Mephisto is a Melee Diablo Specialist, a powerful utility mage
Difficulty: Very Hard
Idea design behind Mephisto is to be a combo based utility mage. Due to his extremely poor basic attacks, his trait is his only real source of damage. He encompasses almost all sources of crowd control, but at the cost of no mobility, relatively predictable damage, and a low health pool
Strengths
-Insane utility
-Insane crowd control
-Very high burst potential
-Good self sustain
-High Skillcap
Weakness
-No mobility
-One of the lowest health pools in the game
-The worst basic attacks in the game
-Combo and timed based, can be inconsistent.
-High Skillfloor

-Damage is additive, 58 at base, 580 at max
-To compare, Li mings orb does 405 damage at max range and a minimum of 135 at level 1
Primary Abilities
1
Q - Iceball
2.5 Second Cooldown
Skillshot
Launch a ball of ice that travels in a line slowing enemies by 15% for 3 seconds. This effect stacks. At 3 stacks, the target is rooted for 2 seconds and the stacks are reset.
-If you miss a shot during the stacking process or are delayed for any amount of time, you have to start all over if you want the root

Targeted AoE
Acid rains down in the area for 3 seconds, blinding enemies inside it
-Leaving the area removes the blind
3
E-Eruption

Targeted AoE

-The knockback is the same as guldans horrify, going based on which direction you are from the center.
Heroic Abilities
1
R1-Skull Missle
80 Second Cooldown
Launch a slow moving missle at an enemy hero, stunning them and nearby enemies for 1.75 seconds. Enemies stunned by Skull Missle take 100% more damage from Charged Blast -Moves at about the speed of pryoblast
2
R2-Haunting Spirt
25 second cooldown
Send out a haunting spirit to an enemy hero, greatly reducing their Vision for 6 seconds.
-Global Range.
Pairs well with
DIABLO
Diablos crowd control can allow mephisto to land his abilities easily and provids enough time for Mephisto to set up his damage. Overpower into Eruption can further displace enemies back to your team
Is strong Against
THE BUTCHER
His numerous CC can prevent butcher from doing almost anything in teamfights unless he gets an early lambs off on you. Acid cloud can be pre dropped to negate Butchers combo aswell and denying him Brand Healing.
Struggles Against
NOVA
Nova and most stealth heroes can jump Mephisto before he has any time to set up on a target. Nova in particular is also strong against Mephisto due to being ranged and less effected by Acid cloud and his low health pool means Mephisto will die very quickly. Haunting Spirit helps somewhat with this issue however
? These were literally his boss fight abilities. Poison, Freeze, charged bolt AOE (lightning), Skull Missile and eruption was when he died and did the ritual for diablo. Im not sure i understand.
Yes, he had poison, freezing, and a charged bolt aoe(as well as the other two), but the way you have to combo them together(plus the lack of damage on every ability except for charged bolt) doesnt really fit Mephisto, imo. Thing is I can't really think of someone else that the 'combo mentality' fits.
But ignoring that, the actual concept is solid. The idea of a hero who doesnt do damage with his normal abilities and instead stacks debuffs for 1 giant burst of damage is sweet. I just really dont find it fits Mephisto that well. It just feels... off.
Ill think about this. I see a lot of people peg mephisto as a support but I still dont reallysee it. Mephisto was the most the cunning and patient of the Evils. That just makes me think mage.
Most things back then was very generic in terms of abilities for bosses, it leaves a lot of up to imagination so i dont think the support mephisto concepts was THAT big of a stretch. Mephisto's boss fight moreso about spamming his 3 main spells (freeze, poison, lightning) moreso than tactical precision like I have in this concept, despite that it fits his personality description. I try to imagine what he would be like if they say, redid him as a D3 Boss fight.
I may want to pull a thrall/rehgar though and give this design (the idea of a combo utiltiy mage, not the actual spells) to another hero and reimagine mephisto as a support aswell. I try to keep true to the source but this might not be a scenario where its applicable.
