The Fourth Horseman

"A unrelenting horseman who uses unholy plagues and undead minions to vanquish foes." Melee Specialist-Medium.

Darion Mograine was the son of the paladin Alexandros Mograine, wielder of the legendary Ashbringer. Inspired by his father to defend his native Lordaeron from the Scourge, Mograine joined the Argent Dawn and launched a raid on the citadel of Naxxramas. Inside, he came face to face with the corrupted Alexandros, leader of the Scourge's elite Four Horsemen. Triumphant, Darion made the terrible sacrifice to redeem his father's soul and take his place as a death knight. Liberated by the Argent Crusade in their war against the Lich King, Darion has taken his father's place as Lord of the Horsemen, now fighting to save Azeroth instead of conquering it.

-Mograine is a deadly Melee Assassin capable of both chasing down enemy Heroes and bringing them before him. Like Falstad or Lunara, he is a mounted combatant who passively moves faster. His trait Deathcharger increases this bonus with every Takedown.

-His first Basic Ability is the iconic Death Grip, a death knight mainstay. Mograine will reach out with dark tendrils, tugging the first enemy hit to his location. Death Grip can grab enemy minions if not aimed properly.
-His second Basic Ability is Scourge Strike. Mograine will strike his enemy, dealing damage and infecting them with a disease that deals additional damage over time.
-His final Basic Ability, Defile, gives Mograine powerful AoE damage. While standing in Defile, enemies take a small amount of damage. If Mograine is standing in Defile, Scourge Strike will now Cleave, hitting all enemies in front of him.

-Mograine's two Heroics give him great utility in a teamfight. The Four Horsemen will come at their Highlord's call, charging forward in a terrifying formation. Any enemies trampled by the Horsemen take damage and are Stunned for a short time. Mograine will charge alongside his Horsemen and is immune while charging. Unlike his Horsemen, Mograine cannot charge through terrain and will come to a halt if he collides.
-With Necrotic Strike, Mograine will brand an enemy with a powerful curse, preventing all healing that target would receive for a short duration. Instead, Mograine will absorb all healing meant for your unfortunate enemy.

-Mograine is a mobile Melee Assassin, but his health pool is smaller than most other Melee damage dealers. He has several talent options to supplement this weakness such as Death Strike or Might of Mograine. Reliant on his increased movement speed to keep up with enemies, Heroes with powerful CC and ranged damage are particularly good against Mograine, such as Jaina or Lunara.

-Finally, Mograine has several talents to augment his Death Knight experience. Arise! is a powerful tool that turns fallen allies into Ghouls for a short time. The Shambler is a particularly foul undead minion that will make spreading Scourge Strike even easier. Gorefiend's Grasp will bring all enemies before you and the Corrupted Ashbringer will add to your dark repertoire.

Passive: Mograine moves 10% faster. Hero Takedowns increase your Movement Speed by 5% for 5 seconds, up to a maximum of 35% Movement Speed.

Primary Abilities

Death Grip
12 second cooldown.

Grab an enemy and pull them to your location.

Scourge Strike
3 second cooldown.

Deal X damage and an additional 50% damage over 3 seconds. Multiple casts will extend the duration.
3
Defile
12 second cooldown.

Blanket the ground in unholy power for 5 seconds, dealing X damage per second to all enemies within. While standing in Defile, Scourge Strike now Cleaves.

Heroic Abilities

90 second cooldown.

Summon your fellow Horsemen and charge forward, dealing X damage and Stunning all enemies hit for 1.25 seconds.

Necrotic Strike
40 second cooldown.

Strike an enemy Hero for X damage. For the next 2 seconds, all healing the target receives will heal you instead.

Talents

1:
A: Quest: Clawing Shadows: Grab 20 enemy Heroes with Death Grip. Reward: Increase the range of Death Grip by 10%.
B: Quest: Virulent Plague: Every time an enemy Hero takes damage from Scourge Strike, increase its initial damage by 1, up to a maximum of 200. Reward: Increase the damage of Scourge Strike by an additional 100.
C: Quest: Desecrated Ground: Damage enemy Heroes 100 times with Defile. Reward: Increase the radius and duration of Defile by 50%.

4:
A: Festering Strike: Scourge Strike lasts an additional 2 seconds.
B: Bursting Sores: When Scourge Strike's DoT effect ends, it will splash, dealing 25% of its total damage to nearby enemies.
C: Blighted Runeblade: Scourge Strike increases the damage of your next Basic Attack by 25% per enemy Hero hit.

7:
A: Tightening Grasp: Successfully grabbing an enemy Hero with Death Grip will reduce its cooldown by 6 seconds, but failing to grab an enemy Hero will increase its cooldown by 6 seconds.
B: Unholy Frenzy: For every second that Scourge Strike is active on an enemy Hero, increase your Attack Speed by 5%.
C: Death Strike: While standing in Defile, Scourge Strike generates a shield for 25% of all damage dealt for 6 seconds.

A: Horn of Winter: Enemy Hero Takedowns increase your Attack Damage by 10% for 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 50%.
B: The Shambler: Using Scourge Strike on an enemy Hero generates one charge. Consume 10 charges to summon a Shambler zombie, which will explode after 3 seconds, dealing X damage to all enemies and affecting them with Scourge Strike.
C: Outbreak: Scourge Strike now has 2 charges.
D: Decomposing Aura: After Defile ends, enemies standing in the area have their Armor reduced by 10 for 5 seconds.

16:
A: Arise!: 60 second cooldown. Revive all fallen Allies as Ghouls for 3 seconds. Ghouls can Leap at a target, Slowing them by 10% per Leap.
B: Asphyxiate: Death Grip now Silences an enemy Hero for 1 second.
C: Dark Mire: Defile Slows enemies by 20%. Enemies affected by Scourge Strike are Slowed by 40%.
D: Might of Mograine: For every enemy Hero affected by Scourge Strike, Mograine gains 5 Armor and 5% Spell Power.

20:
A: Call of the Highlord: The Four Horsemen move 25% faster and Stun an additional .5 seconds.
B: Necrotic Aura: Necrotic Strike now reduces all Healing nearby enemies receive by 50% for its duration.
C: Gorefiend's Grasp: Death Grip now pulls all nearby enemy Heroes to you, but increase its cooldown by 12 seconds. Does not work with Tightening Grasp.
D: Corrupted Ashbringer: Equip the Corrupted Ashbringer. Basic Attacks reduce the cooldown of your Basic Abilities by 2 seconds.
