Those skills are really nice, the idea behind them are quite interesting, but as you underlined it, randomness can be an issue.
Here's some changes I could see happening :
-Q : instead of randomness, you could make a rotation of those 3 effects. This way, it'd be a bit more strategic in its use
-E : how about a random place in a large area at least X range from where he stands, and in a direction (like half a circle in target direction). This way he would move at least a bit in a direction, but he wouldn't choose exactly where
-R2 : It looks like Diablo's Apocalypse a bit too much IMO, but I like the idea of a chessboard. How about spawning a huge chessboard on target location ; enemies on black areas are immobilized or stunned, and the ones one white areas take damage or something else. At level 20 you could buff allies the same way (can't be CCed on an area type / get a heal or something on the other)
How does that sounds ? :)
Good point, especially rotation of Q effects seems to be great ideas! Thanks for suggestions!

I really like the concept of the traits, but maybe make him choose in between the two of them, and instead buff them both a little bit, individually. Maybe also make him have a third trait -- One that would make him directly useful to his allies, giving him much of the monk's versatility (Either play to help yourself, and, indirectly, your team ; Or, play to deal more damage ; Or, play to DIRECTLY help your team.)
An idea for cheat would be to give the random CC effect to the primary target, and instead give the aoe damage to the targets around him.
Other than this, I really like the concept!
Thank you! :) I was little bit affraid with proposing abilities with random effects, but who know - maybe it could work well. I think that it would match perfectly Medivh's insanity.
About that second trait - it's not exactly the trait in sense of ability. It's just rather his specific basic attack - I'm not sure how many heroes, especially Support ones, have splash basic attack (I know that Tassadar in Archont form has, but I'm not sure about others) so I wanted to recompensate lack of proper AOE skill (since Q would be single targeted). Basic splash attack would be good in first phases of game, when team is mostly farming experience on minions.
But his main ability trait would be the first one, Guardian of Tirisfal. I think it could be nice contra for stealthies, especially if there would be more heroes with stealth (for example a hero based on WoW Rogue, or D2 Assassin, etc.) - just like Tassadar, Medivh could greatly counter them.
