Niadra is not your run of the mill Broodmother. She's an extremely customizable and extremely complicated Hero, able to fulfil a number of roles. Her main mechanic is evolving; In the beginning of the game she's a mere Larva, unable to really help the team. However, as time passes she grows stronger and stronger, able to choose between evolutions to build towards certain powers. But you have to be careful, as upon dying Niadra will reset to Larva, and you'll have to start all over again.
Let's go over the basics:
Niadra has a number of available Zerg units to transform into. Each of these units is called an evolutionary stage (ES).
Every ES has a Q and a W ability unique to it's ES.
All ES's share the same E ability; "Evolve". Evolve allows you to either turn into the next ES, or improve your current one permanently.Â
To Evolve you need Essence. Niadra does not use Mana, rather she gathers Essence to power her evolutions. Each progressive ES and evolution requires higher amounts of Essence to achieve. Essence is lost upon death.
Niadra does not get talents. Instead, Holding E will open the talents menu with her available evolutions.
At her final evolutionary stages, you may spend essence to unlock that ES's Heroic Ability.

What do you mean no benefit? Getting evolutions for each tier is permanent, meaning that if you die you'll still be able to use the upgrades while you work your way up to max tier ES.
I'm sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you could pick a certain upgrade with an Evolution and you would be permenantly in that Evolution. Makes a bit more sense. I'm not against the idea of a Hero like this because as I said I attempted one and could not figure out a good way to do it.
Pretty cool idea. Just a note: it looks like the hydra evolution "muscular augments" doesn't actually enhance "frenzy" because the basic ability already boosts movement speed.

I'm sorry, but I have pondered an Idea like this and their just is no good way to make it work without making an RPG Class out of it, just saying. Honestly, this Hero would be insane (This coming from a Guy who likes Difficult to play Heroes) mostly due to the Micro and having to decide upon your Evolution Tree based solely on the opposing team. Also, if you gain no good/strong benefit from Metamorphisising a single Evolution why would you even do it?
I know it's too crazy to ever happen, I just did this for fun.
