Niadra (NEW: Corruptor Evolution!)

Don't Stop Evolving!

Niadra is not your run of the mill Broodmother. She's an extremely customizable and extremely complicated Hero, able to fulfil a number of roles. Her main mechanic is evolving; In the beginning of the game she's a mere Larva, unable to really help the team. However, as time passes she grows stronger and stronger, able to choose between evolutions to build towards certain powers. But you have to be careful, as upon dying Niadra will reset to Larva, and you'll have to start all over again.

Let's go over the basics:
Niadra has a number of available Zerg units to transform into. Each of these units is called an evolutionary stage (ES).
Every ES has a Q and a W ability unique to it's ES.
All ES's share the same E ability; "Evolve". Evolve allows you to either turn into the next ES, or improve your current one permanently. 
To Evolve you need Essence. Niadra does not use Mana, rather she gathers Essence to power her evolutions. Each progressive ES and evolution requires higher amounts of Essence to achieve. Essence is lost upon death.
Niadra does not get talents. Instead, Holding E will open the talents menu with her available evolutions.
At her final evolutionary stages, you may spend essence to unlock that ES's Heroic Ability.

With that covered, let's begin. Prepare for a loooooong read, friends.

Combat Trait

1
Essence and Evolution
Whenever an enemy minion dies, it drops 1 Essence. A Mercenary drops 5, a Boss drops 15, a Building drops 20 and an enemy Hero drops Essence equal to triple it's level. To pick up essence, simply walk over it. If not collected within 10 seconds, Essence will disappear.

Primary Abilities

1
Evolutionary Stage 1: Larva
Larva has a mere 300 health, but has 12 HP Regeneration. Has no basic attack and is 10% faster than regular heroes.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Infest
Hop into a nearby enemy Lane Minion. You take control of it, gaining it's attack and health and allowing you to control it as you will. If it dies while you're in it, you simply hop out and gain it's essence and XP reward. Maybe even a regen globe if it was a Wizard Minion. This will not give your enemy XP.

Harden Carapace
Gain a 75 point shield and a 20% movement speed increase for 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Evolve!
Aggressive Pheromones: Minions controlled by Infest gain 100% increased health and attack. 
Costs 8 Essence.

Exoskeleton: Harden Carapace shield increased to 125, and now scales with level. (+50 per level) 
Costs 10 Essence.

Evolve Drone: Evolve into a Drone, a unit with poor offensive ability, but who excels at collecting essence. Evolves into Zergling.
Costs 15 Essence.

Evolve Zergling: Evolve into a Zergling, a fast offensive unit. Though weak, it's your first real chance to fight. Evolves into Roach and Hydralisk.
Costs 18 Essence.

Evolutionary Stage 2: Drone
The Drone has 650 Health and 8 HP Regeneration. It can use a melee attack that deals 20 damage per second.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Consume
Kill a nearby friendly Lane Minion. Normally allied minions do not drop Essence, but those killed by consume will, in addition to restoring 50 HP to your Hero.
If an enemy Hero is close enough, they will be rewarded XP.

Has no Cooldown.

Collector
All sources provide double their usual Essence. Your basic attacks against Minions deal extra damage equal to 33% of their maximum health.

Evolve!
Efficient Murder: Friendly minions killed by Consume drop 1 additional Essence.
Costs 25 Essence

Consume Corpses: When an enemy minion dies near you, gain 50 HP and 20% increased movement and attack speed for 1.5 seconds.
Costs 30 Essence

Evolve Zergling: Evolve into a Zergling, a fast offensive unit. Though weak, it's your first real chance to fight. Evolves into Roach and Hydralisk.
Costs 20 Essence.

Evolutionary Stage 3: Zergling
The Zergling has 900 Health (+45 per level) and 10 HP Regeneration. It has a melee attack that deals 45 damage (+5 per level) and very high attack speed.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Leap
Leap towards an enemy dealing 80 damage (+20 per level). If this kills the target, gain triple the usual amount of essence.

Cooldown: 6 seconds.

Metabolic Boost
Your hero is 20% faster than most other heroes and has very high attack speed. Activate this ability to increase your movement speed to 30% for 3 seconds. 

Cooldown: 10 Seconds.

Evolve!
Pounce: Increases Leap range and damage by 50%. If leap kills the target, reset it's cooldown.
Costs 15 Essence

Blood Frenzy: Killing an enemy increases your attack damage by 50% for 2 seconds.
Costs 22 Essence

Adrenaline Boost: Activating Metabolic boost also grants 25% increased attack speed for 3 seconds.
Costs 25 Essence.

Evolve Roach: A close range AOE damage creature with a decent health pool. Evolves into Queen and Infestor.
Costs 35 Essence

Evolve Hydralisk: A ranged but squishy evolution with powerful single target damage. Evolves into Mutalisk and Corruptor.
Costs 35 Essence

Evolutionary Stage 4: Roach
The Roach has 1500 Health (+100 per level) and 5 HP Regeneration (+0.3 per level). It has a short but ranged attack that deals 70 damage (+6 per level) to a primary target and any enemies close to it.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Corrosive Bile
Spit a corrosive acid bomb at target location, dealing 110 damage (+6 per level) to enemies in the area, and dealing an additional 60 damage (+4 per level) over 2 seconds.

Enemies that die while being damaged by this drop double essence.

Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Tunneling Claws
Your Hero may move while burrowed (See Special Mount) at 80% your normal movement speed. The cooldown of Burrow is halved.

Evolve!
Rapid Regeneration: While Burrowed you gain 200% increased HP regen.
Costs 30 Essence

Concentrated Acids: Your basic attacks also apply Corrosive Bile's damage over time effect, including the double essence drop.
Costs 35 Essence

Pressurized Glands: Increases the range and radius of Corrosive Bile by 40% and reduces it's cooldown by 0.5 seconds for each enemy that dies under it's damage over time effect.
Costs 28 Essence

Reconstitution: Upon death, you retain 30% of your Essence reserves.
Costs 40 Essence

Evolve Queen: Able to spread creep and spawn broodlings to overwhelm your enemy's defenses. Evolves into Swarm Host.
Costs 45 Essence

Evolve Infestor: A ranged creature with more support-like abilities, designed to help the team. Evolves into Ultralisk.
Costs 45 Essence.

Evolutionary Stage 5: Hydralisk
The Hydralisk has 1000 Health (+60 per level) and 4 HP Regeneration (+0.2 per level). This ES has a standard ranged attack, dealing 90 damage per attack (+7 per level) with 1.5 attacks per second.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Deadly Spine
Shoot out a spine (As a skillshot) that deals 200 damage (+10 per level) to the first target hit, as well as dealing an additional 60 damage (+5 per level) over 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 4 seconds.

Frenzy
Activate to increase your attack damage and attack speed by 25% for 5 seconds.

Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Evolve!
Envenomed Spines: Your basic attacks also deal an additional 60 damage (+5 per level) over 3 seconds. Deadly Spine now slows enemies by 25% for 2 seconds.
Costs 30 Essence

Grooved Spines: Increases the range of Deadly Spine and your basic attacks by 25%. Deadly spine now penetrates through it's first target, allowing it to hit a second one.
Costs 35 Essence

Muscular Augments: Frenzy also increases your movement speed by 25% for the duration
Costs 25 Essence

Reconstitution: Upon death, you retain 30% of your essence reserves.
Costs 40 Essence

Evolve Mutalisk: A fast flying unit with solid wave clear and high mobility. Evolves into Viper.
Costs 45 Essence

Evolve Corruptor: A flying unit with very powerful single target damage and high range. Evolves into Brood Lord.

Evolutionary Stage 6: Queen
The Queen Stage sports 2500 Health (+100 per level), 5 HP Regeneration (+0.3 per level) and a basic attack that hits two targets in addition to it's primary one (Much like Zagara's Medusa Blades Talent) that deals 90 damage (+8 per level) at standard range. 

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Summon Spine Crawler
Summon a Spine Crawler at target location. It has 1000 health (+10 per level) and deals 100 damage per attack (+10 per level). Spine Crawlers will get up and move to follow Niadra if there are no more available targets to attack. The spine crawler spreads creep in a small area around it. Friendly units gain 20% increased movement speed and 30% increased HP Regen. Lasts 25 seconds.

Cooldown: 18 Seconds.

Brood Egg
Throw a small egg at target location. After 1 second, it explodes dealing 150 damage (+8 per level) to nearby enemies and summons three broodlings. Broodlings have 800 Health (+ 10 per level) and deal 110 damage per second (+8 per level). Broodlings last 8 seconds.

Cooldown: 8 seconds. Holds 2 charges.

Evolve!
Piercing Claws: You and all your summons deal 60% more damage to and take 30% less damage from non-heroic targets
Costs 45 Essence

Sweeping reach: You and all your summons attack's cleave, dealing damage in an area.
Costs 45 Essence

De-constructing Acid: Enemies damaged by Brood Egg's initial explosion will drop triple essence if killed within 8 seconds.
Costs 55 Essence

Thorned Carapace: Whenever you or or summons take damage, deal damage equivalent to it's attack damage in a small area around it.
Costs 40 Essence

Cellular Expansion: Brood Egg's explosion damage and radius increased by 30%
Costs 40 Essence

Evolve Swarm Host: A long ranged sieging creature who can overwhelm enemy bases with locust swarms.
Costs 70 Essence

Evolutionary Stage 7: Infestor
The Infestor features 2500 Health (+90 per level) and 5 regeneration (+0.5 per level), and a standard ranged attack that deals 90 damage (+4 per level).

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Fungal Growth
Slow all enemies in an area by 25% for 2 seconds. Every second they stay within that area, the slow is reapplied and will stack with the last one. If the slow reaches 100%, (Which takes 4 seconds) they are rooted for 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 12 seconds.

Neural Parasite
Can target either an allied or enemy hero. 
If used on an ally, grant them 30% increased movement speed, attack speed and health regen for up to 8 seconds, or until they move too far away from you.
If used on an enemy, slow their attack speed by 30% and prevent them from receiving healing for 4 seconds, or until they move too far away from you. All healing they would have received will be granted to them when the effect ends.

Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Evolve!
Clinging Fungus: Increase Fungal Growth's slow to 33%, allowing it to root enemies after only 3 seconds, and the root and slow last 1 second longer.
Costs 45 Essence

Regrowth Pheromones: Allies in Fungal Growth's area are healed for 200 health (+10 per level) every second they stay inside it's area.
Costs 45 Essence

Adrenaline Rush: Allies in fungal Growth's area are granted 30% increased movement and attack speed.
Costs 40 Essence

Adrenal Injection: Increases the movement and attack speed buff granted to allies by neural parasite to 50%, and it now heals for 100 health (+8 per level) every second.
Costs 50 Essence

Infestation: Neural parasite's effect on enemies now lasts as long as they stay close enough to you, and persists for 4 seconds after they break it.
Costs 50 Essence

Evolve Ultralisk: A powerful and tanky beast that smashes through it's foes with immense power.
Costs 70 Essence

Evolutionary Stage 8: Mutalisk
The Mutalisk has 2000 health (+50 per level) and 3 HP Regeneration (+0.2 per level). With a standard ranged attack that deals 100 damage (+5 per level) and a few passives to buff both health and attack. The Mutalisk may not burrow, but instead can activate flight.

Below are listed the Q and W abilities of this ES and the available Evolutions at this stage.

Glaive Barrage
Your basic attacks bounce to 3 other nearby targets, prioritizing heroes, each dealing 60% of the previous attack's damage.

Activate this to strike every enemy in a cone in front of you with a basic attack. Each of these will bounce as usual.

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Tissue Regeneration
When out of combat for 8 seconds, double your health regeneration and increase your movement speed by 25%. 

Activate this to heal your hero for 5% of your maximum health over 1.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 8 seconds.

Evolve!
Wurm Venom: Basic attacks from Glaive Barrage deal 35% more damage, and do not lose damage with each bounce.
Costs 45 Essence

Aerodynamic Glaives: Increases your basic attack and Glaive Barrage range by 30%
Costs 40 Essence

Shred Flesh: Your basic attacks bounce 1 more time and each now deals 80% of the previous bounce's damage. Each bounce also heals you for 5% of the damage done.
Costs 50 Essence

Swift Wings: Tissue Regeneration now only require you be out of combat for 6 seconds. The movement speed bonus is increased to 45%
Costs 40 Essence

Reconstruction: Tissue Regeneration's HP regen buff increased to triple, and activating it now heals you for 10% of your max health.
Costs 45 Essence

Evolve Viper: A utility support flyer who can greatly disrupt and displace the enemy team.
Costs 70 Essence

Evolutionary Stage 9: Corruptor
The Corruptor has 2000 Health (+60 per level) and 3 HP Regeneration (+0.3 per level). It's attack range is slightly higher than most ranged characters (5.7) and deals 200 damage (+10 per level). The Corruptor may not use burrow, but rather may activate a modified flight, which grants collision immunity but does NOT increase speed.

Acidic Blast
Fire a long range straight-line skillshot that deals 150 damage (+5 per level) to the first target hit, and an additional 40 damage (+4 per level) over 2 seconds. Deals 100% increased damage to heroic targets.

Cooldown: 12 seconds

Corruption
Shoot a long range straight-line skillshot that slows the first target hit by 25% and causes them to take 25% more damage from you for 2 seconds.

Corrosive Blast: Acidic Blast's damage over time effect deals 25% more damage and lasts 1 second longer.

Acid Glands: Acidic Blast's cooldown reduced by 2 seconds

Firing Velocity: Acidic Blast, Corruption, and your basic attack's range increased by 50%
Costs 50 Essence

Infestation: Corruption's slow increased to 35% and it's effect lasts 1.5 seconds longer. 
Costs 40 Essence

Poisonous: All abilities used against a target affected by Corruption have their cooldowns reduced by 1.5 seconds. Targets affected by Corruption drop double essence.
Costs 50 Essence

Adaptable Acid: Every consecutive basic attack against the same target deals 10% more damage, stacking to a maximum of 60%. All stacks are lost if you do not attack the same target within 3 seconds.
Costs 55 Essence

Evolve Broodlord: A very long ranged and very high damage flyer

Special Mount

Burrow
Instantly Become Invisible and Immobile (With exceptions). You may not attack, use abilities or Hearthstone until you unburrow. While enemies may no longer collide with you, any AOE that hits you will force you to unburrow.

Cooldown: 20 Seconds.

Flight
Certain ES's use this instead of burrow. 

Ignore all forms of collision and increase your movement speed by 25% for 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 25 seconds

Notes

While this character is way too weird to ever be implemented, It was just fun to create. I'll finish the rest of the ES's when I have time. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks for reading!

I'm sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you could pick a certain upgrade with an Evolution and you would be permenantly in that Evolution. Makes a bit more sense. I'm not against the idea of a Hero like this because as I said I attempted one and could not figure out a good way to do it.

What do you mean no benefit? Getting evolutions for each tier is permanent, meaning that if you die you'll still be able to use the upgrades while you work your way up to max tier ES.

I'm sorry, but I have pondered an Idea like this and their just is no good way to make it work without making an RPG Class out of it, just saying. Honestly, this Hero would be insane (This coming from a Guy who likes Difficult to play Heroes) mostly due to the Micro and having to decide upon your Evolution Tree based solely on the opposing team. Also, if you gain no good/strong benefit from Metamorphisising a single Evolution why would you even do it?
