N'Zoth

The Corruptor

N'Zoth is one of the Old Gods and considered the weakest of them. However, his corruption was such that he was the only one who could still win the victory and corrupt Azeroth. He has been scheming in the shadows of his prison for a very long time and is the source of many events that have shaken the world of Azeroth: corruption and the birth of Deathwing, the creation of Nagas ..... He was finally freed by Azshara and went to the sleeping city of Ny'alotha to try to corrupt the heroes of Azeroth in order to make his visions reality. He ultimately failed in his quest for the rebirth of the Black Empire and was destroyed by the Azeroth re-origin protocol, also resulting in the destruction of Ny'alotha. But you don't get rid of a old God so easily. N'zoth's dream is actually much bigger: to corrupt various worlds to make their empire! And the Nexus will not be spared from its dark designs!

Combat Trait

1
Visions of N'Zoth
N'Zoth is not physically present on the battlefield. It is in its reality and in it, it replaces the idol and cannot be seen directly by allied players and opposing players whose corruption is maximum. To fight, N'zoth sends his avatar "Psychus" to fight against the opposing team.
Until the quest "Awakening of Ny'alotha" is completed, N'Zoth can only hit opposing players with maximum corruption. Once the quest "Awakening of Ny'alotha" N'Zoth appears physically, can directly attack the opposing heroes and directly replaces the idol taking these hit points!
2
Mental corruption
Basic attacks and certain Psychus skills increase corruption and decrease the mental health of the affected heroes. This corruption can be cumulated 3 times and has 3 levels:
- 1st level: At the end of a corruption stack, the affected hero suffers a certain number of damages
- 2nd level: After 2 stacks of corruption, the hero becomes insensitive to healing for 2 seconds.
- 3rd level: After 3 stacks of corruption, the hero sinks into madness, dives into the visions of N'Zoth and becomes sensitive to N'Zoth's skills

If the opposing hero is not affected by an attack or skill applying "Mental Corruption" for 5 seconds; then he loses these stacks of corruption.

If the quest "Awakening of Ny'alotha" is accomplished, N'Zoth's skills result in "Mental Corruption". In addition, the 3rd level of corruption will now cause reduced vision for 3 seconds.

Explanation of N'Zoth concept

I- General and choices regarding skills
You will understand that N'Zoth is a 2 in 1 character. The number of skills is quite high but not impossible to achieve in my opinion. Note that when Psychus is alive, N'Zoth's skills will be positioned on the secondary abilities bar, making skills management much easier. When Psychus dies, he assigns the same number of experience points as the other heroes. The real goal through Psychus is to allow N'Zoth to have an increasingly important impact on the battle (a reference to the shenanigans demonstrated by N'Zoth in WoW) and increasingly threaten. The mechanics of the character are based on "Mental Corruption" giving effects as you use skills or self-attacks of Psychus. Another important point is the starting quest "Awakening of Ny'alotha" which must be carried out as quickly as possible to be at the maximum potential of N'Zoth. Admittedly this concept seems complicated but it is a little the objective to allow the players to progress and to improve.

1- The skills of Psychus
- Black Scar and Insanity Bomb are two skills in addition to Psychus' self-attacks allowing corruption stacks. Black scar is monocible and in contact while Insanity bomb is remote and multi-target. Why ? To help Psychus who is slower and to facilitate corruption stacks
- Adaptive membrane is more a means of tanking but especially of escape. Due to its slower movement speed, this skill is the only way to escape death. This skill can also catch up with an opposing hero in order to complete it.
- The eternal darkness allows a rapid increase in corruption to benefit from the effects of it but also allow combos with N'Zoth's skills.

2- N'Zoth's skills
- Embrace the Spirit is a control effect allowing either to isolate or allow your team to complete the target. (This skill is also useful for Psychus who has no control effect!)
- N'Zoth's tentacles are its main means of DPS during a teamfight. They are also very useful for spotting possible opponents, either hiding or making a boss for example. They must be used with care!
- Veil of anxiety is N'Zoth's multi-target skill allowing to keep corruption to the maximum if Psychus is handicapped by the opposing team.
- Stunning gaze is a skill inflicting moderate damage but allowing fear of several opposing heroes. The ray crosses the whole map a bit like Fenix's heroic ability
- Evocation of anxiety is an improved skill "Veil of anxiety" with more damage and a formidable control effect. However, you have to know how to use it at the right time.

3- Secondary skills
- Convergence is a very advantageous skill allowing to help the whole team but which should not be wasted because its recharge time is as great as its usefulness!
-Power transcendent and Gift of the briber are two skills to help your allies in different situations but still you have to choose the right skill and especially know when to use it because their effects have a price!

II- The quest "Awakening of Ny'alotha"
Objective: apply level 3 of "Mental corruption" 20 times.
Reward: N'Zoth physically appears on the battlefield replacing the idol! Now all of these skills can directly hit opposing heroes and apply "Mental Corruption".

III- Talents

Level 1 :

- Ambitious tentacles: Increases the number of tentacles to 6.
- Quest "Watch out for the scar!": Apply 40 black scar. Each time Psychus hits an opposing hero, the scar deals 0.5% more damage.
- The faithful of N'Zoth: Adaptive membrane gives nearby heroes a shield corresponding to 5% of the maximum health of the heroes.

Level 4:

- There will be something for everyone: The enemy minions can receive corruption (only level 1).
- You belong to me! : Embrace the Spirit lasts an additional 3 seconds but also sees its cooldown increase by 3 seconds.
- Fenders of flesh: The adaptive membrane explodes after 5 seconds if the shield is not destroyed and inflicts damage according to the percentage remaining of the shield.

Level 7:

- Quest "It's a bomb": Transmit the Bomb of Insanity 20 times. Reward: the Insanity Bomb can be transmitted twice.
- Fear me mortals! : The veil of anxiety also permeates Psychus which after a second is returned around it inflicting the same damage and the same effects.
- The emptiness observes you: Increases the visibility zone conferred by the tentacles.

Level 10:

- Stunning look
- Evocation of anxiety

Level 13:

- The Black Empire is reborn: Strengthens all forts and bastions by giving them a shield of 15 armor.
- Distortion of reality: Psychus' self-attacks reduce the speed of self-attack by 5%.

Level 16:

- You will sink into the void: Eternal darkness increases the movement speed by 10% of Psychus.
- N'Zoth sees everything: The astonishing gaze projects 3 rays
- Fear invades you: The zones created by Evocation of anxiety remain until the end of the fight

Level 20:

- Convergence
- Transcendent power
- Gift of the briber
