Will of the Swarm

The Overmind as a core replacing hero is an idea that has been floating around in the community for ages. Heres my take on it.


I dont really care HOW they do it, i just hope they give us the Overmind cuz it would be ****ing awesome.

Combat Trait

Overmind
The Overmind embeds itself into the core and boosts a lane. It only dies when the core dies.

You can only boost one lane at a time, in this lane, every minion wave will be reinforced by 3 Zerglings.
Zerglings have 610 HP and 31 DPS. They act like lane minions, but can soak 50% XP while not granting the enemy XP themselves when they die. You can order them to attack a specific target using the D key, but they will not leave the lane to chase it down.
Your minions scale with your hero level.

Your Q,W,E minions can soak 100% XP.

Primary Abilities

Zergling Pack
Selects your Zerglings.

You start with 6 of them, which act as one entitity. They have no collision, can attack targets at melee range, have 610 HP and 31 DPS. If one dies, it will respawn near its brethren 8 seconds later. Can only respawn one at a time.
Zerglings scale with your hero level.

Lurker
You have a Lurker that can move and burrow/unburrow, but not attack unless burrowed. When burrowed, Lurkers can attack with a range of 8 (thats 1 less then Hammer). Their attacks deal 120 damage per second in a line and move a little faster then Anubs Q, but can be dodged by quick reactions.

Burrowed lurkers are untargetable and will not be revealed by their own attacks, only by damage taken and revealing spells. Lurker kills grant the enemy team 25% of a hero kills XP!

There can only be one Lurker at a time, and it scales with your hero level.
If your Lurker dies, there is a 20 second cooldown before you can spawn a new one.

Overlord
You start with one Overlord, that has 500 HP, flies and can therefore move over impassable terrain and walls. It cannot attack, but it has 150% of a heroes vision range.
You can have only one Overlord at a time. If it dies, it will respawn at the core 20 seconds later.

You can now boost all lanes at once.

Megalisk
Cooldown: 100

Spawns an enormous Megalisk (sclaed up SC1 Ultralisk) that is about as big but taller then Azmodan, has 3000 HP (at Lvl 10) and deals 200 DPS in a small cone in front of itself. Lasts for 24 seconds.

Talents

Tier 1

- Metabolic Boost: Increases Zergling movement speed by 25%.
- Overseer: Evolves your Overlord to an Overseer that detects stealth units in a large area around itself.
- Lurking Death: Lurkers do 100% bonus damage against non-heroic targets.

Tier 2

- Duck and Disperse: Reduces AoE damage against your Zergling pack by 40%.
- Watchful: Increases the number of Overlords to 2 and increases their movement speed by 25%.
- Deep Ambush: Lurker spots cant be seen anymore and Lurkers are no longer being revealed by damage.

Tier 3

- Relentless Predators: Reduces the duration of slows and roots against your Zergling pack by 50%.
- Swift Spines: Increases the movement speed of lurker attacks by 30%.
- Psionic Synapse: Your lane Zerglings have +50% HP and can now soak the full amount of XP.

Tier 5

- Raptor Strain: Zergling Pack Zerglings can now perform a leap attack every 5 seconds that deals 100% bonus damage.
- Swarmling Strain: Increases the number of Zerglings in the pack to 9.
- Assimilation: Infests all allied minions that spawn in your boosted lane, increasing their health and damage by 15%.

Tier 6

- Hydralisk: Spawns one Hydralisk with each wave (in your boosted lane(s) that has 800 HP and deals 100 DPS.
- Longer Spines: Increases Lurker range by 20%.
- Accelerated Growth: Zergling respawn time reduced by 4 seconds.

Tier 7

- Servant of the Overmind: Increases the Megalisks health, damage and duration by 25%.
- Zerg Rush: Reduces the time between minion wave spawns by 5 seconds at adds 3 more Zerglings per wave.
- Adrenal Glands: Increases Zergling Pack attack Speed by 40%.
- Field of Death: Increases the number of Lurkers to 2 and increases their damage and health by 20%.
