganis in the Nexus

Mal'Ganis is a powerful Warrior, but also a master of dark powers. His durability and strength combined with his Fel Rush ability allow him to peel for his opponents. Sleep can be used to lock down foes who may threaten your assassins or supports. But his abilities can also be used to destroy his enemies. Mal'Ganis has two very powerful Heroic Abilities, which can turn the tide of a teamfight if used properly, and provided he can stay engaged without being caught in the middle of the enemy team, he can keep his Health high even while taking considerable damage.

Unfortunately, Mal'Ganis does not posses the durability of some Warriors in the Nexus. If he is locked down by enemy Crowd Control and unable to utilize his passive he will die quickly. Players should think carefully about how to use his Fel Rush ability when approaching teams with CC, and pick their target for Sleep carefully. Selecting an opponent who your team will be focusing will result in the effect being broken immediately, but picking a combatant who is less influential in the teamfight can reduce its potency.

Talents

Level 1:

- Block: Every 5 seconds, you can block a Basic Attack from an enemy Hero, reducing its damage by 50%. Stores up to 2 charges.

- Maximum Leech: Increases the max number of Vampiric Touch charges from 3 to 4.

- Vampiric Gluttony: When Vampiric Touch activates, Mal'Ganis gains 1 permanent Hitpoint.

- Regeneration Master: Collecting Regeneration Globes permanently increases Health Regeneration by 1.5 per second.

Level 4:

- Vampiric speed: Reduce the healing time of Vampiric Touch from 5 seconds to 4. This does not effect the total healing of the Ability.

- Infestation: Enemy heroes struck by Carrion Swarm suffer 95 (+4% per level) damage per second for 3 seconds. They are immune to damage dealt from Carrion Swarm's ground effect during this time.

- Carrion Turmoil: Damage dealt by Carrion Swarm's ground effect will not reduce the duration of Sleep.

- Careless Slumber: Taking damage no longer reduces the duration of sleep, however its duration is reduced to 2 seconds from 5.

Level 7:

- Carrion Plague: Carrion swarm deals 50% extra damage to non-heroic targets, and 100% extra damage to structures.

- Carrion Charge: Increases the movement speed, Range, and damage of Fel Rush by 25% if it passes through the ground effect created by Carrion Swarm.

- Burning Hate: Fel Rush has its cooldown reduced by 2 seconds for each enemy hero hit up to a max of 3 targets. 

- Inflict Nightmare: Targets effected by Sleep take 185 (+4% per level) damage over its duration. This damage does not effect the Abilities duration.

Level 10:

- Curse of Doom: Mal'Ganis places a Curse of Doom on target enemy hero. The curse deals 300 (+4% per level) over 10 seconds. Level 13:

- Spell Shield: Upon taking Ability Damage, reduce that damage and further Ability Damage by 50% for 3 seconds. Can only trigger once every 30 seconds.

- Relentless: Reduces the duration of silences, stuns, slows and roots against your Hero by 50%.

- No escape: Targets struck by Carrion Swarm are rooted for 1.5 seconds.

- Burning Fel: Fel Rush leaves a fiery trail which deals 60 (+4% per level) damage per second to any enemy who passes through it. This effect lasts 4 seconds.

Level 16:

- Carrion Leech: Dealing damage with Carrion swarm or its ground effect will return 50% of the damage as healing to Mal'Ganis.

- Deadly Slumber: Targets inflicted with sleep become Vulnerable and take 25% increased damage for 3 seconds.

- Executioner: Basic Attacks deal 40% more damage against slowed, rooted, or stunned targets.

- Blood for Blood: Activate to deal 10% of target enemy Hero's Max Health and heal for twice that amount.

Level 20:

- Curse of Ultimate Doom: Curse of Doom deals the same damage in 6 seconds down from 10. The summoned Doomguard gains bonus Health equal to the total damage dealt to the target by Curse of Doom and Burning Rage dealing 23.92 (+4% per level) damage per second to nearby enemies.

- Vampiric Mastery: While Vampiric Aura is active, takedowns heal Mal'Ganis for 50% of the killed Heroes maximum Health.

- Hardened Sheild: Activate to reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds.

- Rewind: Activate to reset the cooldowns of your Basic Abilities.
