mana regeneration down from 3 to 2.5.
An assassin with high single target damage, able to deal sustained damage with his dot effects. Has low defenses but high self healing coupled with several high defensive talents. Has several utility talents and can focus on swapping to a healer or semi-carry play style at level 20 with Shadow Affinity.
Fixed some typos and swapped around a few names and icons to make them actually fit the WOW ability lore; Mind Flay to Mind Melt, Mind Melt to Mind Sear and Mind Sear to Mind Flay.
After creating this I had left it for 5 months. Now, returning a 3rd time after even more of a prolonged period, I got a bit of the old motivation back in me. Aside from sorting through a few changes that I should have done a long time back, I also decided to balance it out a bit here and there with a few talent and ability updates. They will be noted in red.
Well, that's really it overall. I hope you find this entertaining and any feedback would be appreciated.
I think I'll keep adding on like this. Feel like i got my drive back for this concept. Came back with a few more updates, one rewording and to finally add quests to this character. Also after a talk with a friend who inspired me quite a bit,I've been thinking over using some specific actual WOW character from Duskwood, for now i have my mind on two specific ones but further details will be withheld till a later update. Mind Vision
X Mana Cooldown 12 seconds 7.5 cast range, Infinite Radius
Channel on an enemy for up to 5 seconds seeing through the target's eyes and gaining its sight radius.
While active the target is revealed even during stealth but does not restrict it from entering stealth. Cant' be cast on structures.

A word of darkness that causes X damage every second for 4 seconds.

Vampiric Touch
X Mana Cooldown 8 seconds 5.5 Range
Deal X damage every second for 6 seconds. If Vampiric Touch is blocked or removed before its duration expires it instantly deals X damage to the target.
Spell Shields, cleanse and any other form of debuff removal will trigger its instant effect. Spells such as Valeria's ''Cloak of Shadows'' will trigger it and take reduced damage from it. Damage reduction and absorption shields will not trigger this effect. Updated:

Mind Flay
X Mana Cooldown 10 seconds 6.5 Range and Radius
Channel on an enemy for up to 5 seconds, increasing the duration of all of your dots on that target by 0.6 seconds for each second channeled. Can't be cast on structures. Updated:

Devouring Plague
X Mana Cooldown 10 seconds 5.5 Range
Deal X damage every 2.5 seconds for 7.5 seconds. Heals the caster for 100% of the damage done.

Vampiric Embrace
X Mana Cooldown 20 seconds 6.5 Range
Cast Vampiric Embrace on an enemy causing you to be healed for 20% of all Ability Damage you do against the target.
Passive: Heal for 10% of all Ability Damage you deal.
Passive: Vampiric Touch is now applied to enemies within range 4 of the main target if it is removed or blocked.
Cant' be cast on structures.
Both effects work individually and do not overwrite each other, allowing you to heal for up to 30% of your Ability Damage off of an enemy with the Vampiric Embrace effect.

LEVEL 1
Shadow Focus
Casting Mind Vision on a target that's affected by both Vampiric Touch and Shadow Word:Pain causes Basic Abilities to recharge 25% faster while Mind Vision is active on them.
Mind Melt
Mind Flay now deals damage per each tick equal to 1.5% of the target's max health.
Does not affect Mercenaries or structures.
Is ''Mind Flay now deals 1.5% of the target's max life for each second channeled.'' a better way to word it?
Spirit Tap
Nearby enemy minion kills grant 20% bonus mana regeneration for 4 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Takedowns and Mercenary kills instantly grant 5 stacks and double the duration of this bonus.
Can't be refreshed above 4 seconds by minion kills. Updated:
Stacks down to 5 from 10.
Bonus regeneration up to 20% from 10%.
Duration up to 4 seconds from 2.5.
Of One Mind
Mind Vision can be used on an ally, granting you both the ability to see over obstacles and stealthed units for the duration. ?Quest: For each Takedown earned, Mind Vision additionally grants 1.5% increased sight radius to both the caster and target, to a maximum of 15%. ?Reward: Upon getting 10 Takedowns, Mind Vision can be cast globally on any visible target.
Still doesn't work on structures. Second Update:
Reworked into a quest with the passive being factored into it.
LEVEL 3
Shadow Weaving
Every time your Shadow Word:Pain deals damage it increases your Spell Power by 3% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 15%.

Dark Bargain
Every time you deal Ability Damage to a Heroic target gain a stack of bribe. Use 20 stacks to bribe a Mercenary, instantly defeating them. Does not work on Bosses. Maximum of 80 stacks.
Mind Numbing
Mind Flay now stuns the target for 0.25 seconds for every 1.5 seconds channeled.
Shadow Reach
Increases the range of your Basic Attacks and all your abilities by 1.5.

LEVEL 7
Pain and Suffering
Your Basic Attacks and Mind Vision extend the duration of your Shadow Word:Pain on the target by 1 second, up to a maximum of 3. ?Quest:Extend the duration of Shadow Word:Pain on Heroes a total of 75 times. ?Reward:Shadow Word:Pain's duration is permanently increased by 2 seconds. Additionally, its duration is suspended while within 4 range of the shadow priest. This applies to allies if the Shadow Affinity talent is taken.
Suspended means that it will keep dealing its damage in its normal intervals but its duration will be frozen, making it indefinite as long as one is constantly close enough to the Shadow Priest. Updated:

Added a maximum limit to the amount of times the duration can be extended. Second Update:
Reworked into a quest with the passive being factored into it. I decided 75 times is the appropriate amount since it can only be extended up to 3 times on any single target and counted only for Heroes, that and the talent comes in a lot later than most. With this you technically need to fully extend 25 casts on heroes to do it which will take a fair amount of time with its cooldown increase factored in. The secondary reward is based on Dota 2's Doom.
Mind Soothe
Targets affected by Mind Vision have their sight radius, Basic Attack range and ability range reduced by 2.5.
Range can't be reduced below 2.5 and you still retain the target's full base sight radius for the duration. Updated:
Ranged reduction up to 2.5 from 1.5.
Horror
Vampiric Touch now fears the target for 1.5 seconds if blocked or removed. If dispelled, this effect is also applied to the one who dispelled it. Passive:Vampiric Touch now fears the target after 4.5 of its duration for 1.5 seconds. If the Shadow Affinity talent is selected and Vampiric Touch is cast on an ally, it makes them unstoppable for 2 seconds instead.
The 2 fear effects are unique and can overlap but not replace each other.
Since Mind Flay can extend Vampiric Touch's duration to 9 seconds, the fear and unstoppable effects can trigger 2 times off of the same cast. Updated:

LEVEL 13
Shadowfiend
cooldown 60 seconds Summon a Shadowfiend with X health, 1.00 attack speed and X damage to attack enemies for 15 seconds, restoring 1.5% of maximum mana per attack. Instantly restores 5% of your maximum mana if the Shadowfiend is killed.
The Shadowfiend is spawned at a target location with a range of 5.5.
Ability can be recast to order the Shadowfiend to move or attack.
The Shadowfiend restores mana on death only when killed, not when timing out.
Dispersion
Cooldown 60 seconds Become unstoppable and gain 90 armor for the duration, reducing all damage by 90%, ignore unit collision and restore 10% of maximum mana per second for 3 seconds. While dispersed you are unable to use abilities, attack or mount.
Misery Loves Company
Every time your Shadow Word:Pain deals damage it restores 1% of your maximum mana. Passive: Increases Shadow Word:Pain's damage by 6%. Cooldown 60 seconds Active:For every enemy affected by Shadow Word:Pain, create a unstoppable Shadowy Apparition at your location with X health that will move towards them ignoring all obstacles and upon contact will disappear and deal X damage.
Shadow Apparitions are immune to crowd control and can go through terrain but have a relatively small health pool and can be destroyed by any kind of damage.
They deal their damage and disappear upon contact with the one afflicted by Shadow Word:Pain but they can't interact with anyone else.
They will continue chasing until destroyed by any Hero, building, minion, mercenary or boss, or when they reach their target.
Their number is always equal to the enemies afflicted by Shadow Word:Pain when this ability is cast, each locking on and chasing after their specific target and ignoring others affected by Shadow Word:Pain. Third Update:

Renamed from ''Misery'' to ''Misery Loves Company''. Finally updated this with something that seemed to fit in quite a few ways.
Encroaching Shadows
You can now move at 50% speed while channeling Mind Vision or Mind Flay. Passive:Mind Flay now slows the target by 50% for its duration. If the Shadow Affinity talent is selected and Mind Flay is cast on an ally, it increases their movement speed by 50% for its duration instead.
If Twisted Faith is taken this talent no longer interacts with Mind Vision. Second Update:
Added passive effect and interaction with Shadow Affinity talent.
LEVEL 16
Twisted Faith
For its duration, Mind Vision now increases all Ability Damage its target receives from you by 1% per second, stacking up to 5%. Passive: Mind Vision no longer has to be channeled, its duration is increased by 2 seconds and its cooldown by 4.
It becomes an overtime effect like most of your other abilities. Updated:

Added a duration and cooldown increase to its passive. Really uncertain what % would make this ability viable and not overpowered. Would especially appreciate feedback on that.
Mind Sear
Mind Flay now spreads Vampiric Touch, Shadow Word:Pain and Devouring Plague to enemies within 5 range of the target and caster if they stay within it for at least 2.5 seconds.
This effect will both work around the caster and his target while channeling Mind Flay. Exiting the area of effect instantly resets the effect timer. Moving from the radius of the caster to the target or vice versa doesn't reset the effect.
The spread spells have all added effects and talents if any at the time of spreading. Updated:
Range up from 4 to 5.
Shadow Resiliance
After standing still for 3 seconds or while channeling you fade into the shadows, gaining 5 armor each second, reducing all damage taken by 5% for 2 seconds, this can stack up to 6 times.
The effect begins stacking after not moving for 3 seconds or channeling, allowing for it to be sustained after moving through proper use of channel abilities. If moving while channeling due to the effects of Encroaching Shadows you still gain this effect.
If Twisted Faith is taken this talent no longer interacts with Mind Vision.
LEVEL 20
Shadow Word:Death (Devouring Plague Upgrade)
Reduces Devouring Plague's Cooldown to 2.5 seconds, increases its healing by 25% and deals initial damage equal to a tick of its periodic damage instantly but triples its mana cost.

Mana cost is now tripled instead of doubled. Third Updated:
Changed initial damage from 30% of periodic damage to one tick of its periodic damage which amounts to 33% of its total normal damage.
Vampiric Aura (Vampiric Embrace Upgrade)
Now affects all allied Heroes within 5 range of the Shadow Priest, healing them for half the amount healed on both the active and passive effects.
5% on passive and 10% on active, stacking to 15% of your damage as area healing to all nearby allied heroes. Updated:
Range up from 4 to 6. Third Updated:
Range down from 6 to 5.
Darkness
Basic Attacks against enemies increase the damage your target takes from damage over time effects by 3% for 3 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Passive:Attack speed is increased by 25%.
This effect affects all damage over time effects including ones applied by allied Heroes.
This effect can affect structures, Mercenaries and Bosses.
Shadow Affinity
You can now cast Shadow Word:Pain, Vampiric Touch, Devouring Plague and Vampiric Embrace on yourself or allies and channel Mind Flay on allies. When cast on allies Shadow Word:Pain, Vampiric Touch and Devouring Plague restore life equal to 50% of their Damage, Vampiric Embrace increases all healing the target receives by 20% for its duration and Mind Flay can be used to extend the duration of these effects. Vampiric Touch instantly heals allies for its direct damage amount if it is removed from them before its duration expires. Devouring Plague heals you for the same amount when cast on an ally.
These abilities retain their talent bonuses when used this way.
Shadow Word:Pain, Vampiric Touch and Devouring Plague ticks while on allies grant you stacks of Shadow Weaving and Dark Bargain and trigger the effects of Misery.
Mind Melt's spread can be triggered off of allies as well, jumping both to enemies and allies dealing damage and healing respectively. The spread works the same for allies as they must stay near you or the target for at least 2.5 seconds for it to spread to them.
Casting Mind Vision on an ally with both Shadow Word:Pain and Vampiric Touch will also trigger Shadow Focus.
Vampiric Embrace will increase all healing the target receives by 20%, not just healing from the Shadow priest.
The passive counterpart of Vampiric Embrace will not increase healing you receive when using your damage effects to heal yourself or heal you when using them on allies. Updated:
