Qi'tar

The Deathcaller

Current version: 1.0

Qi'tar is a mage who is both empowered and weakened by the overwhelming corruption of the Sha as he spreads fear among his enemies. He is focused around rapid tick damage and several crowd control effects, both of which increase his Sha Corruption which grants him Ability Power while reducing his Armor. He also has the option to consume Sha Corruption for empowered ability effects. Qi’tar must carefully consider the risks and benefits of hoarding Sha Corruption, and when he needs to spend it to save himself or go for the kill. Failure to generate and maintain corruption leaves Qi’tar weak and ineffective, but hoarding corruption makes him an easy target for enemies. This theme continues into his talents, with many having downsides that Qi’tar must consider and play around.

Cosmetic Note:

Qi'tar's magic is normally a vibrant purple representing Shadow magic, but as his Sha Corruption builds up, a swirling gradient changes to the monochrome that represents the Sha, completely replacing the original color while at 100 Sha Corruption. In the picture, the monochrome of Sha can be seen directly under Qi'tar, while the purple of Shadow can be seen on the ground around him.

Pros:
High potential for both burst and sustain damage
    Powerful crowd control options
Cons:
    Fragile and easy to kill
    Lacks mobility or escape tools
Must fight from a medium range
Statistics:
Health: 1,699 (+4% per level)
Regen: 3.54 (+4% per level)
Mana: 500 (+10 per level)
Regen: 3.00 (+0.098 per level)
Atk Speed: 1.12 per second
Atk Range: 5.5 (standard ranged hero)
Damage: 72 (+4% per level)

Combat Trait

1
Sha Corruption
Passive:
Qi’tar is under the influence of the Sha of Fear. Every instance of ability damage he deals generates 1 Sha Corruption, every 0.25 seconds of Slow he applies generates 1 Sha Corruption, and every 0.25 seconds of Stun or Fear he applies generates 2 Sha Corruption. Qi’tar can have a maximum of 100 Sha Corruption at a time, and when possible, casting a basic ability consumes 40 Sha Corruption to become empowered.

Qi’tar can toggle his trait to prevent himself from consuming Sha Corruption to empower abilities. Qi’tar receives 1% increased Ability Power for every 2 Sha Corruption he has, but also has his Armor reduced by 1 for every 10 Sha Corruption he has.

Primary Abilities

1
Shadow Nova
Cooldown: 5 seconds
Cost: 30 Mana

Qi’tar calls shadows to a target location which begin to repeatedly erupt, dealing 46 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies in a medium area after a 0.25 second delay and again 2 more times with 0.5 seconds between eruptions.

When empowered by Sha Corruption, Shadow Nova applies crowd control to enemies it hits multiple times. Every two hits Slows the movement speed of enemies by 25% for 1 second; every three hits Stuns enemies for 0.5 seconds.
2
Glimpse of Terror
Cooldown: 11 seconds
Cost: 50 Mana

Qi’tar launches a wave of shadows in a target direction, inflicting horrific visions on any enemies hit. Affected heroes take 88 (+4% per level) damage and are Feared for 0.75 seconds, running in the same direction that Glimpse of Terror was targeted in; non-heroes take the same damage but are Stunned for 1.25 seconds instead.

When empowered by Sha Corruption, enemies hit by Glimpse of Terror are plagued by visions of death for 2.5 seconds, causing them to take an additional 28 (+4% per level) damage every time they take ability damage. Can only deal damage twice every 0.5 seconds.
3
Call of Death
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Cost: 50 Mana

Qi’tar launches a tendril of shadow magic in a target direction. If it hits an enemy hero, he begins to channel for up to 2.5 seconds, assaulting them with visions of their own death. The target takes 16 (+4% per level) damage every 0.5 seconds and has their movement speed Slowed by 20%, increasing by 8 (+4% per level) damage and 5% Slow for every 0.5 seconds channeled. If Qi’tar is interrupted, chooses to stop channeling, or the target moves more than 7.5 units away from him, Call of Death’s effects end early.

When empowered by Sha Corruption, Qi’tar instead summons a Sha Manifestation to complete the channel for him. The Sha Manifestation has 500 (+4% per level) Health and is immune to all crowd control, but immediately dies when it finishes channeling or when its target leaves channeling range.

Heroic Abilities

1
Fearful Visage
Cooldown: 65 seconds
Cost: 60 Mana

Qi’tar winds up for 0.75 seconds, then unleashes a terrifying blast of energy from his Sha mask in a long target cone over 0.75 seconds, dealing 45 (+4% per level) damage every 0.25 seconds. Additionally, any enemies facing Qi’tar while taking damage also have a mask placed on them, causing them to continually deal 18 (+4% per level) damage every 0.5 seconds to enemies in a medium cone in front of them for 2.5 seconds. Any enemies damaged by any component of Fearful Visage have their movement speed Slowed by 15% for 0.5 seconds.

Damage dealt and Slows applied by secondary masks of Fearful Visage do not generate Sha Corruption, but Qi’tar generates 6 Sha Corruption for every mask applied.
2
Sha Geysers
Cooldown: 80 seconds
Cost: 90 Mana

Qi’tar marks 3 large non-overlapping areas on the ground, infesting them with Sha energy for up to 10 seconds. Enemies moving through these areas have their movement speed Slowed by 15%. Every time Qi’tar generates 30 Sha Corruption, one of the marked areas erupts in a pillar of Sha that removes the infestation from the area, dealing 304 (+4% per level) damage to enemies within and Fearing them away from the center for 1.25 seconds. The areas erupt in the order that they were marked.
