Reinhardt V.2 (Complete Concept)

The Last Crusader

"Justice will be done."


Bio:


Reinhardt Wilhelm is a man who from young age; sought glory. He would join the German Armed Forces as soon as he possibly could and rapidly earned the rank of Lieutenant among the Crusaders. Over the years that would follow; Reinhard fought unlike any other Crusader and made sure to carry out his duty as a Crusader with utmost pride - A duty that he strongly held onto as to never forget his old mentor Balderich von Adler who died during one of Reinhardt's earlier missions to defend Eichenwalde against an Omnic invasion.

As he keep fighting against the Omnic's - Reinhardt would over the years not only join Overwatch but also meet and befriend Torbjörn who ended up becoming a personal caretaker for Reinhardt's armor and weaponry - Always making sure that he was 110% prepared for anything that they could end up in battle with. This close bond led to Reinhardt becoming the godfather of Torbjörn's daughter; Brigitte - Who as she grew up; not only tok into armory and weapon upkeep thanks to her father; But she also formed a strong tie to Reinhardt which only grew over the years as she eventually tok over her fathers job and became Reinhardt's squire; accompanying him on his travels around the world and maintaining his armor as her father had done before.

The Omnic Crisis was eventually put to an end, years upon years of battle was over but Reinhardt's blood was still boiling, there was more glory to be had - And more glory he would find as he was summoned to the Nexus. Despite the lack of his squire - Reinhardt stepped into the Nexus with a smile on his face; Knowing that the world he left as for now; should be safe. Knowing that his friends and family would do just fine after his leave; Reinhardt would pick up arms and fight like never before on this newfound field of battle.

Role description:


Reinhardt takes up the role as an extremely sturdy frontline Tank - Utilizing his Barrier field and Rocket powered mace to defend his allies and throw his enemies aside as he charges forward into victory.

Baste stats:


- Base Health: 2461 (+4 % per level)
- Health regen: 5.04 (+4 % per level)


- Mana: 500 (+ 4% per level)
- Mana regen: 3.68 (+ 4% per level)


- Movement speed: 100%

Basic attack:


Reinhardt attacks by swinging his Rocket Powered mace around.

- Base damage 139 (+4 % per level)
- Attack speed 0.8
- Attack range 2.5

Combat Trait

D - Rocket Hammer
Passive: Reinhardt's Basic Attacks cleaves within a frontal cone, striking all units within the swing radius of his mace.

Activate: Line up your hammer for a powerful horizontal swing. After 0.5 seconds, swing your hammer and dish out a powerful frontal cone blow which deals damage equal to your basic attack + 125%. This swing also pushes back any hostile targets hit.

You can move while preparing this swing at 15% reduced movement speed.

Mana: 0
Cooldown: 20 Seconds.

Swing radius: 180 Degree frontal cone.
Swing distance: 3.5 Range (1 Range further than baseline basic attack range)
Properties: Clamping, Piercing "Skillshot" / "Skill-Swing".
Targeting: Point target
Swing direction: Clockwise
This is a push-back - Not a knock-back; So it does not stun and simply "moves" units without interrupting channels. (Unless the channel should break upon taking damage)

Primary Abilities

Q - Firestrike
Activate your Hammer's thrusters and preform a near instant vertical swing which will create a fiery projectile that travels forward and pierces anything hostile in it's path. The flaming projectile deals 203 (+ 4% per level) damage to anything hostile it pierces and slows the movement speed of stricken hostile units by 20% for 1.5 seconds.

Mana: 65
Cooldown: 10 Seconds.

Projectile travle distance: 12
Projectile travle speed: 14
Projectile width: 2.750
Properties: Clamping, Piercing Skillshot, Slow
Targeting: Point target

W - Crusader Charge
After a 0.5 second delay - Activate the rocket thruster on your back and begin charging toward your targeted location. Reinhardt will charge a great distance forward and won't stop unless he collides with terrain, a structure or re-activates this ability in order to stop himself. During the charge; Reinhardt will deal 122 (+ 4% per level) damage to any minions or mercenaries he bypasses, he will also pushe them aside as he charges trough them.

During the charge; Should Reinhardt collide with a hostile hero, they will take 39 (+ 4% per level) damage and find themselves pinned against Reinhardt, causing for the hostile hero to be forced along for the duration of the charge.

If Reinhardt re-activates the ability to stop his charge; the pinned hostile hero will simply take 37 (+ 4% per level) damage and will be pushed a great distance away from Reinhardt once the charge ends.

If Reinhardt keeps going with a pinned hostile hero and crashes into terrain or a structure while they remain pinned; The hostile hero will suffer damage equal to 8% of their total health and become stunned for 1.75 seconds.

During the charge, Reinhardt can move left or right by moving the mouse cursor - Yet his movement is severely limited.

Reinhardt can be rooted, stunned, silenced or conditionally stasied to stop the charge.

Mana: 75
Cooldown: 14 Seconds. (Cooldown starts once the charge ends)

Charge width: Hero hitbox.
Charge speed: Base hero movement speed + 20%
Maximum charge range: 20
Targeting: Point Target
Properties: Movement Speed buff, Stun (conditional)

E - Barrier Field
Raise your Barrier Field - a large rectangular shield which cover the front of Reinhardt in whichever direction your mouse cursor is facing. The Barrier has 1250 (+ 4% per level) health and can because of this; sustain damage equal to the amount of health it has. While the Barrier Field is active; certain conditions change for Reinhardt and certain condition applies to the Barrier itself and those near it:

Reinhardt can not Basic Attack while the Barrier Field is up.
Reinhardt moves 10% slower while the Barrier Field is up.
The Barrier Field can be re-activated to be taken down in which case it will take 3 seconds before the Barrier begins to regain 75 hit points per second until it is raised again or is at full health.
The Barrier Field effectively negates damage as long as it has health, meaning that (Example:) A Nova Snipe that would hit the Barrier for 500 Damage would be fully negated even if the Barrier only has 1 health left.
If the Barrier breaks; it will take 5 seconds before it begins regaining health.
The Barrier does not sustain damage from grounded Area of Effect abilities (Blizzard, Flamestrike) but will sustain damage from directional Area of Effect abilities (Self-Destruct).
Basic attacks landed at Reinhardt or allies of Reinhard within 1 range of his Barrier will deal 75% less damage.

Mana: 0
Cooldown: 1 Second between Raising and Lowering the Barrier.

Barrier width: 7.5

Heroic Abilities

R - Earthshatter
After 0.6 seconds, slam your hammer into the ground with full force and generate a frontal shock-wave which deals 192 (+ 4% per level) damage to anything hostile hit and cause for a 1.5 second stun to be applied.

Mana: 100
Cooldown: 90 Seconds.

Targeting: Point target
Properties: Area of Effect, Channeled cast, Clamping, Stun.
Arc: 90 Degrees.
Distance: 10.
Earthshatter does not "traverse" terrain and will thus not damage or stun anything hostile behind cover of terrain.

R - Lion's Head
Launch the head of your hammer toward you selected targeted location. The head of the hammer will travel for a set distance before coming to a halt in which after 0.5 seconds have passed; the hammer-head will return to Reinhardt.

The head of the hammer will deal 397 (+ 4% per level) damage to anything hostile it hits and apply a 50% slow which lasts for 2 seconds. The damage and slow can be dealt / applied both as the hammer head is traversing away from Reinhardt and when it returns to him.

When the hammer-head returns, it will return toward Reinhardt: meaning that by moving - You can slightly alter the path in which the hammer-head returns. If Reinhardt dies while the hammer-head is out traveling; the hammer-head will be destroyed.

During the time the hammer-head is gone, you can not cast Rocket Hammer ( D ) or Firestrike ( Q ) - Your basic attacks also deals 50% less damage during this time-period.

Cooldown: 75 Seconds.

Projectile travle speed: 10
Projectile width: 3.5
Properties: Clamping, Piercing Skillshot, Slow
Targeting: Point target

Talents

Level 1



Motivated Momentum:

Remove the movement slow penalty for preparing the swing with Rocket Hammer and cause for it's cooldown to be reduced by 2 second per hostile hero hit by the swing.



I will be your shield:

Each time your Barrier Field sustains at least 750 (+ 4% per level) damage - Reinhardt gains 50 Armor for 3 seconds. The timer for this Armor buff drops-off 100% slower when the Barrier Field is not active.



Mug O Forwaring Glory:

Activate: Heal for 40% of your total maximum health over 6 seconds. While this effect is active - Reinhardt gains 15% movement speed and can not be affected by slows.

Cooldown: 60 Seconds.



Level 4



Swedish Engineering:

Double the health of your Barrier Field.



Reserve Energy:

Barrier Field starts re-gaining hit-points after 1.5 seconds of not being active and will begin to regenerate 2 seconds after being destroyed down from 5 seconds. While your Barrier Field is broken; You can re-activate the ability to bring up an emergency barrier which has half the health of your standard Barrier Field. The original Barrier Field can re-gain hit points while the emergency barrier is active. The emergency barrier will be automatically destroyed after 10 seconds.



Cover every angle:

While Barrier Field is active - Reinhardt and allies within 2 range of his barrier will take 50% reduced damage from Area of Effect abilities.



Level 7



Paving Way:

Firestrike instantly destroy's minions.



Willpower given form:

Firestrike sets all hostile units stricken ablaze; causing them to suffer 125 (+ 4% per level) damage over 3 seconds. This damage is doubled VS heroes.



Overheated Thrusters:

Increase the Width, Travle Distance and Slow of Firestrike by 20%



Level 10 - ( Heroic Abilities )



Earthsatter.



Lion's Head.



Level 13



Flexible Thruster:

The maneuverability of Reinhardt during Crusader Charge is far more flexible.



German Punch:

Crusader Charge starts 0.25 seconds faster and you'r travel speed / distance is increased by increased by 50%



Presence of Glory:

Reinhardt's back thruster is constantly active and causes for nearby hostile enemies to burn for 19 (+ 4% per level) damage per second they remain near Reinhardt. Heroes pinned during Crusader Charge takes 75% more damage from this effect.



Level 16



Reinforced Cracks:

When Barrier Field drops under 50% total health - It reduces all sources of damage taken by 25%



Fires of Justice:

If Firestrike pierces a hostile hero - It will cause for adjacent Firestrikes to be emitted from the stricken hero. These adjacent Firestrikes have 50% reduced effect of the original one.



Strategical Curve:

You are given an bonus ability (2-6 slot ability) which when activated; Lets you do a 180 degree turn during Crusader Charge. Doing this will refresh the distance you can travle. You can do this with a hostile hero pinned.

This can only be used once per Crusader Charge.



Level 20 - ( Storm Talents )



Last Stand:

Increase the length, width, damage and stun timer on Earthshatter by 35%. When Reinhardt take fatal damage; Earthshatter will have it's cooldown reset and Reinhardt becomes invulnerable for 3 seconds. During this time Reinhardt can only cast Earthshatter and a Earthsatter cast during this invulnerable state deals 300% more damage. Reinhardt dies once the invulnerable state is over.



Heart of the Lion:

Reinhardt's Hammer constructs itself a spare hammer-head while Lion's Head is active. Removing all of the negative effects this ultimate had previously. Once the hammer-head returns, it will fuse with the new one and cause for Reinhard to deal 100% more basic attack damage and gain 2 additional basic attack range for 5 seconds.



Solidified Determination:

Rocket Hammer now launches a Vertical Firestrike when used. This Firestike retains any talent upgrades the baseline Firestrike has. This Firestrike counts as an extension too Rocket Hammer and thus also benefits from the level 1 talent: "Motivated Momentum"'s cooldown redcution.



Hand of Balderich:

Activate to become Protected and Unstoppable for 4 Seconds.

Cooldown: 90 Seconds.

Skin suggestions

Reinhardt already have so many good skins in Overwatch that I feel all should be represented; His base Skin of course alongside his "younger self" skin and the Balderich skin are all skins I think should be in this game one way or another.



As for alternative skins - I do know that Blizzard with the Blizzard-World patch for Overwatch gave Doomfist the "Blackhand" treatment but in all honesty - I think a Blackhand-Style skin could suit Reinhardt. Of course if they ever add Blackhand as a Standalone hero this may be impossible to pull trough:

This Reinhaardt Concept is a re-construction of a Reinhardt concept I did back in November of 2016 - The old concept was turned to Hots before the 2.0 update and was not nearly as polished as this one so I decided to re-do it as I will do with many of my other older concepts.
