Rakanoth

Lord of despair

Rakanoth is a melee assassin who instill the defeat to his enemies. Teleport, root, buff and burst, he's also hard to kill with his combat trait in duel.

In Diablo 3 beginning, Rakanoth was a hard boss, with huge damage in melee. So i think many build, one about Basic attack, one for gank (Devastation's up) and one for teamfight (Cleave's and Hopeless's up).

First heroic abilities, Soul Blade, is thought for team combo, while a Mosh Pit, an Arthas' root or a Graviton Surge. The concept is deal huge damage against weakened enemies who can't dodge the damage area.
Second heroic abilities, Plain of Despair, is thought for help to engage a teamfight and to be stronger with support help. This ability no depend team combo and is perfect in solo.

Combat Trait

When Rakanoth takes damage, instead damage is absorbed and dealed over 3 seconds. Hero takedown removes absorbed damage to be dealed.

Execute a 180° cleave dealing 90 damage and 90 damage over 3 seconds. Every additional application increase the duration by 3 seconds.

Cooldown : 9 seconds

Cast : 0.5

Teleport Rakanoth to a nearby location, nearby enemies to point of arrival are dealing 210 damage and slowing by 60% fading over 2 seconds.

Cost : 60 mana
Cooldown : 12 seconds
Range : 2.5

Root all nearby enemies and himself for 1.75 seconds. Heal Rakanoth by 120 for each hitten hero enemies.

After 0.5 cast time, channel 3 bombardments in a medium area dealing enemies 540 damage over 1.5 seconds.

Cost : 60 mana
Cooldown : 60 seconds
Range : 4

Create a very large area of despair. Enemies heroes in the area are slowed by 20% and their attack speed are reduced by 20%. Rakanoth gains 20% move speed and attack speed by each enemies heroes in the area. Last 10 seconds.

Rakanoth could be very cute ridding an unicorn, so for this reason, no special mount for Rakanoth.

Level 1



[D] Odor of blood :
Razor blades reveals enemies for the duration of damage.

End of the hope :
Quest : Every hero takedown from your team grants 2 Attack Damage and nearby hero takedown grants 2 additionnal Attack damage.
Reward : Upon gaining 40 bonus Attack Damage, you can also activate End of hope to increase his Attack Speed by 40% for 3 seconds. 60 seconds cooldown.

[W] Torment :
Reduces the mana cost of Devatation by 50% and the cooldown by 3 seconds.


Level 4


[Q] Unchained assault :
Quest : Hit 30 heroes with Razor blades without dying.
Reward : Store a third charge and reduce Razor blades's cooldown by 1 seconds.

[Q] Siphoning razors :
As long as Razor blades deal damage to hero enemy, heal Rakanoth by 30 health a seconds for each bled enemy.

[Q] Sharpened bladse :
Increase the duration of bleeding by 0.5 for each hitten enemies up to maximum of 2 seconds.

Focused attack :
Every 10 seconds, his next Basic Attack against a hero deal 60% additional damage. Basic attacks reduce this cooldown by 1 seconds.


Level 7



[W] Steel skin :
Devastation grants 25 armor, reducing damage taken by 25% for 3 seconds.

[D] Feed of pain :
Demon skin deal 25% less damage from basic attack.

[D] Feed of despair :
Demon skin deal 25% less damage from abilities.

[D] Soul devourer :
Hero takedown heal Rakanoth for 25% maximum health over 2 seconds.


Level 13


Giant killer :
Basic Attack against enemy heroes deal bonus damage equal 1.5% of the Hero's maximum health.

[W] Rampage :
Increases Devastation's range by 20%, if the enemy dies within 1.5 seconds, Devastation's cooldown is instantly reset.

[E] No exit :
Increases Hopeless's range by 20% and roots targets for 0.5 seconds longer.


Level 16


Painful wounds :
Rakanoth's Basic Attack adds 1 second for the bleeding from Razor blades.

[Q] Powerful cleave :
Increase Razor blades' range by 1. Hero takedown grants 1 charge.

Blood for blood :
Activate for deal 10% of target enemy Hero's Max Health and heal for twice that amount.


Level 20


[R1] Despair spawn :
Each bombardment summons a Soul Devourer that deal 50 damage and pull him to this target. Last for 15 seconds.

[R2] Eternal despair :
Reduce Eternal despair's cooldown by 15 seconds for each hero takedwon in the area.

Nexus blades :
Basic Attack deals 20% more damage and slow enemy Movement speed by 20% for 1 seconds.

[D] Blade skin :
Activate to deal to nearby enemies same current amount to absorbed damage. 30 seconds cooldown.

a cool concept, but his trait seems a little imba. Maybe 50% is a bit too much.
