The Dark Titan

Behold the Legion's power. No matter how hard this world fights, it will fall






They exist to destroy. The entire cosmos and everything in it is a means to an end, and that end is the extinction of existence itself -- all worlds stripped bare, or shattered. All that lives dead. All that can support life corrupted and befouled. Within the ranks of the Burning Legion are fiends who enjoy the corruption of mortal hearts, who savor the slow degradation of those who willingly sign the pact -- but in the end, the purpose of the Legion is the purpose of its master, Sargeras -- and that purpose is the unmaking of all things.

Sargeras is a titan and the creator and leader of the Burning Legion. He was once the champion of the Pantheon, chosen to defend the worlds the titans had ordered. However, while he once served as a guardian and protector, he later set out to destroy all world-souls and life in the universe, and undo what the titans had strived for ages to achieve.

Sargeras is a 5 Player Hero, that will need a full party to play him or all 5 picks him in draft mode.



This Hero concept is about



- Feel like The Burning Legion, a army of demons invading a world.

- Go over the line and make a VERY special Hero that breaks the moba genre.

- Sargeras is 1 powerful hero in himself, the 4 other players will be playing as "Demon Lords" from the Burning Legion. Can choose Demon Lords in start of the game. There are 8 Demon Lords, 2 of each Role.

- Teamwork is even more key to win games. The Demon Lords need to be ready to follow the orders of their leader and Sargeras need to be ready to aid the Demon Lords in battle, while showing the might of the Burning Legion.

- Good overall, no direct counter.
- Standard comp that can work almost everytime.

- Lategame powerhouse



Weakness


- Sargeras is the only one that can pick talents, that can boost Sargeras's own power, or the Demon Lords.
(Demon Lords can still pick between 2 Ultimates at lvl 10)

- Very high skillcap required
- The enemy in draft knows what they are up against.
- Need to learn multiple heroes.
- Learn how Demon Lords and Sargeras synergize with eachother.
- no Mount
- no Hearthstone
- No healing at the alter of Storm




- In order to pick Sargeras in draft, everyone need to choose Sargeras and the one to pick Sargeras first will play him and the rest as Demon Lords.
- After that, the enemy team can pick heroes to counter it without the rest of your team picking, but you can still ban.
- The other players on your team will pick their "Demon Lords" ingame like Aram UI.
- Even if you play as one of the Demon lords, you will still get credit for playing Sargeras (lvling, quest)


The balance is not importent here, but the design of the concept.

Nether Form


At the begining of the game, Sargeras is stuck in Nether Form.

- Cant move around and is close to the Core (see it as a Abathur without a body)

- Abilities are global.

- Sargeras can however activate Invasion to enter the Nexus with Physical form for a short duration. (See Mount Z for Sargeras)

During Sargeras Physical Form he is granting access to 1 unique Basic Ability.

(Q) Power of the Fel Can use on himself, but will not get rooted if picked You cannot stop us! and shorter range.

(W) Army of the Legion Shorter range.

(E) Fury of Sargeras: New functionality, after a delay, charge to that location and destroy the area with Gorshalach.(2-4 second delay, talents or quest completion can change the delay timer).

Fel Drain: Passive: If any Demon Lords is close to Sargeras, he will drain 200 health from them every 1 second. This does not heal Sargeras.


If Sargeras is getting below 10% he will enter Nether Form again, but cannot use abilities before hes "death timer" is over except Player Portals and grants exp as 3 heroes killed.

Power of the Fel (Q)

Buff a friendly Demon Hero. increase movement speed, damage, ability power and armor by 10% for 2 seconds.

Quest: For every 5 takedowns on a enemy hero with Power of the Fel decrease cooldown by 1 second.
Reward: After 10 takedowns, gain 1 charge of Power of the Fel.
Reward: After 20 takedowns, Increase the duration by 2 seconds.
Reward: After 30 takedowns, Now grants unstoppable for the duration.

Cooldown: 16 seconds

Spawn 1 Wrathguard and 5 small Felguard minions
(azmodan ult minion, global, need vision to use, deals 50 damage on impact).

Quest: Minions deals damage to:
Non-Heroes: 25000 damage
Reward: increase Legion Minions health and damage by 50%

Heroes: 7500 damage
Reward: increase Impact damage by 400% on Heroes

Quest: Destroy Keep 0/1
Reward: Reduce cooldown by 10 seconds

Reward: Completing all 3 Quests reduces cooldown by additional 10 seconds.

The Wrathguard is Sargeras primary way to get Exp for the team, it will work like Abathur Symbiote and It will show on the minimap.

Mark a area and appear in your physical body for 5 seconds and destroy the area with Gorshalach,
deals 1,200 damage (+90 every minute up to 3,000 damage) damage across the entire area of impact.
Goes back Nether Form afterwards.

(Works like nuke on warhead junction, but does not deal damage to structures)


Quest: Hit Heroes with Fury of Sargeras
Reward: After 10 Hero hits, Reduce cd by 30 seconds.
Reward: After 25 Hero hits, Reduce the delay on Fury of Sargeras by 1 second and make a creater afterwards for 2 seconds. (Sonya lvl 20 Leap Upgrade creater)
Reward: After 40 Hero hits, Increase damage by 50%
Reward: After 60 Hero hits, Increase damage by 100% and reduce the delay on Fury of Sargeras by 1 second.

Cooldown: 70 seconds

Command!

Sargeras orders the Demon Lords to move to a location. Marked on the map, Demon Lords will see it clearly. (Same size as Anduin's Holy Word: Salvation)

Cannot use it on top of Demon Lords

During the duration, Demon Lords get 20% increased movement speed. damage taken will remove this effect.

Demon Lords getting to the location will get:

- 5 Armor and get the Command buff for 12 seconds.

Takedowns with the buff will reward Demon Lords Baseline quest:
Promotion

Failing to get to the location will give following debuff:


- Decrease Movement speed by 10% until death or getting to the next Command! location

Quest: Get all Demon Lords Promotion
Reward: Increase Armor by 10 on Command!.

Note: Progress carries over when you switch Demon Lord

Sargeras lacked a way to make sure He was in command of the team. Giving Sargeras this ability will enforce hes rule over the other Demon Lords.

Leader of The Burning Legion (D)

Portals and the 4 other Players



Sargeras have 4 charges of Portals in the beginning of the game he can place around the map.

- Needs vision to place portals

- Cannot place the portals together, to avoid stacking.

- Failing to spawn portals in the begining of the game will result in portals spawning close to keeps and Core.

- Can only have 4 active Portals. Upon a Portal getting destroyed, Sargeras gets a charge of Portal after 5 seconds and can place a new Portal after.

- If a Demon Lords portal is destroyed, the death timer of that hero will stop.

- A new Portal cannot be destroyed before that The Demon Lord's death timer is over and will have 2 seconds protection upon spawning.




Demon Lords


The 4 other players will get a choice to pick a Demon Lord and a role under the command of Sargeras to play. When a Demon Lord dies, the player will spawn after the death timer in their own portal instead of Halls of storm.

When dieing on a Demon Lord, the player will switch to the other Demon Lord of the same role.
(You die as Fel Lord Zakuun, after your death timer, you spawn as Kin'garoth)


Your Demon Lord will keep their Heroic Ability, choose wisely.




- Demon Lords can channel on their own portal to heal over time, but any attacks will interrupt the channel.

- Demon Lords does not have Hearthstone, Mounts or Heals at the Halls of Storms.

- Cannot pick multiple of the same Demon Lord.



- There are 8 different Demon Lords, 2 of each Role.

(Q) Cleave: Deal 150 damage infront of the Zakuun. (Leroic Skeletal Swing) Enemies in the inner impact will be stunned for 0,25 second and will reduce cooldown by 2 second for each hero stunned.

Will trigger the trait for each hero hit.

(Q) Punch: Target a Enemy, hitting them hard, dealing 319 damage. Reduce armor by 15%, healing Fel Lord Zakuun for 8% of max health and stunning them for 1,5 second.(Melee range)

(W) Roar: increase Armor by 25 and Attack Speed by 50% for 2 seconds.
Cost: 35 Mana

(E) Throw Axe: Throw the axe at a location, deals 110 damage and stays at the ground for 8 seconds.
During the duration Fel Lord Zakuun deals 20% less auto attack damage.
Upon hit, getting slowed by 50% for 1,50 seconds. If hit by the center, get slowed for 2,50 seconds and double the damage.

Fel Lord Zakuun can pick the Axe up again, by walking close to it and press E

During the Throw Axe, Fel Lord Zakuun's Cleave will become Punch.

(R 1) Enrage: Active: The Fel Lord enrages, releases a violent explosion of Fel energy with every auto attack for 6 seconds.
Everyone that takes damage will give shield to the Fel Lord for 100% the damage dealt.

Cost: 60 Mana
50 seconds cooldown.

(R 2) Execute: Zakuun stuns the target for 4 seconds and prepares their axe to execute the target.
If the victim is not freed within 4 seconds they will take 40% of their max health instantly as damage and bleed for 40% more for 4 seconds.
Fel Lord Zakuun is unstoppable for 1 second while starting casting.
If below 30% health, instantly kill them after the duration.
Killing a Player resets Execute Cooldown.

- Friendly Heroes attacking this unit will heal for 25% of damage dealt.
- Raalgar heals for 5% of all damage done to the target.
- Debuff last 5 seconds.

If Shadowsoul Bolt hits Felguard Zakuun's Throw Axe or Kin'garoth's Felreavers, it gets empowered, shotting 10 Shadowsoul bolts from that location/unit. (Diablo's Fire Stomp mechanic)

(W) Fel Enhanced: Links 2 Demon Lords together for 6 seconds.
- If the targets are far away from eachother, deal 15% more damage
- If the targets are close to eachother, get 15 Armor

Raalgar heals 15% of both Demon Lords damage during the Link


(E) Demonic Rift: Open a demonic portal for 8 seconds, cannot be destroyed.
Every 2 seconds will spawn 2 Shadowflame Imps.
The imps will spread out and cast firebolt at the closest targets, the damage they deals will shield Raalgar for 50% the damage dealt for 10 seconds.

Reset cd on Shadow bolt Volley as well and gets Empowered.

(Works like Critical Mass for Li-ming)

Empowered: Get 2 bonus charges of Shadowbolt Volley for 3 seconds.
0,5 cooldown between each use.

(Q) Shadowbolt Volley: Shoots out an insanely long range volley of Shadowbolts that damage anything it touches, dealing 280 damage.
Cost: 40 Mana
6 seconds cooldown.

(Works like li-ming Magic Missiles but moves out instead of in towards the location and shoots 5 missiles).


(W) Mark of Kazzak: Put a debuff on a enemy hero. Every time Kazzak deals damage to the target, reset the cooldown of Shadowbolt Volley.

Last for 3 seconds.

(E) Cripple: Slow target’s speed and attack speed by 50% for 2 seconds.
Gorelix/Alizabal auto attacking the target gives them 50% Movement Speed for 1,50 seconds.

(R 1) Doom! Mark a enemy with Doom. The enemy will take 415 damage each second.
If the target dies, Reset Doom!

If he hits a enemy hero, deal 130 damage and stun the enemy hero for 1,50 seconds. Takes 15% increased damage from Gorelix for 2 seconds.

(R 1) Frenzy: Activate to reset abilities and recharge cooldowns faster by 100% for 3 seconds and 20 armor.

(R 2) Maw of the Damned: Equip Maw of the Damned
Increase auto attack by 25% and life steal 10% of auto attack.
Activate to throw Maw of the Damned, deal 350 damage and will return afterwards (Works like Probius Echo Pulse lvl 1).

Active: Activate to root Kin'garoth and deal 35 damage and slow for 25% around him every second, stuns enemies for 0.25 seconds every 2 seconds and get 25 armor for the duration.
Losing 5 energy every second and cannot auto attack during the activate. you can cancel it however.

0.5 seconds cooldown.

(Q) Forging Strike: Smashes a target, deals 50 damage and slows the enemy by 10% and increases damage taken from Forging Strike by 100% for 4 seconds. Both damage and slow can stack up til 5 times.
2 second cooldown.

(W) Diabolic Bomb: Create a bomb of fel energy that explodes when touched by enemies, inflicting 80 damage to enemies and gives Kin'garoth 20 energy for each Hero hit. (Cho's Runic bomb)

(E) Construction: Channel for 0,5 second. Summon a Fel Reaver, there are 3 different types of Fel Reaver that can be constructed.

Passive: Fel Reavers heal Kin'garoth for 50% of their damage dealt.

Note: You can press 3 different hotkeys to choose Which one you want to summon. 1 second cooldown to switch. and choose what target they need to focus.


(R 1) Apocalypse Protocol: Protected for 2 second. Spawning Empowered Fel Reavers.
All 3 different Fel Reavers will spawn

Empowered: Each Fel Reaver alive gives Kin'garoth 10 Armor and 10% Damage.

(Q) Jailers Aid: channeling on a friendly Hero. Heals target ally for 90 Health per second as long as they are in range. every second of heal grant 1 soul.
during the channel, the target will grant 10 armor and lifesteal on all damage. Trait can be used while channeling.
can cancel channel.
Cost: 12 Mana per second.
0.25 seconds cooldown.

If Felguard Zakuun Cleave, Punch or Kin'garoth Forging Strike while Jailers Aid are active on them, heal Both for 150% the damage dealt.

(W) Soul Prison: Traps a fragment of the target's soul preventing the target from being healed above 50% of their maximum health for 1 second. Healing over 50% will heal D'zorykx instead.
1 second duration.
Cost: 60 Mana
8 seconds cooldown.

(E) Soul Vortex: Drops a cage hungering for souls at a location for 2 seconds, drawing in enemies (tassadar, ult). upon reaching the cage, slow the target by 30% for 2 seconds and heal D'zorykx for 5% of the targets max health over 4 seconds.
Cost: 80 Mana
16 seconds cooldown.
If D'zorykx the Trapper is affected by Power of the Fel, increase the effect to 10% and gain 15 Armor

(R 1) Chain of the Jailer: Throw a chain at a location, if it hits a enemy, the enemy will get slowly pulled towards D'zorykx. (Stitches Hook baseline upgraded)
D'zorykx grants 30 armor during the duration.

(R 2) Jailer's Might: Channel Jailers Aid on all allies nearby Demon Lords, heals for 25% health and grant 50% damage reduction to D'zorykx for 4 seconds.

Desperate Instincts:

Gambit: All Demon Lords gain the following effects.

- Prevent Movement Speed from being reduced below 100% for all Demon Lords.
- Upon Losing a Objective, lose 50%

note: 1/3 seed or tribiute also counts.

Shadow Invocation: Will give following effects:

- D'zorykx the Trapper/High Inquisitor Raalgar gets a small teleport to use 90 seconds cooldown.

- Kin'garoth/Fel Lord Zakuun can now activate to slow with auto attacks, 30% for 2 seconds. 30 sec cooldown.

Fel Sunder: Every basic attack hitting a enemy hero, reduce basic cooldowns by 0,25 seconds for Demon Lords.

Collective Anguish If a target is below 50% health, Damage Dealer Demon Lords's Auto attack reduces the enemy hero's Armor by 25% for 3 seconds.
Can trigger every 6 seconds and only on 1 target.


Lvl 10 Talents


The Avatar of Sargeras was a physical shell hosting a portion of the soul of the Lord of the Burning Legion Sargeras, Though only a tiny fragment of Sargeras' true form and devastating cosmic power, the Avatar radiated great strength and fury.

Summon a Avatar of Sargeras at a location after 3 second delay. The Avatar will attack Enemies close to him (Works like Gargantuan, but bigger area)

- First time you use a Ultimate, it will get summoned from a Portal close to the core.




Lvl 13 Talents



Pact of Power: Power of the Fel now makes the target unkillable, but is getting rooted for the duration.

Burning Infernal: Army of the Legion now Spawns a Infernal with burning aura and increase damage of minion by 25% while alive.
Sargeras can now activate a hotkey to command the Legion minions where to move.

Health 1200 (+0.04)
Atk speed 1.00 Per second
Damage 72 (+0.04)
Speed 1.00

Annihilation: Reduce Invasion Channel time by 1 second.
Sargeras can stay in hes Physical body for 6 seconds, after using Fury of Sargeras.

- Additionally, every 2 seconds spawns Fel under enemy heroes that deals damage after 1,5 seconds.
For every Hero hit by Fel, Sargeras will stay in hes Psysical Form for 1 second more.


Lvl 16 Talents



Rule of Terror:

- Roar now also increases enemies damage taken by 25% and makes the next Cleave or Punch do 200% more damage.

- Construction Increase movement speed, health, damage on Fel Reavers by 50% and 30 Armor and also heals other Demon Lords nearby.

Darkness:

- Imps now runs towards Demon Lords, explodes and shields for 15% max health, exploding will reduce cooldown on Demonic Rift by 3 seconds for each explosion.

- During Jailers Aid, D'zorykk can now move and cast other abilities. also The Jailer can be cast on self.

Fel Rush: Damage Dealer Demon Lords get a shared hotkey

Can activate to reset and make the next Hateful Gaze or Soul Stab cast lock on the marked target without side effect and double the range.
120 second cooldown. Resets on takedowns.

Brutality: Damage Dealer Demon Lords get a shared hotkey

- Activate to trigger Kazzak's Might of Doom at a location, Alizabal/Gorelix will also dash to the location and gain 40% movement speed increase for 3 seconds.

- Activate to Empower Broggok's Cover. It's duration is increased to 8 seconds and can now jump to different Demon Lords during the duration each second.
Any Demon Lord Broggok is sitting on gains 30% movement speed.

Lvl 20 Talents



The Dark Titan: Sargeras Invasion will now allow Sargeras to enter the nexus permanently in Psysical form.

Stats: Sargeras Physical Form lvl 20

- Health 20000 (+0.10)
- Regen 20 (+0.040)
- Move speed 90%
- Atk speed 1.50 Per second
- Damage 800.00 (+0.04)


Lvl 30 Talents



The End: Enter Psysical Form and start channel for 30 seconds, can be interrupted, Kill all Organic life (instakill)

Structures/minion of Sargeras’s team and minions


Buildings will be affected by Sargeras and minion would be legion units or fel infused.

Why would you make this?

- Because I can!

- Like to make special concepts, we got enough normal heroes at the moment and need something that is worth talking about

- If Blizzard released this 5 player hero. It would get talked about a lot. Not just on Hots players, but other mobas or gaming sites would start talking as well.

It's free advertising for Heroes of the Storm and we really need that to get more players.

How can this be balanced?
- Hard to say since none has done this before, here is what I would do

1. Make it a brawl in the beginning to test them out for 4 weeks on the LIVE Servers, not PTR.
2. After 1 1/2 week update with buffs/nerfs
3. Do the same again
4. Release or wait 2 weeks more for final testing

This will help because:

- This will give players time to learn and addapt to play against Sargeras before players are able to play as him.

- We will not end in a Zarya release where people did not understand the mecanics of her shield/energy and so she got Overpowered by her new buffs

- None are using the PTR today and people wont. Even if you give them 10 loot boxes, people will have a hard time finding games. Making the Brawl on live servers will get more results.





History:



-(NEW) Added some new abilities for Broggok and Updated overall Hero/Heroes abilities + talents.

- This Hero Design have been going on for about close to 6 years now.

- Been redesigned 3 times now.

- Stepped away from Core hero since so many made and wanted a different Core Hero and it will prob not happen anyway.

- Motivation was to make a Hero that would break the moba genre. How far could I go over the line.

- This Design is still getting updated with feedback and suggestions from people and no I will not make it more normal:)

- This design could work as a brawl aswell.

- Updated Demon Lord abilities to synergize with eachother more

- Demon Lords now switch between each other of the same role.

- Added new function to Sargeras's Fury of Sargeras.

- Added more detail to some abilities. Making sure people know what kind of ability and how it works.

- Added mana to Demon Lords to balance their abilities.

There are a lot of inherent issues with this concept, but I'll stick to three:
  • I don't think anyone would really want to play the Demon Lords. Everyone would just want to play Sargeras. The Lords don't even get talents, so one of the game's coolest and most unique elements is just gone for them.
  • The obscene amount of work this concept would require just to create 10 heroes that will see even less playtime than Cho'gall (people like Cho'gall, but actually finding a chance to pick him is a hassle). In the same amount of time, you could just create 10 heroes.
  • I don't think this kit really takes full advantage of the "these characters HAVE to be played together" element. There's a lot of complexity and clauses and rules, but there's not much depth. You want high depth, low complexity.

1: I can understand you saying that, given I'm taking away talents from Demon Lords, thats why I tried to make Sargeras Talents affect multiple Demon Lords.
Sargeras is forced to buff them in some way and Demon Lords abilities can affect each other.

Lvl 1 could be changed to do more, more interesting talents or better Concepts to the other players on the team.

2: I know you could make 10 heroes out of this, But I wanted to see how far I could push a concept. Why stop at Cho'Gall? Murky? Abathur?

3: I tried to do this with the Demon Lords abilities, You can see High Inquisitor Raalgar's (Q) Shadowsoul Bolt how it can react if used at the right time and location. I want more of this in the concept, but dont have any idea at the moment.

It would just be easier to make the 5 demons as hero instead of putting so much effort in making something as needlessly complicated and contrive as this. This feels more like a concept for PvE mode than a legitimate "hero".

And because of how this is designed, it would be straight up impossible to play with in anything but quick match due to how the hero selection works. I'm sorry, but this is just worse of an idea then those old god concepts where you're literally no physical being.

Another generic "Hero is the Core" Hero Concept just with a different theme slapped on it. Heroes that replace the Core is something I hope the Heroes of the Storm development team never even considers.

We got a 2 player controlled hero, a global hero, that does not enter battle, got a character designed to die over and over. We even got medivh and Rag. It will happen at some point.

Ragnaros is as close as we will get to a Hero replacing the Core. If there was any Hero to do that very thing, Ragnaros would be the first choice.

Not bad, not bad. I do have a couple issues though.

First off, having one hero choice force the other players to pick a hero is very broken in multiple ways. It limits their choices, and if they don't want to play a Demon Lord then you probably won't play Sargeras. It makes the Demon Lords somewhat trivial, because they're pretty much destined to be weak and have limited talent options making them get boring quickly. Sargeras would never get played in QM, ever, and in HL it would be unlikely that he would get chosen often. It's a cool idea that would be awesome for a Brawl but otherwise it's a big nono.

There's also the issue of a Core-replacing hero. Yeah, Sargeras is broken overpowered, and having him as a mere hero would be awful lame, but then again it's the same thing with other characters too. The Overmind or the Old Gods are immobile and have little chance of functioning as normal heroes, so they should probably take priority as core replacing heroes. There's also Amon who I'd say is Sargeras' equal in terms of power, and having one or the other crammed into dinky hero form would be insulting. I hate to say it, but Sargeras might just be a better fit as the narrator of a Burning Legion map, and it's the same for Amon. If you want an impactful demon with your abilities just pick someone like Archimonde, who's much weaker and could do fine as a hero.

I can see what you are saying with the force others to pick, I can agree on that. This hero is about teamwork and the chaos it will bring and will not be viable/ best pick in hero league (just like cho'gall) i would maybe even limit it to 5 man party.


On the Core topic: agree with a overmind/old god would be better. This concept was to try out something different, instead of the standard.
