Nova Rework

Dominion Ghost

My plan with this rework concept is to bring her up to be a more potent assassin and be able to do her job of roaming and killing people feeling better because of Precision Strike feeling rewarding to hit, while also increasing her overall effectiveness.

This rework also opens up more counter play against her as she is more vulnerable and has a harder time to escape, which should make her less frustrating to play against as well.

Permanent Cloak has no baseline movement speed, making her a much more vulnerable target.

Ghost Protocol no longer summons a Decoy and without the instant bonus movment speed, Ghost Protocol is therefor less useful in saving Nova and forces her to position more carefully.

Snipe has a changed damage bonus system that no longer makes it efficient for Nova to farm Q stacks on tanks and then go back ot the squishies, but rather to wait for the stacks to recharge.

Pinning Shot has been removed and is replaced by a reworked version of Precision Strike, making her Snipe setup dodgable.

Holo Decoy is gone and is now replaced by Elite, an ability that rewards the player for hitting their abilities with additional damage.

Triple Tap is no longer a lock on ability and instead functions similarly to Ana's Eye of Horus.

Precision Strike has replaced Pinning Shot, leaving room for another heroic ability, which came to be Flashbang Grenade. A CC ability which can be used to start a gank, allow for repositioning, escape or setup enemies in teamfights.

Yellow means something is new or changed.

Combat Trait

1
(Trait) Permanent Cloak
Gain Stealth when out of combat for 3 seconds. Taking damage, attacking, using Abilities, or Channeling ends Stealth. Remaining stationary for at least 1.5 seconds grants Invisible.

No baseline movement speed bonus while stealthed.

(D) Ghost Protocol
Cooldown: 60 seconds

Activate to instantly grant Stealth to Nova. Nova is Unrevealable for the first 0.5 second, when Stealthed by Ghost Protocol.

Primary Abilities

(Q) Snipe
Cost: 50 Mana
Cooldown: 6 Seconds


Deals 265 damage to the first enemy hit.

Passive: Every 1 second that Snipe is off cooldown, increase the damage of your next snipe by 5%, stacking up to 25%. Gain an additional 25% damage bonus at maximum stacks. All stacks are lost upon casting Snipe.

(W) Precision Strike
(Moved from Heroic Abilities)

Cost: 60 Mana
Cooldown: 12 Seconds
Range: 9
Radius: 2


After a 0.75 second delay, deals 100 damage to enemies within an area and slows them by 50%, decaying over 2 seconds.

(E) Elite
(New Ability Idea)

Cost: 40 Mana
Cooldown: 14 Seconds
Range: 8.5


Nova marks an enemy Hero as an elite priority target for 3 seconds. Her next damaging ability against them deals an additional 150 damage and removes the Elite effect.

Takedowns refresh the cooldown of Elite.

Using this Ability does not break Stealth.

Secondary Abilities

Triple Tap - Launch Round
Cooldown: 0.5 seconds

Launch a big missile in the targeted direction, dealing 400 damage to the first enemy Hero or Structure it comes in contact with.

Heroic Abilities

Triple Tap
(Now functions similarly to Ana's Eye of Horus and the missiles are skillshots instead of lock on.)

Cost: 100 Mana
Cooldown: 75 Seconds


Assume a sniping position, readying 3 giant rounds that you can shoot. Rounds hit the first enemy Hero or Structure they come in contact with, dealing 400 damage each.

Cast time: 0.125 (start) / 0.0625 (Exit)
Range: 35
Hitbox: 0.75 x 1.75
Missile speed: 40 -> 25, decaying over 1 second.

Flashbang Grenade
(New Ability Idea)

Cost: 100 Mana
Cooldown: 60 Seconds
Range: 13
Radius: 0.25 (Grenade) / 5 (Explosion)
Missile Speed: 16


Lob a grenade at the target location that explodes in a larger area 1 second after landing. Enemies that are hit take 110 damage and are incapacitated for up to 3 seconds.

Flashbang Grenade's effects end instantly if the target takes damage after the first 0.5 seconds.

Incapacitate works similarly to a sleep effect where it breaks if the target takes damage.

Talents

Talent Tier 1 (Level 1)


Neutralized 'New Talent'
Successfully triggering the Elite mark stuns the enemy for 0.5 seconds.
Covert Ops 'New Talent'
Every second while stealthed reduces the cost of Precision Strike by 10 and increases the slow by 5%. Can stack up to 5 times. Bonus is lost after losing Stealth for 1 second.
Advanced Cloaking
Gain 5% Movement Speed. After being Stealthed for 2 seconds, this bonus is quadrupled.

Talent Tier 2 (Level 4)


Transportation Beacon (New Ability Idea)
Cooldown: 30 Seconds / Range: 5 / Radius: 0.625

Active: Warp in a transportation beacon at the target location after 0.125 seconds with 500(+4% per level) Health.
Transportation beacons are affected by Permanent Cloaking and Nova can have up to 2 active at a time.

If there are 2 beacons on the map and Nova walks into one of the beacons, she is teleported to the other beacon after a 0.5 second delay.
Nova has to be stealthed in order to teleport.

Teleporting through a beacon causes it to lose stealth for a short period of time.
Holo Decoy (Reworked Ability)
Cooldown: 30 Seconds / Range: 10 (Vector Targeting)

Active: Create a Decoy for 5 seconds with 100% of Nova's current Health that runs in the target direction. Whenever a Decoy takes damage it deals that amount to itself, effectively doubling the damage it takes. The Decoy does not attack.

Using this Ability does not break Stealth. If cast while Stealthed, the Decoy will also be Stealthed when created.
Covert Mission
Active: Enemy minions killed near Nova grant a stack of Bribe.
Hitting an enemy Hero with Snipe grant a stack of Bribe. Hero Takedowns grant 10 stacks of Bribe.
Use 25 stacks to bribe a Mercenary, instantly defeating them. Does not work on Elite Mercenaries. Maximum of 100 stacks.
If a camp is defeated entirely with Bribe, the camp respawns 50% faster.

Talent Tier 3 (Level 7)


Perfect Shot
Hitting an enemy Hero with Snipe reduces the cooldown by 4 seconds and refunds its Mana cost.
One in the Chamber
After using an Ability, Nova's next Basic Attack within 3 seconds deals 60% additional damage.
Anti-Armor Shells
Nova's Basic Attacks deal 250% damage and decrease the Physical Armor of Heroic targets by 15 for 3 seconds, but her Attack Speed is proportionally slower.

Talent Tier 4 (Level 10)


Triple Tap
Read Heroic Abilities.
Flashbang Grenade
Read Heroic Abilities.

Talent Tier 5 (Level 13)


Psionic Efficency
Snipe's Range is increased by 15% and hitting a Hero retains the damage bonus of Precision Sniper.
Precision Barrage 'New Talent'
Precision Strike now has 2 charges and it's range is increased by 400%.
Charge Cooldown: 1 Second (Range = 45)
Psionic Efficency
Gain 25 Armor for 3 seconds after losing Stealth or activating Ghost Protocol.

Talent Tier 6 (Level 16)


Explosive Round
Snipe also deals 75% damage to enemies near the impact.

Nuclear Strike 'New Talent'
Precision Strike deals 100% increased damage and it's radius is increased by 50%. (Radius = 3)

Unfinished Business 'New Talent'
Successfully triggering the Elite mark refunds the mana cost of Elite and sets its cooldown to 2 seconds.
Priority Target 'New Talent'
Elite reduces the armor of the target by 10 for 3 seconds. Successfully triggering the Elite mark refreshes Priority Target's duration and increases the armor reduction by 15.

Talent Tier 7 (Level 20)


Fast Reload
Triple Tap's cooldown is reset, if it kills an enemy Hero.
Dynamic Shock 'New Talent'
Enemies are blinded for 2 seconds after the incapacitate effect ends. Each enemy Hero hit by Flashbang Grenade reduces its cooldown by 8 second.
Apollo Suit
Reduce the cooldown of Permanent Cloak by 2 seconds and the cooldown of Ghost Protocol by 15 seconds.
Rewind
Cooldown: 60 Seconds
Active: Activate to reset the cooldowns of your Basic Abilities.

Good ideas...but broken slow from W , 3 seconds of CC from gRenade and absurd burst from tRiple shot, cause you can just oneshot anything from anywhere.
"Neutralized" is just too good compared to others.
"Beacon"...no comments...
2 charges of Strike with unlimited range at lvl 13...
13.5 radius of Strike...wow...

My Ideas
I didn't change Neautralize as I find the other talents to be similiar in power, but in different situations or builds.

I don't really see how a 50% slow that decays down to 0 over 2 seconds is broken, or even a 75% slow. It's just a quick burst of movement speed loss to help hitting abilities and setting up combos.

Transportation Beacon is supposed to be a rotation ability or a bodyblocking unit. Not really amazing but I thought it could fit in alongside another gimmicky ability (Holo Decoy).

The 3 Seconds of CC from Flashbang Grenade is interrupted by damage, meaning it functions similarly to Ana's Sleep Dart effect.

Triple Shot damage went up from 372 to 400, which is a total increase of 84 damage. I thought this was a decent change considering that the shots now require aiming and can be dodged and not only blocked. I did however change it's range from unlimited to 35.

2 charges of Precision Strike remains, but I lowered the range from unlimited to a 400% increase. It is however staying on the same talent tier.

I increased the cooldown reduction of each bolt hit from 25 to 40, meaning that you only need to hit 2 bolts on enemy Heroes to refresh it's cooldown.

Also if you'd like me to understand where your ideas come from, you could give a little more detail on what you think of the abilities and changes instead of saying stuff like "...no comments..." or "really bad" Thank you :)

So, why not "Enemies that are hit take 110 damage and are put to Sleep for up to 3 seconds." or something close to that?

Because its Nova. She used to Snipe solo targets, not to have an AOE slow that can just make her annoying af to play against, especially in teamfights.

Sry for "...no comments...". I meant, that giving nova such a mobility is kinda bad idea. And i also dont remember that Terran Ghosts had these.

Fast Reload is really bad, because missing one of the shots just ruins it. Current one gives you more value imo.
