Maraad

Founding member of the new Council of Trisfal

It's kind of surprising we still don't have a Draenei character in HOTS, so I came up with the idea to make a Draenei concept myself.And who I've chosen?... Maraad!!!



First a little bit of information on his backstory:
A wandering warrior of faith, Vindicator Maraad is a pillar of draenei society. After prevailing against evil in the Northrend campaign, this hammer-wielding paladin began instructing the other races of the Alliance in the ways of the Light. Exposure to Azeroth’s myriad dangers has left Maraad prone to action above meditation—he will strike while others tarry.

Now the Concept:



Despite his categorization as a support, Maraad is designed to mainly fufill the spot of a frontline assasin while also having moderate supportive functions.He is designed in the opposite way than Tyrande.While Tyrande must be offensive to empower her healing, Maraad must be supportive to empower his damage, mainly due to his Trait.

Combat Trait

Heroic Presence
Activate to choose an ally hero to protect.The more health that ally has, the more damage you deal, up to 50% when at full health.The chosen ally must remain near you to grant the effect.

Cooldown:8 seconds

Heal the target ally hero for 279 health over 2.5 seconds.

Crusader Strike
Cooldown:6 seconds
Mana:30
Charge at the target enemy and deal them 182 damage, while slowing them by 25% for 3 seconds.All enemies in a small area behind the primary target take 132 damage.Only the primary target is slowed.If used while mounted, Crusader strike will deal 35% more damage to the primary target.

Consecration
Cooldown:12 seconds
Mana:60
Consecrate the surrounding area for 5 seconds.All enemies in the consecration take 75 damage per second.
(Every second has 5 ticks of 15 damage)


Passive:The primary target of Crusader Strike will be stunned for 0.5 seconds if they stood within the consecration when hit.

Heroic Abilities

Cooldown:60 seconds
Mana:75
All ally heroes are instantly mounted and gain the ability to mount instantly. Also they no longer dismount upon taking damage and their mount has no cooldown. Lasts 10 seconds.

Certain heroes aren't affected.

Cooldown:70 seconds
Mana:50
All nearby ally heroes gain 20 armor for 5 seconds.The armor bonus is doubled while they stand in the consecration.

LEVEL 1 TALENTS

Heart of the Crusader(W):While mounted, Crusader Strike's cast range is increased by 50%.
!Quest:Hit enemy heroes with Crusader Strike from your mount.
!Reward:After hitting 10 heroes, your mount speed will parcially increase by up to 40% over 2 seconds as long as you keep moving, while mounted.Bonus mount speed is lost if you stop moving or dismount.
!Reward:After hitting 25 heroes, Crusader Strike gains a second charge.

Hammer of the Rightetous(E):While standing in the consecration, Maraad's Basic attacks deal 50% splash damage behind the target.
!Quest:Keep enemy heroes in the Consecration.Multiple heroes in it at once cause the quest to progress faster.
!Reward:After keeping enemy heroes in the consecration for 15 seconds, increase its radius by 25%.
!Reward:After keeping enemy heroes in the concecration for 30 seconds, make it so ally heroes that stand in it can't have their armor reduced and increase the duration by 3 seconds.

Retribution(Trait):If the ally hero you have chosen to protect with heroic presence dies, you gain 40% damage increase for the duration of their death.If you decide to choose a different ally hero to protect during this time ,the effects of Retribution will be lost.

LEVEL 4 TALENTS

Hammer of the Naaru(Q):Gift of the Naaru resets Crusader Strike.

Blessing of Protection(Q):Gift of the Naaru makes its target avoid all basic attacks for 2.5 seconds.

Blessing of Freedom(Q):Gift of the Naaru increases the target's move speed by 20% for 2.5 seconds and prevents them from having their move speed lowered for the duration.

Light of the Protector(Q):If gift of the Naaru is used on a target that stands inside Consecration, the duration of that Consecration will be extended by 3 seconds and the target will be healed for 50% more.

LEVEL 7 TALENTS

Grand Crusader(W):If Crusader Strike hits 2 or more heroes, its cooldown will be reduced by 4 seconds.Also if the primary target of Crusader Strike is a hero the slow will be applied to all enemies hit.

Consecrated Projection(E):Ally heroes that stand in the Consecration gain 20% increased attack speed and move speed.Maraad himself also gains 4 extra basic attack range while in the Consecration.

Greater Blessing of the Kings(Trait):The ally hero that you are protecting with Heroic Presence gains a shield equal to 15% of the maximum health that regenerates when out of combat and lasts until you choose a different ally to protect or if the current one gets out of range.

Passive:The damage bonus of Heroic Presence now maxes out at 65% instead of 50%.

LEVEL 10 TALENTS

Divine Steed(Heroic):Cooldown:60 seconds
Mana:75
All ally heroes are instantly mounted and gain the ability to mount instantly. Also they no longer dismount upon taking damage and their mount has no cooldown. Lasts 10 seconds.

All nearby ally heroes gain 20 armor for 5 seconds.The armor bonus is doubled while they stand in the consecration.

LEVEL 13 TALENTS

Divine Judgment(W):Crusader strike grants Maraad and nearby ally heroes a shield equal to 50% of the damage it dealt.Lats 3 seconds.

Divine Protection(E):Enemy heroes in the Consecration deal 25% less damage.

Gemcutting(Active):Every 60 seconds, gain 50 Spell Armor against the next enemy Ability and subsequent Abilities for 3 seconds.Takedowns refresh the cooldown of Gemcutting.
Can be toggled to allow or prevent this talent from triggering automatically.

Horse Armor(Mount):Maraad are gains 25 while mounted and for 2 seconds after.

LEVEL 16 TALENTS

Templar's Verdict(E):Crusader Strike now also stuns secondary targets hit in the Consetration.

Passive:Stun duration is increased by 50%
Passive:Crusader strike's 'mounted' bonus damage now apllies to all enemies hit.

Hand of Hindrance(E):Enemy heroes hit by Consecration are slowed by 10%.Stacks 5 times and persists for 0.5 seconds after exiting the Consecration.

Avenging Wrath(E):Enemy heroes hit by Consecration take an additional 0.3% of their max health as damage.

Infusion of Light(E):While Maraad stands in the Consecration, his basic abilities cooldown 75% faster.

LEVEL 20 TALENTS

Holy Mount(Heroic):Maraad is now always capable of mounting instantly and hitting an enemy hero with Crusader Strike resets the cooldown of your mount.Crusader Strike's 'mounted' bonus damage is also increased to 70%.

Passive:Increase the duration of Divine Steed by 50%.

Shield of Vengeance(heroic):All of the damage absorbed by Shield of the righteous is suffered by the attacker.Cooldown is also reduced by 20 seconds.

Consecrated Fire(E):Enemies hit by Consecration take 15% increased damage with every consecutive hit.No cap.

Shadow Resistance(Active):Cooldown:45 seconds
Activate to give all nearby allied Heroes a Shield for 15% of their max Health for 3 seconds.While affected by the shield, ally heroes become immune to percetage based damage.

I've updated divine steed so that it basically has the same function but doesn't require new models for every single hero. Hope it's fine now. Also I removed the bonus move speed for non-mounters to give him a focus on the heroes that would benefit from remaining mounted like Malthael or Rehgar (Medvedev is still an exception though because he would be practically invulnerable with it) A couple of other changes were also made including the new horse armor talent

Divine Steed Lunara looks terrifying! lol

Though I have to say, that Heroic has many problems as it would mean most heroes would need ability casting, attacking and everything animation while being mounted.
